I know a lot of people disagree with this, or even flat out hated the movie... Paranormal Activity. Nothing, ever, has even come close to bothering me the way that movie did and still, to this day, does. I was never the type of person to be freaked out or bothered by horror movies. I could watch pretty much anything and sleep soundly at night, never to think of it again. Paranormal Activity changed that. Not only did it keep me awake for days, it weakened my mental psyche when it comes to any and all horror movies. Films I could have watched without even flinching five years ago now drive me insane. No film has ever had that effect on me before, and I strongly doubt another ever will. I'm absolutely terrified of what I can't see, and that's what made me so uncomfortable when watching Paranormal Activity. Everything felt so real, so menacing. I saw the movie twice in theaters and haven't been able to watch it again since. I own both films, primarily out of respect to the filmmakers, as I doubt I'll ever watch them again. The other thing that absolutely terrifies me is the Marble Hornets Slender Man series on YouTube. I'll tell you, a few guys with a camera and a knack for story-telling made a far more compelling saga than nearly any horror movie franchise could dream of doing. It's terrifying, so much so that I can't even continue watching them. That is some deep sh it, ever though about seeking mental help?. How can it keep you awake for days?. Not trying to be cruel. I didn't meant that I didn't actually sleep, I should have clarified that I had trouble getting to sleep for several days in a row. Eventually, I would doze off, but for several nights I would think about when I went to bed.

I would say Paranormal Activity hasn't really scared me but rather put me in a position of not knowing what to expect. Horror/Scary movies don't really scare me because I love them and pretty much know what to expect however Paranormal Activity and Paranormal Activity 2 left me sitting in suspense and jumping at some parts.
As a kid I was scared of Gremlins and Child's Play

For those saying It, watch Nostalgia Critics review and see if it is still scary.

An honorable mention to the original Halloween. Extremely creepy and uncomfortable film. Another of my favorite films.

None of the movies I've seen really scare me, There's a few bits that make me jump but thats just because of the sudden things appearing.

The 1st scream scared me when I was a kid...I think I was like 10 or 11 when I saw it and it freaked me out...
I've never watched the exorcist mainly due to the hype around it...same with the Blair witch project...
I'd also say that the remake of the ring was freaky...
A lot of the films that I'd heard was scary or that I refused to watch as a kid I ended up watching in my film studies class, and ended up really liking, like the shining, TCSM etc

This movie in my opinion is the best horror film ever made. It's beautifully disturbing because the movie's plot could probably actually happen. I recommend to everyone who hasn't seen it or heard of it.

I was afraid to walk from my friend's front door to my parent's car that night.

ah yes, I remember a friend showing me 'that' clip on youtube. I couldn't last 10 seconds (I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere). It's funny because I'm not remotely startled by gore, but give the character a creepy mask and strange bodily movements and I sh*t bricks. But yeah, if the part I saw is anything to go by, I don't think I'll ever be watching this haha.

I just spent about an hour trying to find out a movie I was horrified of, It was Stephen Kings Sleepwalkers. I couldn´t sleep for days.
The first Disc of IT Was scary, the second Disc just rambles on and I can´t even watch it all, second disc is a waste of time.

To this day I rarely watch horror films, thanks to the fact my sister used to torment me with the Freddy Kruger rhyme despite only seeing bits and pieces of the Nightmare movies. The only movie I'm not scared of in that series is Freddy vs. Jason because I laughed my ass off that whole movie. The only horror series I like is Final Destination despite the fact the first one creeped me out.
