personally i am only collecting certain figures that i really want,i have certain series, 1/1000 etc... i also am collecting the entire legends series as i think Mattel's legends are far and above much better then Jakks...i refuse to get 2 packs other then steamboat/jericho but i was a steamboat mark...i do agree though its getting pretty redundant w/ having the same old guys cena, rey, taker and batista being given to us...heck they even made 3 different kozlovs...i cant wait till series 5 legends comes out and like everyone else hope that Mattel has some surprises in store for us in the coming year.

You don't have to stop buying them entirely. I love collecting toys (not just WWE) but I'm on a student budget, if I buy too much, I can't eat/party for a week haha! I tend to strictly just buy the figures of guys I don't have, or if they've got enough new parts as I feel a bit short changed otherwise. For me, this averages about 1 to 2 figures a month. If I could afford to buy them all I'm sure I would, but limiting yourself never hurt anyone!

I was hesitant to get into the Mattel line too since they don't fit in great with Jakks. But truth is the Mattel figures blow Jakks out of the water. The detail and the amount of softs are just unbeatable.
I was buying them all for the first series but I quickly realized that elite are the way to go. They use the superstar scale well and fit in okay with many jakks figures. The articulation is amazing and great for play. Now I don't even bother with most basic figures. I pick up the occasional rare one like the WM25 Ricky Steamboat.
I do understand wanting to get out of the collecting game. It is expensive. With basic figs at 10 bucks and basics at 15 it hurts.

for the most part,i only buy 1 of each figure (unless it's a serious upgrade, like the new headsculpt on Basic 8 Kofi),so i don't need whole sets anymore....for instance, Basic 9,only getting Natalya....Basic 10,Wade and Zach ,etc...
will say it's been kinda boring around here lately...haven't bought anything at retail for over 3 weeks now....course,that's cause there's nothing new here TO buy that i don't already have....Elite 7 hasn't appeared yet...neither has Signature Series....

I personally get annoyed with the lack of new characters. There's so many repaints with the PPV/Sig Series/WM/2packs lines that the single series main line should have at least 2 new characters every series. Luckily Series 10 fits this model with Zack & Wade. But we still gotta go through stores flooded with lousy series like 8 & 9 before we can get to them.
I wish they'd release each series in a timely fashion too, sometimes we go weeks with nothing (Like the past month and a half) or sometimes there's 3 new series hitting at the same time. I dont get it.

I just buy the ones I want/like, whether it be Basic, Elite, or Legend. I'd like to have more attention towards the Legends this year though.

Now when Mattel first came out i was a little hesitant to buy a new line. I had collected Jakks since 96 when i was a little kid. I am 23 years old now.But i said i'll get the first set of Basics and 2 packs. I quickly found them all and moved onto series 2 and then got into Elite. I have all the Elite, Basics, and 2 packs since they came out up to series 8. I even got the legends and EG upon seeing them. Now i think i am just losing interest like i did in Jakks. The first year was great, every set had new figures, new sculpts, new attires, everything to get excited about. Now? I see Cena in every set with the same things. They took the stands out not that that matters to some of you but it did to me. The Legends are great but i am having trouble with stores restocking. I had a lot of fun when they first came out but now its just the same things over and over. Walking into stores seeing the same PPV sets or the same Elite 6 and 5. I lost some interest in Legends with the lack of news too. We haven't really saw some new protos except series 5 which is just coming out soon. We don't hear of any signings or anything. WE also are waiting for series 2 Legends 2 packs. Sorry for the rant but i don't know if i am the only one who feels like their are borderline done or its just me. What are your thoughts on the lines. I just have to say, you can't have all the Elites and Basics or whatever because Elite 8 still hasn't come out.

I only collect the 1/1000 figures. Those figures are what made me check every store whenever I went out. I made a few non 1/1000 purchases when looking because a few figures appealed to me. Now without the 1/1000's I have no reason to look or collect anymore. PLEASE BRING THEM BACK MATTEL!

I'm a cherry picker so it doesn't bother me. I don't even watch current WWE, I only watch classic stuff so I buy a very limited amount of figures. I buy almost any HBK to come out and I also buy some Legends figures of some of my favs like the DM Macho, DM HBK, Legends Steamboat and SCSA. I problably purchase a figure once a month or once every other month so it isn't so bad, but if you're trying to be a completist it's a bit much.

Now that the line is into Series 7, 8, 9, 10... I pass on things like 2-pks of figures already released and new Cena's, Kofi's, Mysterio's etc. and just get the figures they haven't released already like Sheamus, Zack Ryder, Wade Barrett etc.
I've collected every Elite figure though (because they're awesome)... I might stop collecting the basics and stick to Elites.
