I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for my computer, actually, none of us would be here if it weren't for computers because WF is an internet website.

No because technology is great. I don't like how technology is the main form of communication. I prefer to talk on the phone or meet in person. Sure technology has it's advantages, but I think some people are too dependent on it.

Um there was still plenty of technology in 2006? Eh, soon we'll get even more technology and we'll be nostalgic for 2010.

LOL 2006? when you were 10?
anyways, I do believe Humans are developing technology way faster than we can learn how to use it, so we need to control that, or it could be bad.

2006, I'd rather go back to 1996. Now those were the "good old days". Also, technology sucks.

I would like to go back to the days where everyone didn't have a cell phone and people were actually outside playing and stuff.

How can people say technology sucks so much when they have an account on a website forum, a tv, a computer and most likely a cell phone and ipod/mp3 player? Really people, none of those things have improved your life at all?

The only time I actually resent technology, is when it gets into the hands of people who utilize it for bad things. Hacks, viruses, money theft, those types of things. But I'm not gonna sit here and lie and say that I wish were weren't as technically advanced as we are today.

I wouldn't want to go right back, but even 2006 not much has changed for me technology wise. I don't bother with like 3 different phones, iPods, computers etc. I've always simply used 1 phone, 1 computer so not much is different for me.

I suspect this will be an ongoing social issue, because with the rise of all this instant gratification technology comes a generation of impatient kids, with entitlement issues and the collective attention span of a gnat. It's manifested itself into virtually everything, today.
Technology is a double-edged sword. Because while the above is a minus, a major plus is something like cell phones. Sure, they're annoying as piss at times, but I think we're all a lot better off having them. Before, if you were stranded somewhere without a phone, you were SOL. There are people who have DIED because they couldn't contact anyone. And cellphones didn't get popular in their present form until the late 90s or so. We're all part of the last generation of people who didn't have that constant "connection" with the outside world at one point in our lives. I know for me personally, at only age 23, it still makes me feel a little old.
I do kind of miss it, in a way. I can empathize with that. At the same time though, I like carrying a huge chunk of my music library in my pocket, opposed to a big ass Sony Walkman that skips all the time, with only 1 album.

That's one of those things I was really stubborn with, but eventually came to grips on. I had spent so much time buying my CDs over the years, and so pround of having all my liners and album art, that no one was going to tell me that stupid MP3s were better than having the disc. As a young teen in the early 2000's with no malls around, it was really hard to come by whatever album you wanted, but I still had a huge CD collection between me and my brothers. I didn't even own an MP3 player until about two years ago. I owned a laptop before I owned an MP3 player. But having thousands of songs at your disposal is an undeniable convenience.
