If you dont like it THEN DONT BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are people here who have bought everything that WWE Mattel has put out. They want to continue to do so. Your response is irrelevant.

Constructive criticism is absolutely fine. It's just that some people here sound like they are trying to get an angry mob together and start a revolt against Mattel. And when you say that Mattel should have just given us the dull belts in the first place you are settling. By saying that you are saying that even though Mattel could have given us shiny belts they should have given us the dull ones so we wouldn't expect the shiny ones. I disagree with that. Had they given us the nonshiny belts we wouldn't have known any better and been fine with it. But b/c they have already produced a better product and you know its available thats settling. Big diff. I agree some ppl are getting upset and going a little extreme but if that's their way of expressing how they feel I have no problem with it. I'm not looking for an argument but considering that Jakks was doing shiny belts, I'm sure people would have found a way to complain about the belts not being shiny. Also, people are free to express their opinion however they want, but then they will be the same people complaining that Mattel stopped interacting with us when it's because of their extreme complaining.

No arguments at all brother. I'm just responding to ur comments. But I feel that the original belts were almost perfect, minus the spinner belt which was a pain to push through the holes in the back. Now we get these ugly looking belts. I mean come on these are pretty much the same belts that come with the flex force figs.

I agree with the belts at least make those realistic!! but at the same time, dont buy the repainted lookin Miz lol your only getting him for a Raw Moneyi n the Bank Briefcase anyways so why would ya even buy it, when you could just buy Sheamus for the WWE Championship then buy E9 Miz for that US Championship i mean why would ya even need the new Miz then?? also there really wasnt all repaints in this set like everyone says. John Cena got a new headscan, Christian got a new headscan, Punk is a new headscan, Wade is a new figure, that means Rey Mysterio and Miz are the only repaints in the set!! nextly i am still convinced my E9 Miz looks alot different face wise compared too this E11 one. Mine is so so angry so this Miz is prob not a repain either unless bad pics are bein takin but i seen some really up close ones so idk mine and the new one look nothing alike. with mine being alot angrier so im saying for me, Mysterio is the only re paint of the bunch. And listen, the only 2 dull accessories in the whole set is Reys shirt (which i think they wanna try something new because all those black cloth shirts are rubbing off on figures and marking them up big time so this plastic shirt, may not be a bad idea for once one certain ppl) and that Dull WWE Championship! Which i can agree with you it is the worse and it looks like the Night of Champions 4 pack has been painted on. But maybe there is reasoning for this. Maybe its cause they are dropping Sheamus in the Best of 2011 Elite set and they want reasons for him too sell too. i mean as it stands were all gonna buy the new Miz regardless of that title too get the briefcase and were gonna buy Sheamus if we dont already have him, for that WWE Championship belt. In a way, mattel is making sure there products sell and making money off it which is the point too owning a company. I can understand what there doing and ya'll are juts mad there finally gonna make some money and not go under like Jakks did

Well..after this thread we are going to have to CANCEL that Trent Baretta figure!
Just kiddding. Hopefully this will be my final words on this subject. Every wave of figures we design has to meet a budget. This is true for every product put out on the market. When we begin to design a wave we plan to include as much as possible. During the course of production we have to make hard and critical decisions to make sure each wave hits its budget. In recent cases this has inlcuded eliminating the shiny VUM coating from some belts, as this is an incredibly expensive process for the limited productions runs on the belts ( Barbie can include VUM on their products because they can stretch the costs over production runs that are at least 5 times as large as ours). When we decide to eliminate something we try to make this decison based on whether that belt has been offered with VUM before, or if we are planning to inlcude it in the future.
I am remarkably pleased by reading the comments in this thread that most people seem to get this. Productions costs in the toy industry are increasing at a fast rate. This is not a surprise. There is a reason why most new action figure lines launched are now at the 4" scale as opposed to the 7" that was the standard not even 3 years ago.
Now I have to go back to work (Not Boss) Bill

This was a cost cutting measure right (vac sealed cost more than the dull)? As was eliminating stands & name tags. As was making rubber shirts. (all that credited to interviews done with mattel team) Why did they cut costs from the quality of the actual product and still have such over the top packaging? IE: walmarts brand (great value) has cut costs over the last year by making very basic packaging (normally plain white with blue or black lettering). Now obviously I'm not saying to go that extreme but take away what you can from the package to still satisfy MOC collectors and see how much you could save there. My concern is it isn't going to stop here. Soon we will see less back of the figure design , less colored tattoos and less detail on the figure attire and then we are back where Jakk's left off. I hope I am proved wrong moving forward.

To keep them in line with the Elite price range from a consumer standpoint that seems logical.

