Ever since I read a post on here about someone snapping off an elites leg because the joint gets messed when the figure was put togeather, I've been checking every figure I open for this issue and haven't run across it until now. My elite 16 Punk has this problem. His one leg is real stiff and if I bend it to the side a little i can see inside the upper leg and the joint thing doesn't move at all. It's actually deformered compared to the other side. I'll just have to find another one when they start popping up retail

I have every Elite but I haven't come across this problem, although I might not have tested every one of them, lol. I've mentioned this before that my Terry Funks have this problem. Out of about 10 Funks only two have good legs. Some other Legends I own have the same problem.

I come across problem with stiff joints and not just on WWE figures. Marvel Universe figures have lots of problems like this too. What I'll do, is heat up the figure by placing it the vent area on a space heater for about 5 minutes. Then I'll move all the parts a few times and then place it in the freezer for 10 minutes. This process also helps if a figure should have a leg that is bending to outward or inward. DCUDs have this problem and I have had a couple of WWE figs that have had this problem.
You can skip the heating part and go straight to the freezer, but that can be risky and it depends on why it is stuck. I'll only go straight to the freezer if the joint or swivel is stuck do to paint apps which I will find more on DCUCs and MUs.

my slaughters leg snapped the bar in half. even after loosening with heat. my legends 3 rock is on the verge of breaking the bar in half too. im starting to think the elites arent constructed to be played with. especially the leg/hip joint and overtime i feel like they will have serious issues which is upsetting because the whole point of the elite articulation is too pose/play with/move around

I have somewhere close to 80 Elites and Legends, and the only ones I had a problem with were Roddy Piper, who had a manufacturing defect on the peg, where the hip was frozen and the bent part of the peg was the part that was actually moving when I'd try to raise it, Batista, whose legs were frozen, Finlay, whose legs were frozen, and Justin Gabriel who has vertical movement, but can't take a deep stance.

I actually looked at my Justin Gabriel and it looks like the same leg on him has the same issue as Punk. his leg will move a little bit farther but its still tight. Actually when comparing the same part of the leg on both figures they look like they are from the same mold, just different color plastic. I dunno how true that is or if it's just a fluke. it's the left leg.

I recently received an E6 Batista and his legs wouldn't bend back so I boiled some water for 4 minutes and just soaked the figure in there. After a couple of minutes, I tried to force it and it worked and then after that, I ran it through cold water and now it's moving without any problems.
I think some of the leg joints are getting heated during transit and causing it to "melt" so the joints get stuck. Same thing with staining, the heat is causing the black dye to rub off and the plastic is getting dyed.

Terry Funk is the worst. I've got two Funk's for fixups and they both have this issue, one more so than the other. Its jsut the way he's placed in the package.

It's odd but other than the Elite 1 Punk I've only encountered this problem with Legends (especially them many Funks & the Piper & Orton 2-Packs I've purchased) and the DM Macho Man (His actually snapped off) but 99% of the time if you run it under hot tap water for a couple minutes (maybe 3-5) they'll actually move. So then just work the joint for a few minutes and it'll be fine.

Did you get your Punk from the first RSC shipment or the recent back orders? i hope it was only a problem with the first batch of figures that are often rushed through or have other minor defects which are later corrected/changed (The E15 Sin Cara mustard/gold issue, for example) I'm due to get my E16 back order any day now, and I'm hoping it won't have any stuck joints, especially since I've purchased, like, 4 Elite Roddy Pipers, all with the hip peg stuck, and each of them hasn't budged no matter what. Good god, i effing hate when these things happen.

Could you please post a picture of any figure with the leg broken for this problem, please?

This was the only Elite styled figure that it ever actually broke off on me all others were fixed with the hot water trick. I had 2 Basic Series 2 Kozlov figures that had their right hip fused to the body. And they tore off when I tried to move them. Most recently it happened with 4 of the Movie Masters Green Lantern Hal Jordan figures when they first came out. I returned it to TRU and we opened 3 more at customer service before we found one that the hips weren't fuse on.

The best advice I can give you is....return it and get an exchange.
Don't open him up or boil, or freeze or anything. It's a bitch to assemble back together. And if your able to put it back the parts will be as loose as crap.
Sorry for sounding angry but I had a problem with my basic 18 Rhodes and was a so frustrating to try and put it back together. At the end I gave up and took it back to the store

If he had a stiff/stuck joint why did you take him apart?

my punk was from the back order. the boiling didn't help. the hip joint thing inside his leg is mangled pretty badly it won't move even when it was super flexible. It's like it got pushed in to far into the leg socket or something.

I hope mine is all ok, It'd be pretty crappy to have the figure messed up after waiting for a MITB '11 accurate Punk for over a year.

I'v had a few leg problems with the figures myself, my elite 2 HHH's leg fell off like the macho above, and I have two elite 4 jericho neither of which have legs that will bend hardly at all, I just figured the line needed a little time before the QC got worked out right.
