Put that sh*t on credit! WTF? Why are people smiting me for trying to help them out and keep the line alive? lol Probably cause ya over exaggerated it saying if it didn't sell in a day it was a failure and tellin ppl to buy it tomorrow rather than saying there next check they get to please try and get one to support the line. Idk ppl just like to smite ya for any reason on here regardless of what it is, but that would be my guess. The only reason ppl say its a failure after a day is because they want you to come buy as many as possible and get there pockets rich. Other than that, a line is not a failure in a day. Like i said above, now the rockers, that one failed and we probably won't see any more tag team legends cause of that as its been 2 months now and there still easily accessible. Its not me saying it's going to be a failure, this is how Matty Collector works. They demand that things sell out super fast or else they consider them to be sales failures. I'd like to see more figures appear on the site and maybe even get a larger variety of packs like 2 packs, 3 packs, accessory sets, etc. Unfortunately, unless it's presented in some kind of shocking format most people wouldn't pay any heed to my warnings. But, hey, after Andre sits there for 2 weeks before Matty takes him off due to low sales and says that getting anything past this year's figures probably won't happen due to poor sales, I don't want to see any of the usual whining. Matty's motto is to buy whatever they make, even if you don't want it, just to show support for the line.

News flash: Matty considers it a failure if it doesnt sell out within an HOUR.

Boy Wonder let them, with all their experience (sarcasm) with Matty Collector (here is where everyone will claim to be an expert) say it doesnt matter yet those of us with Club Eternia and such really have NO experience in the matter.

Andre is the only one that might sell out in one day. I don't see the other ones selling well at all.

The 2012 Legends line is going to be a tough sell. $180 for all 6 legends throughout the course of the year. I don't see many 1 day sell outs unless the production amount is low. We'll see.

The only thing that is holding me back from buying 2 Andre is the shipping method of Matty, i'm scared at the fact that it might not get to me within a month or so or worst my order will literally not get to me...

i love how praises are given when people on this forum blasts mattel on how they conduct things, but then when time comes and money is the main issue everyone craps on mattel? Luckily this is the action figure world where all comments are based on what have mattel done for us latley,... Later.. Marks..(much cooler when ziggler sez it)

Let's get real guys - the only "big" names of the six Legends for 2012 is Andre and Liz, both at the start and end of this year. These two are probably the only ones with a realistic shot of selling out in a day (which I personally doubt will happen). Bundy, DDP, Arn, and Tully just don't carry the star-power in their names/gimmicks/attires to even be considered a hot commodity.
Hell we all went crazy when we saw the Rockers at a toy fair slated for Legends 2-Pack Series 2 and proceeded to go insane when the line was cancelled and hyped up again when they were going to be released on mattycollector last November. The god damn Rockers are still there!!!!
The sad truth is Mattel will consider Legends a monumental failure due to these low sales. I just don't understand why the brand manager is willing to take a risk like this.

I feel like Andre was slated for a normal release, so they made plenty of him just like the Rockers. I think Mattel will eventually start making less of them as the Legends line progresses, and they get an idea of how many are being sold. Basically I think it will be less Elizabeth's for sell than Andre's.

I don't get paid until Wednesday so no dice from me. I'm not too worried as The Rockers are still available.

LOL ... this thread exploded way out of hand. Some of the follow-up posts are ridiculous. The OP simply said that if you want the Legends line to succeed on Matty, buy Andre as soon as you can afford to do so ... some of the follow-up posts on here are unbelievable. Based on what I've heard, I couldn't agree more with the original poster. If you can afford to do so and you are interested in keeping the Legends line going on Matty, buy him (or multiples, like I'm doing) as soon as you can. What's so complicated about that?? Ugh. For all the crying and moaning we do about the Legends line -- myself included -- people want to know how to get more legends? Buying them right away on Matty, that's how, like it or not. That's the hand we've been dealt. If you really want the line to continue, that may mean buying a few of the online figures you're not really interested in for the greater good of keeping the line alive. I'm not dying to get the Brain Busters, but will gladly do so to try and keep the Legends going. Props to Boy Wonder for saying what I wanted to say in the first place. Buy the figure if you can, support the Legends line! Mark

Mark Mark I get where you're coming from, I really do - but you can't forget one little thing: the poll that Mattel ran for us to choose our top 5 legends had more holes in it than Swiss Cheese. And when the line fails, who do you think will be getting blamed? We are, for those "choices" we made, and for consumers like you that firmly believe if we don't buy every and anything they throw at us then we're at fault for killing the line. Surely it can't be Mattel's lack of market research re: the product, surely it can't be the poor choices of attires they've made, and surely it can't be the lackluster names that found early releases - because I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Hill Billy Jim let me tell you! / sarcasm, no man it's going to be all our fault because we couldn't afford to buy 5 Andres when he comes out. I guess the 8 Terry Funks I bought in the span of a year or so (for customs) didn't impact Mattel's bottom line.

So how does this work, does it go on sale at midnight or am I expected to remain tethered to my computer all day until they decide to put it up?

I guess the 8 Terry Funks I bought in the span of a year or so (for customs) didn't impact Mattel's bottom line. I totally hear what you're saying, man, I really do. I'm not saying I believe "we're at fault" for killing the line if we don't buy them ... just stating what I believe is the current situation in a nutshell. I totally agree that there were problems in the voting process, a LOT of problems in the selection of the first couple waves, no arguments there ... but, right now, we've got a couple figures going up online and if we buy them, there's a better chance of the line continuing, if we don't, they won't. It's just kind of where we are at the moment, unfortunately. @bill Maxwell: Andre goes up for sale at Noon EST, 9 am PST. Mark

I'm not dying to get the Brain Busters, but will gladly do so to try and keep the Legends going. I have never and will never understand that logic. As a consumer why am I going to spend my money on something that I don't want? I don't care if there was a 100% guarantee they would make more if these sold. I'm not going to buy a figure I have no interest in when I could put that money towards something else that I do like.

I'm not going to buy a figure I have no interest in when I could put that money towards something else that I do like. We'll probably have to agree to disagree on this one, but I'll put it this way ... in your collection, would you rather have the Brain Busters and ______ (somebody you really like ... for me, from the last list of options I'd go with Crush, Doink or JYD ... or let's say a bigger character, somebody like Diesel, Sid, if they were released through that route instead of Flashbacks) or no more at all? To me, the answer's pretty simple. Not saying that me purchasing these Matty figures is going to be the ultimate decider or anything crazy like that, but if it can make a bit of a difference -- and I can afford to do so -- I'm going to do it. I'd rather try and do what I can to help the greater good at this point for the sake of the line. Mark
