Jakks was the better company as far as managing the wwe license. Jakks Classics made it to 28 waves, it prob would have gone for lots more waves but they lost the license to Mattel. Where as Mattel Legends only made it to 6 waves. So explain that one to me? I mean Mattel, according to many, has a far better product so why couldnt it make a deep legends line?
Jakks use to cost half what Mattel costs now.
Jakks gave us Accessories with every figure, unlike mattel.
Jakks has a much deeper roster of characters compared to mattel.
Jakks made a far supeior face sculpt than mattel. I feel Mattel makes no effort to sculpt faces on actual people. I feel Mattel just looks at an image and makes a caricature.
I personally liked the Jakks body molds compare to Mattels, which remind me of the old Jakks R3.
Mattel does "scale" but I've seen it fail on a few figs.
And last but not least, that fresh new Jakks smell was awesome.
So I'll say Jakks was the better company as far as handleing the wwe license.

Mattel by FAR! Looking at some of my old jakks figures I wonder why I spent money on them! There def were some good figures but they honesty look terrible compared to mattel. The biggest misses for me with jakks were the lack of detail which were REALLY bad and the scale lol most rey mysterio figure could look the undertaker right in the eye.

People that say Jakks had better head sculpts have selective memories cause I recall them having just as many misses as they did hits

It's always been Jakks.
Better for posing, better for animating, better for buying Ralph's clothes and scaling against ladders. Also I'm loyal to jakks and always have been. I don't understand how so many people can turn their back on a company. But then again, I turned my back on WWE enough times.

Where as Mattel Legends only made it to 6 waves. So explain that one to me? I mean Mattel, according to many, has a far better product so why couldnt it make a deep legends line? Jakks use to cost half what Mattel costs now. not really. Jakks figures still cost the same maybe $3 cheaper but not half of what Mattel does. Jakks gave us Accessories with every figure, unlike mattel. Mattel gives us accessories with every figure. There was only 1 figure i can think of who didn't get accessories and it was Yoshi Tatsu because there was really nothing to give the guy. Jakks has a much deeper roster of characters compared to mattel. I agree with you there. Jakks just happened to be in a better era where everyone was a star and they didn't have to hit or miss on figures because they had such big names to work with. Jakks made a far supeior face sculpt than mattel. I feel Mattel makes no effort to sculpt faces on actual people. I feel Mattel just looks at an image and makes a caricature. You have got to be kidding with this statement bro. Mattel kills Jakks at head scans. Take Jakks Brian Pillman and stand him next to Mattel's and tell me that your statement is accurate. Same with Yokozuna. Mattel is far supperior than Jakks was at Headscans and making superstars accurate. Mattel may miss on a tiny few of them but Jakks missed on almost everyone and Jakks would only get a tiny few of them to look ok. I personally liked the Jakks body molds compare to Mattels, which remind me of the old Jakks R3. Mattel body molds are more supperior. At least the elites are. More articulation and its more solid articulation to where you can pose a guy in a position and they really wont fall over. Jakks DA's were terrible and RA's were cheap. Every Jakks CS I bought you could bend the wrists completely back to touch there forearm and it was stupid. Mattel does "scale" but I've seen it fail on a few figs. Jakks never did scale at all. These are just toys and Mattel kills it for scale. They managed to make Rey Mysterio, Evan Bourne, Sin Cara all smaller than the rest, and Kane, Undertaker, Big Show, Khali etc way bigger than the rest so to me thats all the scale they really need to stand out and crush Jakks. And last but not least, that fresh new Jakks smell was awesome. You can get that with any plastic new toy you buy. So I'll say Jakks was the better company as far as handleing the wwe license. I took the liberty of answering some of these false statements above. My answers are bold of course but idk where this guy gets his info. I understand some ppl prefer the Jakks line but at least be realistic if you like Jakks over Mattel. Jakks did not do supperior as far as handling the WWE line either. Sure they were in a better era but look at BCA's, they kept releasing, re releasing, and re re releasing the same figures over and over again. Then when they got there RA and DA lines. They didn't last to long before WWE realised how much they sucked and had to switch to Mattel. Mattel only been doing the line for 3 years and with out a doubt turned so many collectors over in there favor.

