It's Summer 1998, last year was the most successful in ECW history. Not only did they debut on national PPV, but they also got there name out there by cross promoting with the WWF on there flagship show Monday Night Raw. As the company began to grow Paul Heyman knew he needed help, and though his ideas were fresh and took wrestling to a new plateau, he could only do it by himself for so long. Now of course he has help from many of the wrestlers, but he needs someone who isn't an active competitor, someone who can take the book from him and not have an ego to deal with. Heyman found that man in June of 1998, and he begins at the first TV taping in July. What changes will come to ECW? Only time will tell......

ECW News and Notes
-Both WWF and WCW went on a massive cleaning spree this week releasing a bunch of talent, ECW seems to be the winners in this one as some good talent has been released including Jeff Hardy, Andrew Martin, Johnny Swinger, Evan Karagias, Super Calo and more. Although from what we've heard ECW has only contacted Pulbic Enemy.
-ECW Hardcore TV seems to be getting an overhaul by the new booker, look for even more time spent on building storylines up and less matches, but ECW will still be holding Arena shows on months that they have no PPVs and releasing them on VHS.
- A lot of people in ECW are afraid that the recent WWF and WCW released could mean more talent being stolen from ECW. Paul Heyman is known to be very paranoid about this type of thing, and look for him to only push those he thinks he can trust 100%

I didn't really follow ECW, but it should be interesting to where you go with it and what all you do. Good luck.
Could you drop a reply to TNA 2010?

ECW Hardcore TV July Week 1, 1998 Liacouras Center Philadelphia, PA ECW opens with Joey Styles standing in the middle of the ring. Styles- Hello and welcome to ECW Hardcore TV I am your host Joey Styles and we are coming to you from Philadelphia Pennsylvania!!!! Tonight we have an amazing show for you, with.........Joey Styles is cut off by the music of Shane Douglas, who comes out with Francine. Styles- Well, welcome Franchise what do I owe this honor?Douglas- CUT THE ING MUSICCCCCCCCCCC................... Haha, Styles just stand there and hold the mic while the Franchise does business and sells a few tickets.A mix of boos and show your t*** is heard in the arena. Douglas- That sure as hell ain't going to happen because Francine knows she is too much women for any of you fat nerds to be able to handle. Anyways on to business, Taz, you stupid midget, you made the challenge a few weeks ago, and the match was signed, Taz one month, one month is all you have to get ready for the fight of your god damn life. You see Taz I know you better then you will ever know me, I can beat you Taz, I have beat you Taz, but you can't say the same can you? Your time is ticking Taz, because not only am I going to beat you, I'm going to end your ing career! Now hit my music and watch in awe as me and Francine walk out of this god forsaken building like only real stars can!**Commercial** Justin Credible Def. Chris Chetti This match was a pure squash match. Credible was in control the whole time, with Chetti getting very little offense in at all. Credible hit Thats Incredible at 7:44 for the victory. We go to a recap video of the feud between Just Credible and Tommy Dreamer. It hypes there past encounters and talks about the Heatwave 98 Dream Partner match where both men get to choose anyone they want as there partner. **Commercial** Balls Mahoney Def. John Kronus A pure brawl here, they fought all over and beat the hell out of each other much to the delight of the ECW fans. Finish came when Mahoney hit the Nutcracker Suite at 5:42 for the victory.Balls celebrates at the end of the match only to be attacked by the Dudley Boys. They do a beatdown on Balls, then stand over him Obviously this is a feud that is still going on, and the Dudleys are out for blood. **Commercial** Little Guido Def. Super Nove Very good back and forth match here. It was kept at a very fast pace, where either man could've pulled out the victory several times in the match. Finish came at 10:04 when Guido hit the Arriverderci for the 3.Bam Bam Bigelow & Chris Candido Def. The Pitbulls Obviously Bigelow and Candido were sent out to do the dirty work of Shane Douglas who has had his run ins with the Pittbulls in the past. Very hard hitting match here with Bigelow and #2 going at it in what almost looked shoot style a few times. Finish cames when Francine distracts #1 allowing Candido to roll him up for the 3 count at 9:58**Commercial** We come back to Lance Storm walks up to Candido in the back. Storm- Hey Chris, I hope you're getting ready.
Candido- Ready for what?
Storm- Next week
Candido- What the hell is next week?
Storm- I got us a tag title match
Candido- Wait why would you do that? We've tried the whole teaming thing before remember.
Storm- It's our rematch, look I don't care one way or the other if we win them, if we do we go onto Heatwave as tag champs, if not we go onto Heatwave as opponents.
Candido- Wait what!?!
Storm walks off without explaining. A camera quickly rushes away from the scene for an unknown reason, it is later revealed that Taz has attacked Shane Douglas backstage!! Taz beats on Douglas all backstage, and blocking any comeback Douglas attempts. Taz soon takes Douglas all the way out to the ring, Taz seems like a man possessed here, it's quite scary. He rolls Douglas into the ring, Douglas is a bloody mess at this point. Once in the ring Taz grabs onto Douglas elbow with some kind of submission move, and then crashes into the mat with it, you can almost hear the bones shatter. Taz is not finished as he grabs a chair and repeatedly slams it into the elbow of Douglas. Finally security come out to get Taz away, but he looks pleased as medics rush to the ring and attend to Douglas as Hardcore TV goes off the air.

- Great opening segment there. Like it a lot. - Justin Credible win is good. The Dream Partner match sounds interesting. - Mahoney getting a win is great as well. - Like the aftermath as well. - Guido and Nova's match sounded great. Wouldn't have minded either man winning. - Bigelow and Candido win is fine. Glad they went over. - Hmm interesting segment there. The Dudleys have some great challengers. - Wow, Tazz attacks! Love it.
Great show man. Honestly, you seem more comfortable doing this than TNA.

