So, I received my packaging with Elite 16 CM Punk and Heath Slater in earlier today. And I paid $90 for that!! Anyway, I decided to stop collecting wrestling figures, cause the figures getting more expensive everytime a new series been released. Also in less then 2 years I am able to make my driver liscence, and I wanna save some money for that.
Anyone else stopping collecting cause the figures getting way too expensive??
EDIT I spend about $500 - $600 for wrestling figures in 1 1/2 year...

The most I have ever spent on a single figure is about £15 (about $24)
I will never buy figures more than retail price. :/

But the retail stores just have Elite 9... There is no other way then get the figures from online stores.

Wow, $90 is expensive for two figures. I mainly purchase at Retail stores only. It's a lot cheaper that way. You could also consider selling popular figures on eBay to make some income for strictly figures.
I was in your same position years ago. I was a Jordan Sneaker Fanatic. I'd buy most of the Retro Releases every month, keep in mind that these shoes retail for $150+. I had to sacrifice my sneaker fetish in order to save up for a car. It wasn't too difficult considering I had about 50 pairs of sneakers already.
Don't think too much about this situation. You are making the best decision. Getting a car should be a major priority in a young man's life. It provides access and freedom. Can't you already picture yourself driving through the city, listening to your favorite tunes and having hot chicks in the passenger seat? LoL Good luck, lil broskie.

I understand where your coming from, I can't spend over $30 on a single figure or a feel it's been wasted and it must be very hard finding decent figures in Germany!.

I think it's the natural thing to do at your age. A lot of guys stop collecting for a while. I didn't collect figures when I was in high school but I started up again during college.
It's too bad the crazy pricing is going to keep collectors away.

Sorry to hear that man.
Mattel really screwed to pooch for international collectors. Apparently they fail to realize that WWE has major global popularity. If I were in your position I would probably make the same decision. Besides these are toys and you can probably play catch up later on in life and that can be fun too, and possible even cheaper since most prices are high due impaitience on the part of some collectors.

I have seen B14, B15 Barrett Kofi & Cena, B16, and B17 Rey Ziggler & Henry. I picked up the good ones. HBK, Bret Hart, Wade, and Warrior and Eddie ( $20 for each figure ). The others will warm shelves until 2050 and we will not get new ones before they will sell out...

i've tried stopping. I just can't. But I do want to get all Elite Punks, Dolph's, Cody's, and Wade's. And guys who I have one of I say, "Alright, this will be the last Cena/Morrison/Truth/etc I get." Then we see new figs of them, an I just want. I also limited myself to only Elites because I wan to get other figures like Avengers, Spidey, and TMNT.

Yeah I am thinking about it on the count of how expensive it all is. None of the stores around here get anything. It looks like everyone else's shelves. People say they get the stuff at retail but how is that possible if there are no figures at retail?! lol
Anyway, $15-$20 for a toy is a little outrageous if you ask me. Those things should not be the price they are going for.

If the figures would be cheaper I wouldn't do that. When I see a cheap Elite 19 Ziggler or Lesnar somewhere on the Internet in the future, I maybe buy one... But I really wanna save money, so I don't want to spend $90 for 2 figs ever again!

I collect mostly Elites which are not cheap. Average retail price here in the US is about $17 each. With about 6 figures in each series and 4 or 5 series a year, that really adds up. Granted some figures are repaints like Orton, Cena and Rey so I don't have to collect all of them. A big problem is I can't find the other figures and sometimes have to resort to inflated prices.
I only got into collecting WWE earlier this year so I'm really behind. I also collect a lot of other lines like GI Joe, MOTUC and Batman Movie Masters.
The price of action figures is going up generally. Couple that with the fact that I am trying to save up money for other things, I have to decrease my spending habits. But I will not entirely give up on collecting WWE or anything else for that matter. I just have to be more selective. Many other collectors I know are jumping ship and I can't blame them.

No, I buy my Figures for about $15-$20 dollars Retail. +1. while i might watch figure listings on an auction site, i enjoy the hunt. i might order an exclusive from ringside or something i've missed on, but rarely do i spend over $20 on a figure. I do so on nWo Macho and legends The Rock.
