I went out to TRU in Melrose Park IL yesterday and they had the new battle packs in. I picked up the Macho Man two pack. I want to go back and get the two guys that come with the belts later on.
Anywho, I noticed the Macho Man towers over Cm Punk. It got me to thinking, is CM Punk really that short? Or did Mattel just drop the ball on the scale with this Basic Macho Man?
I compared my Basic Macho man to my All Stars Macho Man and to my Defining Moments Macho Man. The Basic one is considerably taller than the other two.
So my question is this, do the Basic figures and the deluxe figures have two seperate scales? Or is this just an error on mattels part?

He looks tall, doesn't he? He appears tall even before holding him up against another figure. I measured him up against an elite Orton, they look about the same height. I think Punk and Savage are about 6'2".

Guys you do realize that the Basic Macho Man is using the wrong calves and boots right? He's using mid-sized boots instead of the tall boot mold and longer calves instead of the short calves that go with the tall boot mold. That all adds to his height in basic form.
So yes the figure is very out-of-scale and inaccurate to boot (no pun intended).

So then basics and elite figures follow the same scale? This is just an error? Basics and Elites follow the same scale. Considering Mattel owns a basic tall boots/small calves mold as per their EG Million Dollar Man figure, I'd say that yes it is a major error in choosing the wrong parts for this Macho Man basic.

I never opened my 2 pk. Think I ordered it before seeing any pics. The short boots just look bad to me, and I have all the other Machos anyway. Just got excited and ordered for no reason really.

I posted this question the other day in the Punk V Macho Man thread. As soon as I opened it I felt like something was off about Savage, until I quickly realized that it was his height.

I'm guessing the reason behind using the taller calves is so they could add the white wrapping around the knees and still have it show under the large kneepads. But it definitely makes the figure look really weird.

I think Mattel rushed the 2-Pack and messed up choosing the wrong boots.

It's ok, because Macho Man was larger than life!

I just got mine yesterday and already fixed it. I'm not sure whose calves I used, but I swapped them. I can post a picture tomorrow. But I also think using the short boots and massive, wrapped calves looked pretty bad.

I have to look into swapping calves. Remember the problem with Mr. Perfect's height? In my opinion Macho's is far more noticeable.

Normally all their lines (Basic/Elite/FlexForce) are scaled together, but I think what happened with the basic Macho is they don't have a smaller lower leg (knee to top of boot) & tall boot mold like they do with the Elite so they had to use the longer lower leg with mid cut boot which makes him too tall.

I noticed that he looked taller from pics but I don't think it is a HUGE issue. I don't get very many basics but this is one I might get just to display at work or something.

Here's hat picture I promised. Again, not sure which calves I used, as I got them in a parts lot, but it fixes the height problem.

I got this figure a while ago from RSC. Have to admit, it's a big disappointment.

PJ, doesn't the EG Million Dollar Man have tall boots and short calves in basic form?
