I live in El paso, Texas ive been part of the community for a while now. I always see people commenting on how certain figures are almost impossible to get in there local stores TRU Target Walmart K-mart
In my case ive been able to find all the figures ive wanted in retail at retail price
Does this mean Theres better distributing in some cities than others? Theres not many collectors in my area? Or is it sheer luck i havent struggled to find the mattel products i want?
I love the hunting part of collecting not having to order stuff from the internet for 50 bucks its sad to see that many fellow. collectors struggle for the product they want

Nah everyone gets them just some ppl don't check there stores everyday to get first dibs on shipments so they miss out and think they don't get them. There are situations when ppl are NOT buying any figures or there are not many to any collectors in towns and figures just sit there and clog pegs and the stores cant really order more. In your area, sounds like there are a lot of collectors if your always getting the new stuff and ppl are buying them up right away so there selling and there always getting new cases asap. It all depends how your area is and who is all buying the stuff and how much your going to check the store.

i Check my TRU's every friday around the same time and your right man maybe theres tons off collectors thats why it seems theres a surplus of product
i do live in a border city El Paso Texas/Juarez mexico and the Wwe is hitting it pretty big across the border that should be another reason why the product is flying off the shelfs
and ill admit i gave up on Walmart after the elite series 11 and k-mart after series 12
TRU in my town is doing a great job at bringing us what we want and were definetly consuming what theyre giving us

For me TRU sucks, but the the Wal-Marts here have gotten everything. I think some areas do get more stock than other areas and oddly enough it seems to be off beat cities not the largest metropolitan areas.

It all depends how your area is and who is all buying the stuff and how much your going to check the store. Not true at all. Lots of times stores skip over a series because they just don't get any new stock in. For example I've been looking for the Bella Twins now for over a month and have had no luck at all. It's not a problem that stores are full of 2 packs they just aren't getting them in. When I finally did find them at Walmart Mattel went and changed the assortment so now the Bella's aren't even in the case. This is part of the reason I've recently stopped collecting. It's just no fun at all when I can never find what I'm looking for. I've grown very frustrated seeing lots of people finding new stuff when all I can find around here is the same old figures that have been sitting there forever.

In the UK, no series of the main three lines has been skipped yet except for basic singles series 8. But it's still quite hit and miss as to whether you'd catch them. Particularly with elites, sometimes it's one shipment and then they're gone. Elite series 14 I bought online because I missed them at retail. Elite 13 I called a store and got them to hold one of everyone for me. Elite 10, 11 and 12 I was lucky enough to hit stores that had fresh cases that hadn't been put out yet. Elite 9 I bought online. Generally I only buy online if the price is reasonable, though. Elite 8 I bought online for stupid money and regretted it because they hit Toys R Us about a week later.

We had a similar topic on this board last week. I"ve seen everything at retail except B15, parts of B17, and B18. I don't even have a TRU in town, the closest is 20 miles away. I have about a 30 mile toy hunting radius from my house. I try to make 1 or 2 out of town trips a week. Whenever I get impatient and overspend on a figure (it doesn't happen often) I always end up finding it later at retail.

It depends on your area, to be honest. I live in a city of about 60,000 people, big enough for a Target, 2 Wal-Marts, 2 K-Marts, and not quite big enough for a Toys-R-Us. Proportionally, we don't have as many collectors, so I have never really had any issues finding new WWE figures, DC Universe, Star Wars, and any other figures I have collected. I also live close enough to Minneapolis/St Paul and several times a year go on a toy run up there, hitting Targets, Wal-Marts and Toys-R-Us stores all day long, and usually each store is picked over quite a bit.
My point is that a larger metropolitan area like the Twin Cities has 10 times the places to shop, but has 50 times the collectors/kids out shopping for the new toys. So the competition is harder in the bigger towns, which may sell most/all of a new series as soon as a case hits the pegs. So it may all depend on the size of the area you live in.
Just my 2 cents.
