Just thinking about this the other day, and I really think WWE could use some good manager characters in their product. Guys who are great talkers traditionally were used in this role to get newer talent over or get guys over who were good in the ring but weak on the stick. Then it hit me, who would be a great person for this role? Arn Anderson. Think about it. He has always been able to cut a great promo. He puts guys over whenever he is on camera. He's legendary. He commands respect. When he talks, people tend to take him seriously. I even thought of a stable name he could manage. He was always known as double A, so his group could be called the A-List. (Or if WWE wanted to steal some heat from TNA, he could call them Anderson's A**holes... ) Anyway, what do you guys think of WWE bringing in a few managers in these times? Who currently in the industry would make a good manager?

I was just thinking the same thing this morning. Anderson would be a great Manager.
Jake Roberts is another. Hell even Piper.
Don't know why WWE wouldn't at least try it out for guys who need help to get over.

Arn Anderson is at the top of the list for me as well. I also think Michael Hayes would make a great manager for a Freebirds style Southern team. He might have worked well with Cade and Murdoch. JBL wouldn't be bad either. Dibease has some potential, if he is willing to put as much energy into it as he used to in his prime.

I would love to see managers return.
I think the problem is that the "writers" don't know how to write for them... Heck, they can barely write for the wrestlers most of the time.
The whole structure of wrestling TV right now needs to be altered, and one thing would be to bring back managers.

The last great manager I can think of was Davari.

A heel/babyface Bella twin combination could work, have them actually earn a paycheck.

The Iron Sheik as a manager! Imagine that guy on a mic unscripted!! LOL Now that would make for some interesting NON PG TV!! I'd love to see him go nuts and give one of his crazy rants on live television!!!! Talk about historic!!

Hey E&C, no disrespect my brother, because I honestly didn't get to see much of the Atlas thing, but Gary Hart he wasn't!

Is everyone forgetting Tony Atlas? That kind of worked. Future endeavours is no laughing matter. My favourite managers of recent memory are: Ric Flair, Theodore R. Long, Daivari, Armando Estrada. The last Managers I can remember are Matt Striker and Tony Atlas.

You make a good point about Henry. I was thinking, a way they might possibly work managers back into the business is by setting up something where a good manager ( meaning someone who can bring good mic skills and credibility to the role) comes in to pull some control away from the general managers. That whole evil general manager thing is getting really, really, really worn & tired. On another quick note, they seem to be taking a step in the right direction with the Nexus....could evil stables be just over the horizon? Give these young kids a great manager, a solid mouthpiece to allow them time to grow and figure out which of them will make it in the long run. Obviously they all have the look. A manager will help them distinguish themselves from one another.