We understand that this is a cost cutting measure because production costs are going up and budgets need to be met......but WE are the only ones suffering here. You keep taking away details to meet your budget, and eventually you meet your budget....but what about the figures we are still expected to pay FULL PRICE, yet those figures no longer come with the full details?
Trust me, regardless of how much detail gets removed or if the shirts go from cloth to rubber or not.....Mattel is still making a profit on these figures. It does NOT cost $15.99 to produce an Elite figure unless you include a steak dinner with it.
I understand that the company wants to make a profit, and it will regardless, but to meet your budget you are putting out figures of lesser quality and expecting us to pay the same price or MORE as when the figures were not being raped of their details by budget meeting measures.
Bottom line, it's not fair to me to have to pay full price for a figure that doesn't have full details. I don't feel sorry for the company who probably has little kids in China make these things for like 79 cents a piece and then spins it for $15+ in America. This is just Mattel not wanting to lower their earnings, which are already high above production costs, and they are sacrificing the quality of the product.

Mattel doesn't set the prices that stores charge and Mattel doesn't see $15.99 per figure They probably get 1/3 to 1/2 of that. They have a SRP , but obviously places don't follow this suggestion to make there own profit.I'm sure Mattel sells to 3rd party stores for far less and bases that on sheer volume. What ever the reason, they will hit a wall with cutting costs and cause a higher SRP resulting in less sales and overall less interest from me and many others I'm sure. This is however what we are stuck with, so fill up my cup (at the moment) I still like cool-aid.

Now I have to go back to work (Not Boss) Bill I doubt you'll be able to answer this, since you're not the one cutting the budget, but how is it that the brand is doing so well, and yet the budget is continuing to get cut? Shouldn't it be the opposite (give the biggest budget to the brand that performs the best)? That's what I think people struggle with; the fact that they have the money to continue on with what they've been doing, but they choose not to, seemingly out of pure cheapness/greed. I really don't understand why anyone's "calling you out" though, because that obviously has nothing to do with you...it's not like you can just say "Screw the budget" and make what you want.

Mattel will charge what they need to charge to make whatever profit they deem necessary. If you don't like it then you don't have to buy it. If enough of us don't buy the products for the price Mattel wants to charge then Mattel stops making them. It really is that simple.

I guess I don't see why you wouldn't make 2 or 3 Elite waves worth of belts at once or more, if it costs too much to only make the limited amount of 1 wave at one time.

I doubt you'll be able to answer this, since you're not the one cutting the budget, but how is it that the brand is doing so well, and yet the budget is continuing to get cut? Read his post thoroughly, he answered this: As he said, critical decisions have to be made to keep to the decided budget. If Miz had the shiny belt, we may have had painted armbands (instead of removable) on Punk and Barrett. Which on one hand is fine, we're used to getting painted armbands on Nexus guys so we'd never have known the difference, but hell, we've already got a shiny WWE title... We don't already have removable Nexus armbands. So I think they made the right choice in cuts (although I'd have preferred Miz to come with an "I'm Awesome" t-shirt rather than a WWE title anyway).

What the man is saying is that they get a seperate budget for each wave to work with. So, given to them for Elite 11 will not go to PPV 10, as an example. Hope that helps.

My big problem is that Mattel is cutting corners left and right in order to "cut production costs" and they are continuing to do so at the expense of the consumers. Honestly I don't care what problems Mattel is suffering because of the Bratz lawsuit, that is their problem and they shouldn't try to fix their problem by making things cheaper in order to regain their loss. My arguement is simple Mattel has pulled a bait and switch on everyone, they show us this fantastic figure with all the bells and whistles and then you see it and its crap. They can afford more than most give them credit for, 6-7/10 Elites released are simply repaints with a few new people thrown in. The parts that make up every figure have been designed and are reused again and again just look at Rey Mysterio, John Cena, Randy Orton those 3 never change its only a paint variation. Mattel is not spending more money on new sculpts for them though there is the occasional new head for people. As far the "new" figures go they are in the same boat they are reused parts from others that look the same how many figures use the HHH chest? I simply am calling out Mattel on their lack of quality and want answers as any customer would when they feel the quality is beginning to slip. I did this and I see I am not alone when I feel Mattel is dropping the ball, though some people are quite content with this lapse of quality. These figures are "Elite" for a reason they are supposed to be the best and are aimed at collectors more than children, as a collectore I expect the elite treatment for these figures. So long as the package reads: HIGHLY-DETAILED ACTION FIGURE * AUTHENTIC RING ATTIRE" that is what I expect esp at the price I pay for said figure. I didn't tell them to include x amount of accessories they decided that. If you ask me the "authentic ring attire" includes everything on their person going to and coming from the ring if they are the champion the belt is part of their attire, they wear it or carry it. So there is no excuse for quality lapse in my mind. Keep in mind when I typed this I did so calmly, I was not angry so don't think I'm attacking anyone. I am simply arguing my case.

I kinda get what bill was saying. Their budget is X and they can't go over it. So if prices are increasing such as plastics and fabrics they have to cut something to stay at their budget.
Just when you go to purchase an item like a car, I wanna buy a car at $20,000 and no more. So you try ur best to find a car within that price.
With that being said I wish they would cut costs with the other accessories and not the belts. If Miz didn't come with a briefcase and instead got a shiny belt I would prefer that.

Your example makes no sense. Don't you mean the Elite 11 budget is separate from Elite 12? Same series different waves? Wouldn't that be a better example? Because if that's not the case then I am saying maybe budget per series isn't the way to go, because it might be cheaper to make titles for future series ahead of time instead of each time they want them.
