Was having a look through ebay and found this Bret. I would guess it is clearly a copy of Hasbromaniac's prototype mailaway Bret.
The guy is selling a number of customs so it might just be a mix up at his end but I have asked him to clarify the point.

To update he has emailed me back to say they have always been this way. I am quite sceptical though.

i just thought this was a normal bret 2, if id have thought it to be a prototype i would have gotten some info on it and sold it at a much higher price. however ive had this since moc, opened it, played with it, displayed it, now selling it. i cant see why there is such an uproar about it. iv looked at hasbromaniacs and his has white wrist tape which this does not

In my eyes you have done nothing wrong. Not listed as anything special, just a Bret Hart Hasbro, which is what it is. Don't see the point in this thread..

if i was trying to sell something completely rare and had faked it then i wouldnt have it up there with a load of customs. in the case of the bret, the andre, and the ljn figures i have for sale, they are just figures i have collected over the years and dont want anymore, simple as.

If you read the original post I did note that this could be a mix up and that I had asked him to clarify the point.
Either way the matter needs resolving otherwise someone will get screwed over, whether it be the buyer who pays over the odds thinking it's a prototype and it turns out to be a custom or if it's real, the seller who gets offered £30 and settles outside of ebay thinking he's got a bargain.
Fair play to him if this is the true story and hopefully hasbromaniac can shed some more light on this with some further photographs.

Am I missing something? What's different about this Bret? I highly doubt a figure you have had since you were a kid will be in such good condition All of my figures I had as a kid have no scuffs or paint damage. I was concerned with condition even back then, and didn't bash them together.

hasbrocustomsdude can you let us know what your plans are for this item.
Will you still be selling or relisting as a prototype?
Will you be providing more photos, especially a close up of the elbow pads?
