ive had this thought in mind for a while were any of you guys caught between the end of the jakks line and the start of the mattel one
where you didnt start collecting jakks till they were wrapping up their contract so the change to mattel shocked you
so you didnt continue to collect jakks and you didnt even wanna start collecting a brand new mattel line
i was and im glad i didnt continue jakks knowing mattels line is so much better but then again i started collecting mattel till elite 12 so i missed 11 complete elite lines
so was anyone caught in between the friendly fire

It was a strange thing at first, but when I got birthday money(My birthday is December 31st. So, Mattel's popped up the day of my birthday). I went to Wal-Mart and stocked up on the first elite set. I was blown away and instantly knew I was never going to buy a Jakks figure again. Jakks had a good wwe line for a while, but at the end I stopped collecting because of how bad it got. Mattel is so much better. Then I saw Jakks TNA line, and I thought. "What were you doing buying Jakks garbage!?" But yeah.

I was torn until I saw how much better the Mattel figures were and how miserable of an effort Jakks put in during its final year (in my opinion).

I had been collecting Jakks CS from 04-09, and when i heard Mattel was taking over i decided i was through. I skipped out through elites 1-7, mostly because i thought the ab crunch looked terrible and the E7 DX didnt look like them. The first mattel i picked up was L3 Pillman. I thought it was cool but i wasnt completely sold on the line. Then i got E8 Sheamus and it was on then! I had been bitten by the matty bug.

I never really collected Jakks RA that much, mostly just Build n Brawls. Loved the Mattel figures from those very first unpainted protos we saw (was that in late 08, or in 09?). I was waiting to buy them from day one.

I kept my NWA era guys like Luger, Sting, Flair etc but all my other Jakks got sold and I buy nothing but Mattel Legends/Flashbacks now.

I didn't have any trouble switching over. Jakks was so bad near the end, and Mattel looked so amazing. I went out December 31st, bought a Basic 1 Evan Bourne and never looked back.

I didn't start collecting mattels right away. I started collecting jakks way back in 2001 and never stopped collecting until they announced they were done and mattel was going to start producing them. I don't know what it was but I just really didn't feel like starting a new collection.
One day I realized I didn't have any updated edges so I ordered the Edge/Big Show 2 pack off of RSC togive mattel a chance and see what I was getting. Well for some reason I was just impressed enough to keep collecting. And now well over a year later my collection keeps growing bigger.

To be honest I doubted mattel but ever since I saw the protos I knew the figures were going to be amazing

I stopped collecting cs around cs21 that's when they started to really slack off. I didn't start buying Mattel til Target had a clearance on legends for 3.72. I haven't looked back since

I collected Jakks until the line ended with no interest in mattel, then went to my local target one day and they had the entire legends series 1 so I bought a SCSA took it home, was back at target an hour later to finish the rest of the set, and picked up a few elites as well. Never looked back.
