Minor complainte I guess but to me it matters. To me Ultimate Warriors expression is a case of poor knowledge on mattels behalf of the character. If you google Warrior, seriously like 99% of his pictures are of him either gritting his teeth or yelling or doing something that shows extreme emotion. Why the Hell on earth would you make a Warrior figure with such a bland expression is beyond me. His whole gimmick was based around his energy. To me the face kills the whole figure because its so not him. Its lifeless. They always do this with Tommy Dreamer figures too. They give that bland expression when Dreamer was another one who was always yelling or showing emotion. Anyone else bothered by this? people used to always complain that the jakks scans were too exaggerated, this is why i think mattel scans have straight faces, could be wrong. i disagree that this is down to mattels lack of knowledge of the warrior character

I dont think Warrior has EVER had a straight face...How could it NOT be lack of knowledge? I see what your saying but personally thats news to me because I loved the Jakks scan.
And offcourse before everyone thinks this is a matter of me liking Jakks over Mattel, Absolutly not, I hated Jakks. But they did get Warrior right
A straight faced Warrior just dont look right, I dont think there has ever EVER been a Warrior figure that didnt have him yelling or gritting his teeth.

from what I can see he's doing the puffing up his cheeks thing, which always reminded me of a gorilla...
my only complaint from that series is that Brian Pillman looks like Steve Tyler

Or maybe it's that it's the first of many scans of the Warrior?

^ Maybe but if thats the case they should have started with one that depicted him better. I also dont understand why the 2 packs piper has long hair and the EG Piper has short hair. It should be reversed. The 2 pack has short hair right on the package for christ sake

I half agree with you and half don't. The reason I half don't is it kinda looks like he's puffing his cheeks up, and he did that quite a lot. But yeah it is a bit too straight faced for Warrior.

Hey 99% of the time Road Warrior Hawk is doing his Gene Simmons thing with the tongue sticking out, yet his scan is very subdued.
I know I'm in the minority that like grimaces like Nikolai Volkoff or puckered-lips like Rick Rude. And there are certain wrestlers whose face is almost a trade mark - can you picture Smash not sticking out his tongue too?
With that said though, I still think the figures are great and the scan/sculpt really doesn't detract from me liking it though.
I thought you were going to post that Warrior's wristband colours are all wrong when compared to the timeframe it's based on.

Totally agree. Warrior had a cartoonish personality and he was always making some ridiculous looking expression. The figure really should have reflected that. Butch of the Bushwhackers is way too subdued too.
I don't understand the desire for straight faced scans, people don't look like walking corpses in real life, people show emotion and lots of it.

The breathing heavy thing is you guys imagination because if he was his lips would be puckered which they are not. And in regards to Hawk not having his tongue sticking out, I also dont like the Hawk figure because his tongue should be sticking out. It was the 1st thing I said when I saw it lol.
Im not one of those people who want all my figures with the same expression, dont get me wrong. But certain peoples expression is part of them. If they make a Shawn Michaels smiling or monotone it really wouldnt matter. But Warrior should always be gritting his teeth or yelling, and Hawk should always have his tongue out.

For those that have never seen Warrior with a straight face:

I can take a picture of me with a straight face too, but that doesn't mean I'm permantely dull and lifeless.
Even in Warriors modern non character interviews, he's very animated, just the like the character is/was.

I'm okay with the headscan, my biggest complaint with the Warrior figure is his attire. Compared to all the colorful outfits he wore over the years, the attire they gave the figure is kind of bland. I'm sure there will be more Warrior figures that will have more colorful attire so it's not really a big deal, I just wish they went with one of his more colorful attires for his first Mattel figure.

The 1st Warrior figure should have 100% without a doubt been the Wrestlemania 7 Attire with Savage and Warrior on the trunks. Its the one figure Jakks could never do because they didnt have Savage, and its Arguable (to me) his greatest attire.
And they should have given him a face with SOME LIFE!
I agree with Quanthor, Just because he has a straight face in some pics doesnt mean its acceptable. Everyone can make a straight face one time or another. But Warrior was NEVER like that, He was full throttle with emotion and just looking at pictures of him you get the sence of energy hes giving off. The toy is lifeless, there is no energy or emotion.
As a HUGE Warrior fan, Im dissappointed with the figure.

I couldn't disagree with you anymore. I love the Road Warriors, but I hated that every Jakks Hawk figure had his tongue hanging out. Sure the first time it was cool, but after that I couldn't wait for a new scan. He didn't have his tongue out 24/7 it was once or twice during an interview and when pinning an opponent. So that scan got old rather quickly. The Mattel Hawk is by far my favorite figure of his. I do agree (yelling) Warrior would have been better, but you can see from the eyes that he is angry. And I don't think his lips need to be changed I can see that his cheeks look puffy like he's breathing heavily.
