I finally received my yellow Hasbro ring in the mail! It's in pretty rough shape, but thankfully, there's no physical damage and it's complete. However, I have some questions for you figure gurus and "toycoons" out there. The biggest job that needs done on it is removing scuffs. Have any of you all ever cleaned scuffs off of a ring? What is the safest and most effective way to do it? I've heard tale of using Mr. Clean magic erasers, but I'd like to know how well that works. I've removed paint for custom figures with acetone before, but sometimes that can do more harm than good. The stickers are all there, but very badly scuffed, so I'm thinking of removing them, scanning them, and creating some vinyl replacement stickers. The ring posts are all leaning inward. What causes this? Is there a method of fixing it you all have found to work? One last question: what sticker is supposed to go on the monitor? My old blue ring has a Hogan sticker, but the sticker on the yellow ring is solid white. It looks like it's trimmed to a perfect fit, but that can't be right, can it?

I found that some nail varnish remover is great for getting rid of Hasbro scuffs.

Here's mine Never really thought about it before but a white screen is a bit odd - would be cool to knock something up to take it's place

Nail varnish or a paint thinner is a good idea..never tried that. We frequnetly use a simple clean brillo pad with some water, which removes scuffs if done gently very easily. Never tried it on a ring, though, but it may seem the ropes are tied too tight which would explain why your posts are bending inward. If i can recall, when me and my brother bought the yellow ring back in the day brand new from toys R us, it never came w/ a monitor sticker. We actually supplemented the blank screen by cutting out a sticker from a wwf sticker sheet (bought at a dollar store way back when) of macho man and put him on there. (sticker sheet consisted of macho man, hogan, warrior, perfect..cant recall the rest) Hope this bit of information helped, good luck w/ ur ring brother.

For removing scuffs from figures I used to use "cream cleaner" on a normal dishcloth. The texture of the cloth and the cleaner gently removes the area you are rubbing without affecting the paintwork.

NO HARSH CHEMICALS NEEDED! Use the Magic Eraser by Mr Clean! These things clean scuffs from Hasbros and Ljns as well. I 100% use magic erasers for all my figure cleaning needs and it surpasses any chemical cleaner on the market I have tried alot. Its like $3 for a box and well worth the money.I should do before and afters on the Huge LJN lot i won....I will do that actually.

I agree with the Magic Eraser! It works well for all figures, seems to 'know' what's a scuff mark and what's supposed to be on the figure, leaving it alone. Great, great tool to have!

As I said earlier this week (See Johnny B Badd post), the Magic Eraser works well with figures. I had never tried it on a ring, though.
