You would never know you are any different from anyone else around here... wait let me retract that statement. You actually are different from many here. You have better grammar, better attitude, and seem more mature and more intelligent than so many members on here. I don't want to sound mean to other members but it's the truth. Everyone is different and in your case you are a better person because of it. Be proud of yourself! If you function anywhere near in life as you do here on the forum, good for you man! JS

Yes it does. But that isnt necessarily a bad thing. Just be yourself, and stay away from your dad. He sounds like an extreme bunghole.

I'm sorry that you have to deal with that stuff, but just know that you are by far the better person, and you will get farther than him in life, even with your condition.

StoneCold, I have asperger's syndrome. Basically, aspergers is a form of Autism and it means you just have trouble with relationships. I don't let that affect my life. I don't have the biggest group of friends or go to party every Friday night. But I live my life the best I can and every day is a gift. I wish I was a popular person that had plenty of friends and all that but I could be worse off like in a wheelchair, etc. I'm the exact same, but guess what, I have become more sociable as I've got older and wiser. I still have a hell of a lot to learn in dealing with people, but atm my friends are none the wiser No-one knows that I don't like socialising that much, I'm only comfortable with people I know well and trust. But I've just started university at the age of 20, and have had to meet more people in the last month or so than I have ever in any other time. It was sooooo difficult. I really got sick of having to "meet" new people, but I realised that if I were to have friends I'd be comfortable with, I'd have to go to the parties, social events, and go out clubbing with them to help in the future. And I must say - it's getting better and better - I'm beginning to really enjoy myself here, and it's only the start. Perseverence and tolerance need to be your best qualities

Hey man, like everyone said you're you and you can only be you. Keep it up because that's what gonna get you through it all. The thing that should really make you feel proud is that yes, there is something different, okay, but you've managed to cope with it so well that it's almost as if it's not really there at all. Nobody is born perfect, with every aspect about them perfectly constructed. People are so diverse that you seem no different to them than anyone else, and that's because you aren't. Don't let it hold you back though. I struggled for the last five years of university with a learning disability and attention problems but hey, I'm here today and going to get my degree. I sought help from everyone and everywhere I could, I wasn't afraid to combat it and you know what; it's paid off immensly. I wish you the best of luck when you get to a situation where you say "Damn, this is holding me back". Remember, if the shortcut was easy, it'd be the way.

the best people are the ones that are different and have no shame about it. that's real. that's confidence. The weirdos are the fake ass ones that try to act like everyone else and fit in. Be who you are and be proud of it. You only have you to please or pleasure, whatever you wanna do,lol

My aunt lost her arm in a fire at a young age, and, of course, is disabled. She functions fine and does well for herself in society, and she lives a good life. So disablities are erelevent to who you rly are. It's jsut a part of your outer being, that you can't help. But what matters is who you are deep down, and the people who you are close with and love should accept you for who you are.
