What's up guys. Is there any way to clean hasbro's without removing the original paint? I have a bunch I would love to clean but have no idea how to.

I asked the same question a while back, and someone suggested the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It works better than anything else I've ever tried to use.
Somehow, it seems to know what is the original paint and what are just scuffs! I've noticed that on some figures, you might see a tinge of color on the pad that looks like the paint is coming off, but I can't find any noticeable evidence of paint loss on the figures.

Cool stuff. Where exactly would count as non painted areas? The skin section of the figure?

I agree, the Magic Eraser is fantastic for cleaning figures. It also does a great job of removing paint scuffs from LJN's. I've also used my wife's "oil absorbing facial sheets". These things take paint scuffs off with minimal effort. They also take off built up oil from handling the figures. After wiping down the figures with the sheets, they are almost as good as right from the package. You can buy a package of about 25 of them at Dollar General and Family Dollar stores for $2.

Ive only ever used washing up liquid and a toothbrush to clean my figures, especially ljns, which come up really well.
I guess you could really damage figures with nail polish remover so i wouldnt bother wuith that.

Okay I tell everyone this: Use the Magic Eraser (Mr. Clean Brand). Its the cats MEOW! The bee's knee's! Works to the nines for scuffs and dirt even some maker and pen marks.Follow the instructions on the back and you should be able to get 8-12 figures spotless with one sponge!

Be careful with the sponge though it will remove paint you don't want removed though . I also have used Bestine which is a thinner or oddly enough a rubber cement thinner and isn't as harsh as acetone. You can also use alcohol and a Q tip . I do mine right out of the dish washer( thats right , dish washer) and they paint rolls right off.

I used to use a whie dishcloth and 'cream cleaner' - brought the scuffs from play off a treat and didn't do anything to original paint.

I use to clean them just with water, and there's never been any colour coming off.

If dust, just dunk them in water
