I know the Jake the Snake Roberts LJN thumb wrestler is considerred rare, but on Ebay there is a King Kong Bundy thumb wrestler too. The seller claims it is more rare then then Jake one.
Anyone know any details about this?

legend says that supposed the Roberts and Bundy were distributed at the end of the LJN run and were only available in Canada. They come up rarely. Here is a photo of mine:

(My) Jake and Bundy have a copyright stamp that is two years later than the other 10 in the set, so it's fair to assume that they were released two years later than the initial run. Judging by the fact that they do not pop up often, it's also fair to assume that they were released in much smaller numbers.
Jake is the hardest to find. Mind you, Bundy is very rare, but Jake even more so.
Personally I have never ever seen a Jake Thumbie MOC and I do not know anyone that has.
I did see (and bought) a Bundy vs Orndorff set, but that's the only time I have ever seen a Bundy MOC.

Thanks for the info.
Pretty awesome then that I got a Bundy Thumb Wrestler along with every other one thunb excluding Jake and a set a of USA Galoobs a few years back as I bought a group of Hasbro's (about 20 for $25US) and the guy included all those extra figures when he shipped it!

Jake the snake has yet to be seen MOC and The only Bundy to appear MOC is the one Stom purchased (I'm still pissed I didn't come across that Bundy first).... 1 day we will see a Jake Roberts MOC (I've been saying this literally for 12 years now)

I had never looked at the dates before. My Roberts and Bundy are dated 1987 while the rest are 1985. I assume yours are the same. Bundy left WWF in early 1988 whch would explain why his may have not have been as popular and, who knows, may have been pulled from distribution. I cannot say that about Roberts. He was there until 1992. Why they produced 2 figures years after the originals is a mystery.

I don't know which is more disturbing, Star Toys Jake Roberts or LJN Thumb Wrestler Jake Roberts.

Well I guess I can try to help out with this since I did own it, and I am Canadian.
I do remember, it was around 1988, I was at a local toy department store and on the end of the aisle I saw the Thumb wrestlers. The new line consisted of Paul Orndorff vs. King Kong Bundy, Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage, and Ricky Steamboat vs. Jake "The Snake" Roberts. I got my parents to buy me them right then and there since I never seen them before that, or even after that. I think they may be kind of rare, because I think they came out right when the LJN lines were stopped. I do know after that I would still see the original ones like Sheik vs. JYD, Hogan vs. Volkoff, and such on the shelves but never that line that I got that day.

No, I never did, and of course I sold them all years ago because I thought I was "all mature" at the age of 18 and didn't want LJN wrestling figures anymore. Steamboat was in his black gimmicks though, just like the big LJN figures, and instead of fists, his hands were in chopping form. He didn't have curly hair either, he had straight hair. If only I was clever enough at age 8 to ask for 2 pairs of each figure, to keep one MOC for times like this.

Deshawnj, those are the 12 figures, but they also came singularly and there were packaging differences.

I only know of the 2-packs with one of the six faces against one of the six heels, with Hogan and Piper being the most common face and heel respectively. Btw I hardly ever see the variant Piper mentioned. Piper came with and without molded t-shirt sleeves.

Here is a photo of mine:"That Makes Sence according to these photo's on the "Figure Data Base". See below the BUDDY figure has english and french on the card. Buddy and Jake were "Canadian Thumb Wrestler Exclusives"

My error on these being singular, I was thinking of the mini versions of the regular LJN's that came that way. These did come in the two packs.

Buddy and Jake were "Canadian Thumb Wrestler Exclusives"I'm still confused hopefully someone can please explain this.. If the Jake/Bundy thumb figures were exclusive to Canada then why were they available to order from US magazines? I ordered the jake thumb wrestler from a magazine when I was a kid (I included a note asking them to include bundy with jake, i was just a kid so don't make fun of me for including a note about bundy) anyways, I received a phone call from LJN (actually from whoever ran the order area, remember I was just a kid) and they said that the Jake thumb wrestler was not available so I asked for Bundy and they said the same thing (no I didn't ask why, I just figured they were sold out which was common when ordering from the magazines) so they offered me a refund or the option to include a LJN regular size figure (I ordered Harley Race and a few others on the same order) so I asked for the white shirt Hogan and it was unavailable also so I ended up getting Hacksaw Jim Duggan.... so why would they have them in US mags if they were not available in the US?

Too Try to answer your question... "I'm really not sure"
But, I do know this about LJN
They did show alot of prototypes that never made thier way to shelves that were profiled in thier magazines
for example (full size LJN figs) 1) adrian adonas - with scarf 2) hillbilly jim - with black shirt 3) Rickey syeamboat - with black and red tights

If what you say is correct, there are two versions of Steamboat; I've only seen him with closed fists...

If what you say is correct, there are two versions of Steamboat; I've only seen him with closed fists... Personally I only know of the chop hands version, but there isn't much difference between Steamboat's chophand and the fists of all the others. There is just a little more space between the thumb and the fingers. I think you're mistaken on the Steamboat with fists.

On closer inspection, you're right; it really looks like a (more open) fist but is a chop-hand.
