In my honest opinion, I feel that Mattel could lose the stand for the Entrance Greats. It would save them money and save us money as the price would drop. I just think a lot of collectors, including myself, would by the Entrance Greats more if the stand was not included because it would possibly drop the price. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated

The theme music is an improtant part to making a great entrance so I feel they are needed. I love the music and the price has no bearing on whether or not I buy one. I passed on the Rey not because of the price, but because I don't really like Rey. But I picked up two each of HHH and HBK (1 each for my Mattel display and 1 each for my computer table) and I will pick up FOUR of the Piper (1 for my Mattel setup, 1 for my computer table, 1 to play around with and 1 to keep MOC in case Roddy is ever around here signing again). I'll buy any wrestler they make that I enjoyed watching.
I'd love for them to release in the Entrabce Greats line - Bret Hart - 2001 Triple H - Austin -
Entrance Greats 2-Packs - Road Warriors - With Hawks "What a Rush" starting it off DX HBK & HHH - With "Are you Ready" starting it off

The thin plastic and music chip costs about $0.11 to produce. It is not the factor that is driving the cost of these up. The actual size of the music box may have more to do with cost...but it is not the technology.
The cost of these is high because the packaging is so large and the soft goods/elaborate gear. It causes less items to fit in the cases, therefore causing the shipment and shelving prices to raise. Shelf space is precious real estate in retail and a case of these includes what, 3 figures? So Wal-mart or TRU has to dedicate shelf space to three figures that could fit 6 or 7 normal sized packages.
Soft goods (such as HHH cape) are expensive to produce. The EGs include lots of soft goods and, at smaller production rate, raises the final production cost. The elaborate costumes and accessories (such as the music box or Reys WM22 gear) also cause the packaging to be larger.

I like the music. Like DKR said the price is high because they have to cover the cost of clothing items and molds that can only be used once.

Don't get rid of the music stand, it's part of the entrance. They wouldn't be "Entrance Greats" without the music.

While we are on the subject of Entrance Greats, I think an EG Melina would be amazing. The red carpet and a couple of her ridiculous feather fan things would be adequate soft goods for me.
