Each time I go away from collecting I seem to come back. I stopped collecting right after Mattel started their WWE products. I've kept up with everything in a round about way the past couple years. But I slowly found myself checking out all the line-ups for releases even more lately along with all the Comic Con coverage etc. Then I started looking down the figure aisle every time I was out and about. Slowly and surely I have been drawn back into wrestling figuredom. Outside owning Defining Moments Ultimate Warrior and Macho King and of knowing all thats out with the Mattel line I am way out of the loop. I've been looking for a solid month and a half at various stores and the all I have found are John Cena, Undertaker Rey Mysterio and a barrage of Randy Ortons warming shelves everywhere. Outside of an almost purchase of Elite 14 I believe Rock [ Wish I would have gotten it ] I havent been able to find anything. Which leads me to a few questions. What is distribution like for Elites? and for Elite Flashback figures? I really want to get a CM Punk and some of the flashbacks! And how many times if any have you stopped collecting but returned and what sparked your interest again? To end my quick quip of returning to collecting I was at Target yesterday and came across the Battle Pack CM Punk v. Macho Man in random aisle and snagged it! Im pretty stoked albeit I have no interest in basics unless its this awesome of a pack.

Distribution in general is not very good. Elite CM Punks go for quite alot and are not that easy to find. Same goes for Flashbacks except Elite 12 Papa Shango and Elite 13 Edge.

Mattel WWE figures are very popular and doesn't last long on the pegs except for Cena, Orton & Mysterio basic figures.

Good Elites are hard to find and flashbacks are even harder to get your hands on.........but when you find them in your hunting travels its a great feeling......like being a kid again!
What a great start though........that Savage-Punk 2 pack is killer!

I went out figure hunting 2 days ago. I found 11 different John Cena's, 4 different Ortons, and 7 different Rey Mysterios and not a whole lot of anything else. A few various John Morrison figures with a sprinkle of Wade Barrett added to the mix. Figure hunting has been futal the last 2 months or so.
As for leaving the hobby.....I've left once in 25 years. It was right around the time Classic Superstars series 12 came out. I got tired of Jakks lack of detail in the later series that were there in the earlier series. I stopped collecting for about 3 years until Mattel got the license.

I collected wrestlers since the Hasbro days when I was a kid. I collected all the up into the BCA/Toybiz WCW days. After that I grew out of it. I was about 16 when I stopped collecting. I stopped for 13 years and never thought I'd ever collect toys again until I had a son who is now 14 months old.
I remembered my glory years collecting, and how much joy it gave me as a boy. I want to pass that on to my son, I feel that by putting alot of time, effort, and passion into it will teach him to take care of his things, and take some pride in ownership. Also, (if things go right) it will teach him to do good in school and be a good boy in general as it will earn him more figures :-).
