Hey guys, so my Punk/Macho 2-pack arrived from MattelShop.com today. I noticed the belt isn't painted but I believe I read on here somewhere the other day that there's a painted version? Is that true? Is the painted one or unpainted more rare or? Just curious if I should wait to open mine and pick up a painted belt one instead if it exists?

The painted one isn't "rare", it's just luck if find/receive the painted one. There is a painted version!!!

as of now I have seen equal amounts of both versions floating around. When I ordered 2 of them from RSC I got one painted and one non painted. what i would like to know is if the non painted ones were done on purpose or if it was an accident!

It's hit or miss. I got mine from RSC and was lucky enough to get a painted one. Mattel has said in the past that what we call "variants" are actually errors, so I'd assume yours is an error in it not having the painting. As far as I know there's no more value in one over the other.

Alrighty well I was mostly just curious if there was a painted version. I'll hold onto this one and save it til I find a painted one. Thanks for the quick feedback, much appreciated!

Thanks for the quick feedback, much appreciated! thats exactly what I did, I got my Punk/Savage from Ringside and it didnt have the painted belt so I figured maybe it was a variant or an important error of some sort, so I've left mine MOC when normally i'd open it instantly. Can't wait to find one with a painted belt so i can open it.

I've been meaning to post a question about the 2 Pack myself. That being, why is the basic Savage figure significantly taller than the others that Mattel has done?

That painted belt looks nice. I'll wait til I find it painted at TRU and probably return this one. Just keep it MOC til I find it.

Ordered mine from Mattel. I hope it's painted. If not, I'll exchange it eventually @ retail. I would love to find multiple 2 packs in one store and see if some are dull and some are painted.

Yeah those are hitting TRU now across the country. I read somewhere that this 2 pack series is hitting, the basic set with layla is hitting, Elite 13, and numerous other stuff. So its a good time to start keeping an eye out at your TRU over the next month. My boyfriends was saying that these are not rare. They are just errors on some without painted belts, and the ones with painted belts are how they are suppose to be. There not going to be worth nothing. You may get $50 out of this 2 pack 5-10 years from now though. The rare ones that will be worth something would be that Vince McMahon mail away figure as not everyone has him, Michael Cole cause you have to buy 4 figures just to make him, and the guy in elite 1 that seems to cost a ton on the bay that i read were not allowed talking about from the chinese auctions post. Divas may be worth something to since there so hard to find at cheap prices and never seem to drop.

I received mine today from Mattel Shop and was wondering the same thing. Also, what is the deal with the socks/tape showing so much at the bottom of the knee pad? It looks really weird and is kind of making me dislike the figure. I love the Punk though!

Ordered mine from Mattelshop. If it's painted, great. If not, oh well. I'm not bothered too much by it honestly. The only TRU around here is awful, so the chances of me ever seeing these there are very, very slim. They haven't had anything new since the WM set with Miz, SCSA, Taker, and Swagger.

If Mattel sends me the unpainted one I'll still be happy just to have it. I know I'm never gonna see them at retail. Even if my stores get the series in (they're stuck on Nexus and Orton/Edge), they'll be swiped up by whichever scalper, modern Punk fan, or classic Savage fan sees them first.

A somewhat related question: why is there no singles Basic short-haired CM Punk out yet? We can have a Brodus Clay and Alex Riley basic, but no Punk basic in his current look? Would like to see how those sell. With Punk (others being Cena/Orton) being one of the top 3 stars, will Basic short-haired CM Punks warm the shelves like Cenas and Ortons?

I'm pretty sure they halted Punk figures in the line when it was uncertain if he was going to re-sign. And I can imagine that Punk figures won't warm shelves until there is a glut of them. I mean, Punk has the casual, internet, and now kid fan bases going for him, but he really hasn't had that many figures with relative to Cena/Rey/Orton. Plus he has enough interesting attire choices that make his figures more special and unique than John Cena's different colored shoes or Randy Orton's black trunks with different colored lines.
