I saw you post this in a thread before, lucky you.
That isnt the only good thing though: -more financially sounds than jakks -can afford to be innovative -will bring something new -may be more satisfying in operations in looking after collectors -may take figures in a new direction -more highly recognised name may mean lower cost of figs -will be something different -may not cut dorners all the time and releasing so many repaints or flawed figures -can be a breath of fresh air
I think you should be more open-minded and optimistic.
Im not saying this directly to you but in general that most people are judging mattel prematurely and hence immaturely.

I don't understand people complaining about Mattel's take-over of the WWE product. Nobody has a clue whether they'll keep the standard Jakks has set. Perhaps they will even improve. Fact is that we still know nothing.... let's just wait and see until the first prototypes are shown.
And Dam...... you will be one of the fortunate ones on the board and will probably get ahold of Mattel's figure as one the firsts on the board.

Wow that sounds good. Lucky you. You can just go there when you want to buy figs from Mattels store.

I just don't a different size figure. The RA size are great and I do hope the prices drops from them. I think we are going to have to wait and see. I am looking forward to first line of figures in 2010

I agree with what you have to say, we are just gonna have to wait and see what Mattel's protos look like before we can actually complain. Mattel is more well known than Jakks, so maybe they can establish a decent line for WWE figures.

All I know is despite what they look like I'm not going to collect them. With Jakks taking over TNA that's all I will collect

I never post in the figure forums anymore, because I don't collect them anymore, but the fact that people are even complaining over the change is laughable. Its not the first time the WWF/WWE brand has seen a major switch, in fact Jakks has switched within their own branding several times. It took many years for collectors to become fully accepting of Jakks' product, and some still aren't. Jakks came a long way from the rubbery bone crunchers I grew up playing with, from real scan, to the ruthless aggression figures most seem to love now, and especially the Classic Superstars line.
I don't know what Mattel has in store, and it may take them a while to get it right, but I think most people just fear change. Things change... as a fan of two of the most screwed up bands in history, Guns N Roses and Van Halen, I've really become a person who easily accepts change, from new singers, to completely different lineups all in general. Sure, I grew up loving a certain product, but I always give the new product a chance before writing it off.
You knew Jakks wasn't going to hold the brand forever, just like a sports team you like doesn't hang on to an athlete you love forever. We saw this recently with the retirement of Brett Favre. Yes, NFL fans, and Packer fan especially grew up loving Brett Favre, and with good reasons... but who knows what the future brings. Should Packer fans just stop liking the Packers because Favre retired? No, they should give Aaron Rodgers a chance, and see what he has to offer... which may not be as good as what Favre offered for 16 seasons, but it could wind up being pretty good.
In short, just give Mattel a chance... it could stink, it could be as good, heck, it could even be better than what Jakks has done over the past several years.
Change isn't always bad, it isn't always good either, but its a part of everything in life.

Mattel are financially more sound... and so they'll be able to afford signing Hulk Hogan! ;D
Seriously, if they sign the Hulkster, I'll be delighted. Anyways, as long as the figures are made to be as realistic as possible, it'll still be good.
God bless.

It's going to be different, hopefully Mattel will hear our cries and it won't be as drastic of a difference as Hasbro to Jakks, but we just have to wait. Perhaps the chat on the 19th will answer some questions, perhaps not. I, like most, hope the scale is saved. Other than that and the fears I mentioned in my post on this board, I am very optimistic. I am glad to see Dam has something to look forward to, but I think we all do. We will still have Jakks just producing another organizations superstars. We are lucky to be getting an alternative to Jakks as well. WWE will be around forever and TNA continues to grow in popularity. The way I see it I have like 60 more years to collect new and different figures. As a collector I am starting to get excited about the possibilities in our near future.

Mattel will make great figures. They may not fit in with RA, they may not be to your liking, they may exhibit liberties with the characters you do not care for, but they will be good figures. The Mattel product will be an animal unto itself. Mattel cannot make RA figures - period. The figures may be close in scale, but they will definitely not look like our current figures.
Anyone who has been collecting toys, for any amount of time, will tell you that there is always trepidation before a change. LJN collectors laughed at Hasbro figures, many Hasbro collectors disliked TTL, and some RA collectors are offended by the switch to Mattel. The toy line will do well, with or without our support. The best we can hope for is that Mattel is willing to listen, and any business driven by the buying power of an interested audience, should have a ready ear.
As mentioned, this should be an exciting time in figure collecting. I can't wait to see what Mattel has to offer. If I like it, fine. If not, I can always add deserving TNA figures to my RA collection.
