Cheers to all, we have a card....we will see how it goes from here.ok, ok, to the basics. Classical Roleplaying (Efed Style) This is where I believe all rping begins and ends. Its where I started and where most started so, of course, let this be where we start. Since I believe in examples over instruction let us first go to the truest example of what I deem as classical rping. Alex Sean: 99 Problems wfigs.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=wfwfrp&action=display&thread=197041Lawrence Cage: A Winners Shadow wfigs.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=wfwfrp&action=display&thread=198137These are two prime examples of classical rping. Now that we have an idea here is the first lesson. I want to see everyone write a roleplay using classical format(ie: Description, promo, description...etc). You can be inventive and use your scenery both physically and metaphorically. Remember this isnt about winning as much a it is about learning. Enjoy yourself and be creative! Lesson Card #1: Classical RoleplayingDue by January 8th(For holidays and stuff) if we get them all before then, then great!, but its no rush. Johnny Albright vs. Ace Bennet Luke Collins vs. David Handlecatch Jason Jadoa vs. Jack Joseph

Seems like I could really learn something. I don't ever recall roleplaying in that style. Hope I don't completely suck at it.

Special Note: Do not do any dialogue...this you cutting a promo and using scenery...you can use small talk npc but no actual ongoing convos with depth

I don't get it, we're supposed to write about things around us? (us meaning our characters)

I don't get it, we're supposed to write about things around us? (us meaning our characters) It goes like this: Start off with a setting. Have a monologue, showcasing your character. Details of the actions your character is making as they are talking. More monologue. Repeat as much as needed until you feel you've gotten your point across. At least that's what I got from reading the two examples.

yeah I have to agree with luke here, the idea here is to help them learn and a 3 week deadline seems toooo long for someone trying to learn. They aren't trying to spill their guts into these rps, just understand the basics of how to do one, I can't see them needing anymore then one week to rp to be honest, 2 weeks at the max. Thats also just my personal opinion.

ugh, i have a feeling im gonna come up short, but i'll try and see what happens you can't come up short here because it doesn't matter if you win or lose, its all about PROGRESSION. I'm the perfect example or how progression can improve a rper. If I showed you my first xwa match and compared it to the ones I posted before they closed down you'd see a HUGE improvement. As long as you work hard and listen to what the vets are telling you and improve on your work you'll always win.

maybe we should explain the difference between a monologue and dialogue.
dialogue- two people talking to create conversation.
Monologue-One person BY HIMSELF creating co nversation. Basically those creepy people who talk to themselves.
Monologues are the easiest promo to write because its just your character speaking his mind.

I just figured...holidays people enjoy family things....and since its that season where most thing takes hiatus...i figured i would give some time so that people didnt complain about the holidays being the reason they couldnt rp...but if they all rp soon then it will get done quicker...just leaving it to the rpers in the time when family is important.

I would offer to take over, but I have absolutely no clue what you were actually attempting here.