ECW News and Notes.-Word around ECW is that Heat Wave is expected to have the best PPV build up since the company started with there PPVs.
-There's been rumors going around that ECW is looking to go to bi-monthly PPVs.
-The injury angle shot for Hardcore TV this past week seemed to be done to cover up for a real injury has to his elbow that may require surgery. Douglas though still plans on wrestling Taz at the PPV, if he does need surgery look for him to drop the title at the PPV,
-Apparently ECW has sent out feeders to several legends about being in the dream partner match. There is no word yet on who they will go with. Terry Funks name has been thrown around though, as has Jerry Lawlers.

ECW Hardcore TV July Week 2 Dickins Athletic Center Pittsburgh, PA Show opens with Joey Styles in the ring. Styles- Hello everyone and welcome to ECW Hardcore TV!!!!!!! I'm Joey Styles and we are here for an action packed show. But before we go any farther please welcome my guest at this time the ECW Champion The Franchise Shane Douglas.Shane Douglas music hits and he comes out with Francine by his side. Douglas- CUT THE ING MUSICCCCC........... Now I'm not out here to spout off cute little catchphrases or sell goofy looking t-shirts. Tonight I'm all business. Taz you son of a bitch what you did to me last week reveals you to be the big piece of s*** I always said you were, but in the end you screwed yourself buddy. You see you caused so much damage to my elbow that I have to go and have screws put in the mother er. I hope your happy because not only did you up my like you ed up your chances of winning the ECW title at Heatwave, because I will not be medically cleared to wrestle at the PPV. You see I'm a nice guy though, and believe in second chances. Taz I talked to Paul Heyman, and he was willing to do whatever I wanted so that I wouldn't sue his ass and have you thrown in jail. At Heatwave Taz you take on Bam Bam Bigelow, and if....and that's a mighty big IF you win then you get your title shot at November to Remember, but when you lose you will never get another title shot as long as I'm champion. TAZ Heatwave 98 the ball is in your court bitch. Douglas leaves with Francine. Masato Tanaka Def. John Kronus Hard hitting match here, it's almost clear that Tanaka is going to be a huge star in America. He took Kronus to the limit. Finish came when Tanaka hit the Roaring Elbow at 5:40 for the win.**Commercial** Jerry Lynn Def. Little Guido Lynn is gaining a very nice following in ECW. Guido came out with his FBI cohorts for this match, and of course they tried to get involved with no luck. Very fast paced match with Lynn causing Guido to step up his game, but it just wasn't enough as Jerry Lynn hit the Cradle Piledriver at 12:10 for the 3.Once the ring clears out the Dudley Boys come out to a massive amount of Heat. Buh-Buh- All you little fagots need to shut up out there while the Dudleys are in the ring. Stand in awe at the greatest tag team to ever lace up a pair of boots.More heat from the crowd. Buh-Buh- I guess I should expect this from a crowd who looks like a mix of a Tranny convention and MAMBLA. I mean the best looking person in this audience is the little 14 year old tramp down there with the d*** sucking lips. Now lets get done to business, last week me and my brother attacked Balls Mahoney and everyone wants to know why, and the answer is simple, we are tired of him trying to steal the Dudley Boys thunder. So this is what was want, Balls at Heatwave get yourself a partner we don't care who, Axl Rotten, Xanta Claus, whoever you want and meet us in a Dudley Street Fight.
They are cut off by the music of Balls Mahoney. Balls- You think I'm going to come out here and turn down this offer? Are you out of your mind. Hell I even have a partner already. The lights go out in the building when they return the Sandman is in the ring behind the Dudleys, he attacks with the Singapore cane as Balls runs to the ring with his chair and the Dudleys scatter. **Commercial** Mike Awesome Def. Mikey Whipwreck This match was just brutal as Awesome tore into Mikey before the bell even ring. He put a massive beating on the resident underdog. Finish came when Awesome hit the Awesome Bomb for the victory at 7:45We go backstage where Tommy Dreamer is on the phone, possibly talking to his dream partner as he says he's ready for Heatwave. Out of nowhere Justin Credible bust into the dressing room and levels Dreamer with a chair busting him open. Credible stand over his fallen prey with a smile on his face. **Commercial** Spike Dudley Def. Tracy Smothers This was the comedic relief of the night. The match consisted of a Dance Off!!! finish came when Spike hit the Acid Drop at 5:54 for the 3. ECW Tag Titles RVD and Sabu (C) Def. Lance Storm and Chris Candido It seems that all for men in this match hate each other, partner or not. Very fast paces on RVD and Sabus part as Storm and Candido tried to keep it to the mat. Finish came when Candido refused to tag in and left his partner alone in the ring, as he then received a Van Daminator from RVD and an Arabian Face Buster from Sabu for them to get the victory at 17:57ECW closes with Candido standing on the ramp looking pleased at what he did.

- Interesting time frame to do. I must say, the smiley with the censored logo kind of makes this look bad. - A typical curse word laced promo by Douglas. It was good for what it was. - Tanaka coming over Kronus is predictable. - For some reason I am not a fan of all the cursing and whatnot. ECW, to my knowledge, didn’t really do that all the time. Every other word seems to be a curse word or something rude. Dudleys/Balls/Sandman should be a bloody brawl. - Hopefully Awesome is given a decent push in this. - Fine win for Spike. Good main event with Candido turning on Storm. I hope that Storm isn’t a face as he is a far better heel.
