Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 got me started. My parents bought it for me for Christmas '07. I got the game, and by brother got the Rey Mysterio figure that came with it. I got jealous because he had a figure and I didn't (even thought I got the game ), so I went a bought a Cena/RVD/WWE Title pack with some Christmas money, and it snowballed from there.

Just got looking at WWE again due to my foster brother who got into it. Told him about all the Legends and looked on the web to see Hawk of LOD had passed... Bit more research and I found there DVD which I bought on Amazon ... When searching on Amazon I saw the figures and thought WOW!
And now Its my number 1 hobby!

I've been collecting since I got back into wrestling in 98. Id seen some in 94 but I was real little and didn't get hooked until I saw Fully Loaded 98 at my uncles house. From that point til now wrestling has been my passion. First figures I got were BCA Austin vs Taker 2 Tuff 3. From there I got the complete first series of OSFTM WCW figures and the ring with steel cage for xmas. Those were what really set it off for me.

my love for wrestling and my love for collecting toys combine them together and bam! started since I was 10 and im 24 now. I took breaks from collecting when I was in high school to focus on other things such as school and girls, and girls, and girls, oh did I mention girls lol. Now that I am engaged to a lovely lady who likes collecting monster high dolls its much easier to collect on my part since we can hunt together.

Saw Elite series 1 at TRU, was amazed at Mattel's quality and scale and I was hooked. I was always a fan of WWE but when I saw Jakks figures, I didn't like them because of the goofy head and no scaling with each other.

Ok This is not a joke. I bought SVR10 because I heard about the CAW feature and how great it is. I bought the game to create Lady Gaga which I did. I was in Kmart one day and saw the cube of WWE figures and spotted a B8 Maryse. I bought it intending on making a custom Lady Gaga, My friend talked me out of it. So I liked the figure so much I got hooked on collecting. I used to have Jakks figures when I was 8 but lost interest in WWE Figures until 2011. So Long story short Lady Gaga got me into collecting

My Grandma raised my cousin Derek and myself on watching wrestling as kids as she always said, "Boys are supposed to watch wrestling, makes them tough." To go along with that she bought us our first wrestling figures, I was 5 and Derek was 7. She bought almost all of the hasbro figures for us and I collected the Jakks BCA's for a time years later. I got back into collecting figures a few years back after my Grandma had passed, but before she passed she gave me some of her collection as she loved wrestling and collected figures and dolls of all sorts. My first Jakks Classic wrestlers were the LOD tag pack she had picked up and I started looking around as I thought the figures looked amazing and here I am now with a huge Jakks collection and a Mattel collection that I wasn't ever expecting to have.

My step dad got me a Cena in 06. The only wrestler I knew (besides Big Show, Taker, Kane, Rey, HBK) then my friend got me hooked into wrestling in 09. My aunt and uncle got me a DA Taker and Batista figure, which got me into collecting.

Was going through some depressing times after some deaths and family seperation issues and was sitting home during winter time with no where to really go and not much money, pondering about my child hood 15 + years ago when i decided i wanted to pick up just a few WWE superstars to play around with and display. Being that i was such a huge WWE fan and really didn't have posters or anything to display and show it, someone was telling me about how Mattel took over the WWE figures line when i was at the bar one night and said how they made Kamala and Brian Pillman and that is when i decided to go "Figure Hunting" one day to check it out. Drove 3 hours away on a figure hunting trip to Toys R Us, Wal Mart, Target etc and ended up scooping up Brian Pillman and Kamala because they looked so realistic and outstanding that it reminded me of the Hasbro figure years when i was a kid, and Jakks BCA but only 10x better. I later went down and decided to grab a few more from the current roster and thats when i seen Randy Orton's first elite, Rey mysterio's first elite, and Hornswoggle which all looked so realistic and in scale and i loved the little accessories and shirts they came with that i picked those up to and it just started an epidemic from there. lol I was a MOC collector at first for like half a year buying numerous others after the ones i named until i started getting to many and nowhere to display them and one x mas couple years ago, i scooped Mr Perfect up for My Bro as a fun little side gift cause he loved Perfect growing up and he happened to open Perfect from the packaging after i gave it to him and when i was checking him out i notcied all the sweet articulation he had and how good they stood up on there own that i decided to just open all my MOC figs (while saving the packaging in bins for future selling of them) and now here I am 2 years later with almost 200 various Mattel figures, Rings, autographed 8x10's etc. I dunno what made me want to start collecting again after not doing so in 15 years, but i was really glad i did as it became a big hobby now (esp with customs and fix ups i do for my collection.) and just the excitement of seeing who is coming out in each series and actually gettin them in my hands is a real treat on its own. Prices are a lot more expensive now then they were 2 years ago when i started in this, but i still don't mind as its something i love to collect, i love WWE and have my whole life and with a collection as massive as mine, I am to far in now to just up and quit because of prices and don't think i will ever quit collecting until they are totally finished with the line or else they just start re releasing guys over and over and over like Jakks did then i will call it quits. How did you get started in collecting drizzyboi? I didn't read down to see if you posted or anything but please, feel free to share.

Started watching wrestling again full time around 1999-2000 when Vampiro was doing an angle with The Misfits in WCW, one of my favorite bands at the time. Seeing as how I already collected toys (vintage RAH G.I. Joe, Marvel Legends, etc.), it seemed only logical to start buying WCW toys (which were, for the most part, dirt cheap), considering Vampiro would eventually have a figure. Fast forward to 2001, the buyout happens, which means I'm SOL in terms of any new Toy Biz WCW figures. So I start bulking up my Jakks collection. 11 years later, hundreds upon hundreds of figures in my collection, most in storage, quite a few on display though.

I really really always wanted to be a collector but i would never get to it then 2 years ago my girlfriend told me you always go look at figures why dont you buy them
i said i didnt know then she encouraged me 2 and i bought an e6 cm punk cause he was my favorite and it started from there
she collects hello kitty stuff so she knows what collecting is all about
then i stopped buying figures for several months until the new elite packaging and flashbacks brought me back into the game

It all started when I was about 6 and saw a Sting figure in front of a grocery store, I remember my dad telling me he would reward me if I passed a spelling test I had. Long and behold I've been collecting since.

I started watching wrestling back in 1998 or 1999 and then I found the figures in Wal-Mart and that's how it all started.
