The reason for this poll is to see the mindset of the collectors who buy WWE Elite figures. For me, the biggest selling feature is the articulation and detail. From day one I collected Elite Style figures, and I'll to continue to only collect Elite style figures.
However, since prices are rising, and I do have to be more conscious about what I spend since $160 a week goes to my daughter's daycare services (not that anyone cares... lol), I find myself paying more attention to not only the figure, but it's accessories, and the particular popularity of the figure that I am buying.
Example: Yesterday I stumbled across an E12 Justin Gabriel figure (I know for some of you out there this is a pegwarmer, but in my area this one is a little scarce) and I decided to pass on him. Here is why... $16.99, only comes with an outdated T-Shirt, and I don't see him on TV enough. I actually feel somewhat bad for thinking this way and I would imagine he himself would feel insulted if he read what I just posted here. In the past I would have just bought him, but since I do have to be carful about what and who I spend $ on I passed on him. Again, $16.99 and all I get is a shirt. I only have enough money for one figure this week and knowing my luck I'll run into a Booker T or Bossman figure and be SOL.
Now, on the other hand, if he came with lets say an Elite sized ladder, a Tag Belt, or even something as common a microphone or a chair (because you can never have too many of those) I probably would have bit the bullet and got him. Heath Slater would be in the same boat for me but that ladder does sweeten the deal.
Am I the only one who bases their purchasing decsions like this?
Please, share your methods.
