Ok, so Im seeing that the tight leg joints on Elites are a common problem. Now Ive read in several topics people saying that they dip the figures in boiling water. So my question to everyone here is if dipping the figures in water damages the paint on the figures? Im asking because I would think that boiling water would make the paint come off or damage the figure by warping the plastic or someone. If someone could fill me in on the potential risk I run by dipping the figures, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys.

The 2 or 3 times I did it, that didn't damage the paint on trunks or on tights

Also, do you like dip it torso deep in? How deep do you put the figure. Sry for all the questions, but Im trying to loosen the joints and dont want to ruin the figure. DMG

Alternatively, you could use a hairdryer to heat them up if you don't want to risk water damaging the paint. I've never had a problem with either.

All of the times I've done it, it didn't hurt the figures in any way at all. How far I dip the figs in depends on what joint I'm trying to loosen up. For example, if it's the legs that are tight, I dip it in to the waiste. If it's the elbow, I dip the arm into the water up to the shoulder, and so on and so forth. I hope I was of some help.

I ran them under hot water out of the tap for maybe a minute and that corrected them.

i honestly use my microwave... 25-30 seconds.. but it can differ per microwave... i just know where to put the timer on mine.. use it for all part swaps and helping stuck joints...
and i have yet to damage a figure... have been using this method for 4 or so years... but do this at your own risk...

Like PJ i use hot water from the tap. Its much easier than boiling water and just as effective.

The Ziggler I picked up yesterday had a stuck left thigh joint. Less than 10 seconds under a hair dryer did the trick.

I don't know why people say boiling water all the time. All you need is hot water from your sink. I usually just let it run for a minute and than put it in a cup. I put the figure's arm/leg/head whatever needs to be softened up in there and let it sit for a minute or two.

Don't like them touch the pan if you use boiling water, that could hurt something. The water can't.

I've had zero "tight joints" in my Elites. My biggest problem with Elites is loose ankle/feet. Almost every Elite I've purchased has had a very loose left foot.
