What does everyone think about this movie? I saw it for the first time in a long time today and really watched it and got the bigger picture of it. That movie def. is inspiring and is a great movie. Anyone else love it?

Pretty bad movie, it just followed the garbage 80s-90s formula of (insert employee) going against establishment. The ending always baffled me. We just see this story about how she is trying to reach these youths then she bolts.

I met the woman who wrote the book that the film is base off of: My Posse Don't Do Homework. She was pretty cool but she got screwed out of royalties and stuff from that movie. The movie made millions but she only saw $10 grand or so after everyone else took their cut. She seemed a little bitter about it. She still works with troubled students, too.

I have a neighbor who works with kids with disabilities and also a cousin who does. My cousin taught troubled kids for a while but left to move with little kids, she used to tell me stories how gang leaders would just hang out in her classroom b/c she was a cool teacher. She told me one of the kids got shot and that made it hard for her too.
