I missed out on this one a long time ago. How long does Mattel have the WWE License for?

Probably forever. As long as their video game division doesn't do anything illegal.

I think I can remember somebody said the license is until 2014. Unless WWE do not make a new contract.

I'll be honest, I collect DCUC's & ML's & Certain Wrestlers(Hogan, Warrior, MMan), & At one point I was only gonna collect the champions of the past.. Then I ran out of space.. Anyhow, Mattel will do a great job at times, and other times your like WTH? Why are these figures discoloring, or why is this figure warping.?. It will boggle your mind, it's because they save money on the plastic and the paint to try to put out good figs, the problem is the long term Quality of these figs... So I don't know if it'sa good thing or a bad thing that they have the license.

I think the initial deal was to the end of 2014, not sure if it's been extended yet.

Yes, the 1st deal was 5 years - to 2014 but at this point, Mattel gets WWE figures EVERYWHERE -- Toy stores, grocery stores, gas stations, discount shops, etc. I don't see WWE leaving anytime soon. Mattel is the main event of toys.

Yea, I honestly can't see WWE wanting to go anywhere else. The quality and detail Mattel puts in the figures is just great.

Yea the fact that Mattel makes more money for WWE now than the WWE toy department ever has is a good indicator that WWE will extend the deal. I really hope so because Mattel is definitely the best in WWE figures. No one can compete with them.

I had heard that Mattel was who WWE initially wanted to have their action figures made by before the start of the LJN days. I'd imagine that they will renew in 2014 unless it just drastically goes downhill.

til 2014 is when there contract is. I imagine they will sign again to as they do wonderful work. There are a few complainers out there but you have that with anything. Bottomline is that these figures are outstanding compared to what we were getting or ever got and WWE is making some money so im sure they will stick with them. Jakks had there dela since 1996 was when i first found BCA series 1 in stores with Goldust and Bret etc So If Jakks went all those years with out getting the pink slip or leaving there deal, I imagine we will have Mattel for 20 + years or so.

Year end 2014. It was a 5 year deal beginning on 1/1/10. So we have 3 years to get a mid 90's HBK...
Really though, this will be extended. Mattel hit a home run with the line, even if we don't think it's perfect 100% of the time.
