Mattel needs to not try and take the cheap and easy way out. When a Superstar grows a beard or facial hair, they need to do a new scan in order to get the right texture on the facial hair. You can't just paint facial hair on a face with no texture or it looks like it's drawn on with magic marker. This is what a beard looks like in REAL LIFE: Notice the texture and how it's not all one solid color? Now, here is what Mattel thinks a beard looks like: This is something that they need to fix, and soon.

Agreed, The Rock looks terrible. Looks like I'm saving some money.

You do realize there just toys right? There not real ppl. There just portraits of real ppl. Thing is there just plastic in the end and Mattel does everything on a budget and with in a time frame. I think most the beards look damn good for doing them so small and on an action figure. I would like to see someone paint on a beard though and see if it does look better cause idk, i think MDT does excellent jobs with a majority of the head scans and tattoos and beards.

Plus I think Rock's beard is more fuller than say Randy Orton or HBK so I can see why they would just paint a blob instead of giving it the beard lines they did for Orton and HBK. And wasn't Rock's beard at Survivor Series dyed all black anyways instead of the grey like WM?

Chewdeezy, the promo pic for Survivor Series was taken like 4 months before the actual match when he was filming GI Joe....but his goatee was his usual grey at the actual event.

Oh ok, I wasn't sure and didn't remember. I don't think Mattel will ever add grey to his goatee. It's probably a production cost they want to avoid.

At first glance I thought it was just fine, you guys were being too picky. But after a second look, it does look pretty bad. Looks better from farther away.
And now I will see Abed every time I look at that fig, thanks, Derak!

the Battle Packs Justin Gabriel is the same exact way So is his E12 figure but I think Justin Gabriel paints his beard on in real life anyway so it doesn't look bad. I was hoping for a new headscan with a meaner look. IMHO I always felt Mattel took his L3 head an retooled it to look bald. I have yet to see a figure of The Rock with a good looking bald headscan. Worse case scenario, this will be the the 2nd easiest to find figure in this set and will still fly off shelves since the E14 is still hard to find for some people. I still think mine looks better.

AND YES JAKKS DO PERFECT BEARDS! even if their figures look like gorillas

That picture of The Rock is the final figure? I was really hoping that wasn't complete because that facial hair is worse than terrible. It looks like the figure passed out drunk and MDT decided to draw on his face with a sharpie. Mattel has made good beards in the past. Guys like Jake Roberts and Terry Funk's facial hair had some character to it so I don't see why they can't do it with The Rock.

Orton and Rock are prime examples. They never seem to get Orton's beard right and Rock's is just really bad.

Another thing that annoys me, is the new CM Punk head scan. I thought it looked really good at first, and it does, but after seeing up close picture you can clearly see the beard mold is from when he was facing Orton around WM27, when he shaved a space on his chin. Mattel just covered this by painting his normal beard over the part he shaved, but you can tell there's a smooth space there. I pay really close attention to detail, and things like that just irk the hell out of me. First off, why is this scan just now being used, when he hasn't had that look in almost a year?? Secondly, at least release the scan with the beard painted correctly, in a BOPPV set or something.