They didn't last to long before WWE realised how much they sucked and had to switch to Mattel. Mattel only been doing the line for 3 years and with out a doubt turned so many collectors over in there favor. You cant be serious about Mattel only being 3 dollars more. Jakks Classics figures were at most 12.99 for 1 figure. Mattel Legends at most cost 29.99 for 1 figure. (before you ask, DM) or Legends regular, 18.99. Now sure Classics were basic and Legends are deluxe but it was the same concept. For more than half the price those Mattels BETTER be deluxe and to scale. Scale was never an issue when Jakks was king. So this whole dumb arguement about Mattel being better because of scale is lame. It's like saying Mattel is better than LJN because the figures can move. Like saying a 2012 Ford if better than a 1930 ford cause the 2012 has a radio and AC. Of course as time goes on things get better. So the day a company comes up with something inovative will Mattel look like garbage to you? Now I remember getting Jakks Basic figs for around 6.99, to 9.99 at stores and those figs always came with accessories. Mattel charges 10.99 to 14.99 for basics and no accesories. So that steeper price is because............ scale? It sure isnt cause of the great accessories, and it sure isnt because of material costs because Mattel figures are generally smaller and lighter than Jakks. To me Jakks made a far superior face than Mattel. Mattel makes face sculpts to resemble a cartoon more than an actual person. To eash his own on this one. A new Mattel figure does not have the same smell as a Jakks figure. I bought only a hand full of Jakks deluxe classics, I never opened them though so I dont know if they are better than Mattel or not. And Obviously Jakks didnt suck cause WWE had them making wwe products for more than 10 years. The Classics went on till the end of the contract, Legends died out in the first year of the contract, you tell me which company handled that merchandise outlet best? Was it Jakks which created a toy line that brought Adult collectors back to wwe, such as myself, and had 28 waves? Or is it the company which, according to you, made better figures but killed off the Adult collector line in only 6 waves? Really that should be the end all to any Mattel vs Jakks Arguement. The day Mattel out lasts Jakks in length of years for making wwe, thats the day it may be debateable.

I second this but also his statement about accesories is completely false along but same with his roster arguement he said the reason they had so many people to work with because everyone was a big star? Youve got to be kidding me! You think they put people like Andy Kaufman, Greg Valentne, One Man Gang, and Abdullah the Butcher. I mean they are all amazing legends if you have the smarkness to know about them (except you, Kaufman!) but I seriously doubt years ago people were saying. "Aw man I really want a Repo Man because hes such a big star" No, instead they made them because they really listened to what collectors wanted. While in mattel we get a new Orton, Cena, Mystero because they don't listen to us, sure we get flashbacks but nothing compared to wht Jakks would give us.

...A new Mattel figure does not have the same smell as a Jakks figure... Stop sniffing your wrestling figures. Try a late nineties McFarlane Spawn figure.

Mettel. My nephew has a collection of Jakks figures, they look horrible. They've been lying under his bed since Mattel started. The Jakks figures I've seen look nothing like what they're supposed to. They miss a lot of detail (not just a little, it's sad how much they missed), no scale - it looks really stupid when Rey Mysterio and Batista are both the same height and build.

I tried giving in to mattel but i cant do it, they feel weird in my hands when i try to pose them and stuff. Jakks are a lot easier to customize too

The day Mattel out lasts Jakks in length of years for making wwe, thats the day it may be debateable. Perhaps you didn't care about scale. But, for me, even when I was a young fella, I HATED that all my BCAs were the same size. Still hated it even more through TTLs-RAs. Then, DAs were just a joke. And, your price argument is invalid. You are talking about the days when figures were $6-8. How many years ago was that? A long time ago really, we are in an economy where EVERYTHING has gone up in price (except my pay, bazinga). So, you add inflation and the fact that Mattel cranks out MANY more character-specific molds as well as MUCH more detailed paint jobs and a more expensive and less-cheap looking plastic. Add those things together and it surely would explain the higher cost. Further, Mattel is still young in their contract with WWE. Look at Jakks at this point in their contract. What? 2.5 years. I'd have to do some research, but they CERTAINLY weren't at the stage that Mattel is at yet. I do realize the market is different now and the bar has been raised, but for any new endeavor, there will be some time needed to sort out kinks. I personally think we'll see the Legends line again. So, there are many things that can not be fairly argued and such things are not black and white.

JP.....YOU CAN'T ARGUE TIME PERIODS BETWEEN THE 2....
JAKKS HAD TO INVENT THE WHEEL.....
BCA's.....UGLY AS ALL HELL TITAN TRON...BETTER BUILT, NEAT FEET SOUND SENSORS BUTT NEANDERTHAL FACE SCANS SMACKDOWN SERIES......THE START OF THE GREAT FACE SCANS R3TECH...SOME SCALE, AWESOME FACE SCANS, THIS TYPE REMINDS ME THE MOST OF Mattel BASICS....? RUTHLESS AGGRESSION (INCLUDING CS, AD, PPV,TRIOS, EXCLUSIVES)......MOST POPULAR...! DELUXE AGGRESSION.....GOOD FACE SCANS, TERRIBLE POSING DUE TO BAD SCALED LEGS, REMINDS ME OF BCA'S...
Mattel......HITS THE GROUND RUNNING WITHOUT HAVING TO DO THE LEG WORK.....THEY TOOK THE DELUXE AGGRESSION IDEA, GAVE IT SCALE, ADDED ACCESSORIES, AND CALLED IT ELITES
Mattel EVEN COPIED JAKKS EXCLUSIVE RELEASES WHEN THEY STARTED ENTRANCE GREATS WITH TRIPLE H, REY AND HBK ALL MODELLED ON PAST JAKKS EXCLUSIVES...!
I WILL SAY THAT Mattel HAVE LITERALLY BLOWN AWAY JAKKS WITH THEIR FANTASTIC DETAIL ON THE UNDERTAKER...!!!
