Anyone want to guess what the most expensive Hasbro figure was in June 1995? I pulled out all my old Fangoria, Starlog, Sci-Fi Channel, etc... magazines and their are 2 different ads for Hasbro figures.
So which Hasbro was selling for the most in June 1995 and which tag team was selling for the most? This doesn't count the mail away figures that are in the ad.
I just checked the same magazine from August 1996 and they were selling Andre the Giant on a Spanish card for $95 each.
Post your guesses. Bob

It wasn't Dusty and it wasn't LOD in 1995. In 1996 LOD was the most expensive tag team.
The most expensive single figure in 1995 was on a blue card and is a WWE Hall of Famer.

I'm going to guess Koko B. Ware. I remember that one being ridiculously high in price guides back in the mid/late '90s. I think it was usually listed at about $80-120 at least. For some unknown reason, those old price guides always had Andre or Koko highest, then Dusty.
For tag teams, I will say the Nasty Boys.

We have a winner. It was Koko B. Ware for the single figure but not the Nasty Boys for the tag team.

Isn't it great that eBay has totally changed all price guides from pre 96 and beyond. I remember paying £8.00 for rick rude loose in 95 and £20.00 for andre from a friend to complete my loose collection in 96. Moc figures were way out of my league. When I got the 'net I got the whole moc green card series for $20.00 a piece online from a company called 'plastic dreams' in about 2002. Ahh, good times.

It's funny that you mentioned Rude, because he was the absolute hardest for me to find when they were new.
Those old price guide listings seem to better reflect how common they were at the time.

the green carded figures were 1993 and into 1994, they still sold for 30-40 a piece at shows back then. They've gone up a bit since then, but they experienced a high about 4-5 years ago. That 123 kid used to sell for $100+ 5 years ago. Can't believe koko was so expensive! Did they pull that figure after he was fired in 1991 and rehired in 1992?? Maybe that period of layoff time caused them to pull his figure for a while, then re-release it?

Koko wasn't too hard to find back than compared to the Green Cards and Yellow Card Crush. Now I can't find any figure from the series with Koko in it on an American Card. Why have the foreign cards become so common?

kb toys bought all of hasbros overstock back in late 94 and 95. When they had that 3/10 sale, most of them were foreign carded figures from the early series. They even had yellow carded figures 3/10. I see a lot of Razor ramon and shawn michaels with kb toys 3/10 price stickers on them.

I got most of my Hasbros from KB Toys in '94-'95 after the line had died. I remember getting Koko, Valentine, and someone else in a $3/10 deal, and also red card Yoko, Luger, and Perfect #2 the same way. Never saw the green cards, though.
