Anyone else find them to be really smudgy and plain ugly? Has anybody gotten a Kamal that was 100 percent perfectly painted? Almost every Mattel i get has atleast one smudge or paint rub on it.
As much as i disliked Jakks at the end, their paint work was alot cleaner!

I have seen a few figures with rubs and such which is why I prefer buying figures in stores to get a good paint job.

I do that as well what bothers me is when I am in store and I find two figures of the same character that look excellent in terms of paint jobs, so I spend like 10 minutes holding the two figures and staring at them trying to notice any smaller defects in its paint job so I look like a crazy 21 year old toy pervert or something

oh I just remembered last week wjem I was at Toys R Us and I noticed a perfectly UNOPENED WM heritage Jack Swagger
but he had skin color scratches on his black singlet like as if the figure was given to a little kid who started slamming it floor a couple of times before it was packaged
oh and he also had TWO lazy eyes lol

She has an uncanny eye for these things. Takes a lot of the pressure off. But then I have to agonize over the purchasing decisions with limited funds, so I end up standing there for long stretches of time too.

Well what they did apply was smooth and clean. We can't take that away from Jakks. There figures were so much cleaner than Jakks. What are the differences in the paint each company uses and the method by which they are painted?

Mattel is great at attires, and tattoos, but hair color isn't one of their strengths. They do not know how to get colors right. It took them 2 years to finally get Triple H's hair color right, and they do not know how to shade hair for guys like Randy Orton, or John Cena. The BOPPV John Cena has a great headscan, but I feel the close shave hair around his head could have been air brushed better because he isn't completely bald on the sides or back on his head. In Randy Ortons case they put too much color on his head.
They suck at beards too.

That does bother me as much as that they can't get hair color right. DANIEL BRYAN IS NOT A GINGER!!

I'm just happy mattel is making the greatest figures of all times. Sure most of my figs have paint smudges, but atleast we don't have balloon arms and heads.

I usually just make sure the face/eyes are painted well. Not really had any issues w/ paint apps from any Mattel figures that I own. The first Mr Perfect I got (online) had cross eyes so I HAD to get a better one. It was worth it!

I haven't had a problem with my mattel figures as of yet. I find some of the headscans a little cartoon-ish but i like the variety of torso moulds and the figures are to scale.

I must be lucky because basically all of my Mattel figures have been perfect. I haven't even run into much staining, and I collect almost exclusively Elites.

Although I have an extensive Jakks CS collection, I much prefer my Mattel figures. I will admit that a few of my Mattel figures have paint jobs are a tad sloppy, but those figures are very few and far between. I think my Kamala is actually perfect. The paint job is very clean.

Only ever really had one problem with paint smudges and that was the first two pack Jericho. Besides that I've had no issues.
