I just noticed this thread for the first time. I'm a huge horror fan. I recommend Dead Alive to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Myself and my show, Return Of The Living Podcast, will be headed to the set of "The Doom Chapel" tomorrow. If you haven't heard of it it stars every ones favorite up and coming Horror star Bill Oberst Jr. www.facebook.com/TheDoomsChapelHorrorSeems like a pretty good flick. We will be going down Monday to see the big death scene then Tuesday for the day to get interviews and hopefully film our own cameos!!!.

Really really considering reopening benevolentstreet. I am starting to miss horror journalism quite a bit. I got so burned out before as it started feeling like work. It got kind of big and all my writers got caught up in other things that took up their time and understandably so. I was just as guilty as anyone, but I'm starting to get the itch to potentially start it back up. So maybe...

Saw there's a Friday the 13th complete saga blu-ray set that's slated for Sept. I have the 1st 3 already. I kinda just want 4 & 5, but mostly 5.

I'll definitely be getting the Friday set. I've owned every released Friday film on Vhs, Dvd, and soon blu ray. They also come with 12 ultra violet codes which I've only recently embraced. So that's a perk. I've heard a lot of complaints about the absence of new special features but with Crystal Lake Memories coming and at a whopping 7 hrs, I'm not sure what more anyone could want to know that we haven't been told. We're never going to get uncut versions other that what we've already gotten with the first movie. Paramount mishandled the cut footage and it's been said a few times that it's unrepairable. Some of the part VII foootage was shown on the killer extras disc and it was not pretty.

So is this Blu Ray set just re-release of the previous special edition that came out or new cuts?

My guess is that it's just hi def versions of the most recent Friday releases.

I really wish they could some how do unrated on all version. We have heard so many stories how the MPAA ruined these films i would kill to get them all uncut.

Hatchet III My least favorite of the three, but nowhere near a letdown. There's more comedy than gore, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
V/H/S 2 The alien abduction slumber party makes this worth watching. The POV zombie short combines the two most played out themes in horror, offering nothing even slightly interesting. Overall, it's on par with the first.

Nobody else wants to watch horror until the next awful ghost movie hits theaters?
Berberian Sound Studio was ok. It really seemed like there wasn't an end to the movie. The first 70 minutes were a bit slow, but seemed to be leading up to something great. Nothing great ever happened. As far as way too artsy, almost horror movies go, it was very watchable.

Never noticed this thread but I'm a huge horror movie nut! My favorites are all in the 80s and early 90s. Some of my favorites and ones people should check out if they haven't seen or heard of them: Be warned though some of these are horror comedies/really cheezy but just makes them more awesome
Brain Damage Frankenhooker Street Trash Bad Taste Dead Alive Return of the living dead 1 and 2 Night of the demons 1 and 2 Class of Nuke em high Cemetery man Slime City The Stuff Night of the Creeps Monster Squad Terrorvision Waxwork Killer Klowns from outer space Uninvited (this is about a little killer mutant thing that lives in a cat)
and theres so many more!

I wasn't crazy about the first and view it more along the lines of a guilty pleasure, but boy oh boy, III made the first look like a masterpiece.
I agree with you about V/H/S/2, the zombie short was the weakest part of the film. I think as a whole I prefer the second to the first.

Coffinjoe: Quoting me in your second post? That's no way to make friends around here.
Thanks for watching a horror movie that isn't the last haunting of the exorcism of the remake of...
My wife enjoyed Hatchet III, which says a lot. It may not be what major release horror fans like, but it is a worthy third entry to a solid series. V/H/S II probably didn't win any new fans over, but it was worth a watch.

Went to The Conjuring last night. If you like Insidious you'll probably enjoy this flick. Like Insidious it doesn't offer anything new,but rather just reintroduces old ideas with a modern flair. There were moments of greatness and plenty of sigh worthy moments too. I'd give it a C+.

My lady friend has been suggesting I watch Trick R Treat for months now, and I finally watched it last night. Have to say I heavily enjoyed it. The Sam character is really interesting and I'd like to see more of him.

Watched the conjuring last night, was totally dissapointed. It was a comedy for me more than any thing. I watched Mama earlier that day, just wasn't a good horror day
