Love that AJ and Paris won they don't usually get pushed in other WCW's around this time, would have prefered Cowbar to win as he is more dimensional than Vito although any match involving Funk gets tow thumbs up from me, nice hyping up the PPV all the time, glad Sean won i don't want a massive push for him just a little, Liking the stable feud between Canada and Animals as long as Storm gets pushed I'm happy, Rey/Skipper was good, nice main event glad the insiders won, good luck and keep this up.

WCW Thunder: Wednesday 10th January 2001...Alright, in my opinion that was a pretty weak way to open up the program with Air Raid taking on the Jung Dragons, as Evan Karagias and Jamie Knoble were great talent back here, as were Air Paris and Air Styles. See you plan on pushing Air Raid, just don't do it quickly and if you do, please focus on Air Paris as much as Air Styles, because I loved seeing Paris compete as much as Air Styles. Hopefully we can see Karagias and Knoble pick up a win here or there in this diary, I liked them, and they should definitely end up as innovative if you bring in the WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championships. Those belts would suit them well. Big Vito and Crowbar would have been a slightly sloppy match in my eyes, but big win for Vito, as he's going to need all the momentum he can get to look credible against WCW World Hardcore Champion, Terry Funk. Hopefully when Funk loses the title too, he could maybe get involved with the main storyline in World Championship Wrestling, too. I like Kronik demanding a shot at Kevin Nash and Diamond Dallas Page for the WCW World Tag Team Championships, but I thought they were faces here. It is also a slight bit late, they could have had a lot more hype, and good hype at that for the match at Sin. But hopefully the two will have a rematch at Superbrawl Revenge. Sean O'Haire beating Norman Smiley is okay, Smiley isn't really relevent anymore, fine for the Natural Born Thrillers member to pick up the win. Yes, Three Count involvement, as Chavo Guerrero Jr defeated Shane Helms' partner, Shannon Moore in non-title action. Sets up perfectly for Chavo's bout with Shane Helms for the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship at Sin. Rey Misterio Jr beating Elix Skipper is fine, as this elevates us to the Filthy Animals against Team Canada at Sin. Those two would have a tremendous match, I'm sure. The InSiders and Kronik had a great main event, actually noticed you keeping them even, as Perfect Event and the Natural Born Thrillers attacked both teams. Good main event, but hoping Kronik turn heel and feud The InSiders again into Superbrawl Revenge. A decent final show before Sin.
WWF SmackDown!: Thursday 11th January 2001...Alright, it looks to be a great card for this edition of SmackDown!, with just two weeks to spare before Royal Rumble. Was not too fond of the opening contest though, to be honest, as I feel it was slightly weak. I also despised Tiger Ali Singh, so hopefully Chaz could become a credible singles competitor, as the Headbangers sucked, as did LoDown. The Dudley Boyz needed the win I suppose. Again with the promo, and I know I'm annoying when it comes to this; it should always open or close a show. The Rock's promo was good, though. Essa Rios against Dean Malenko would have been solid...if only it was on Sunday Night Heat. It would have been more likely, despite this being for the WWF Light-Heavyweight Championship. But I do see what you're trying to do in regaining significence in the title, but Essa winning was random, and Dean Malenko sort of needed the belt to remain relevent. I hope Malenko has some plans going for him. Wonder if you'll bring in Jerry Lynn eventually. But yes, if anybody should have won the belt here, it should have been Crash Holly, because that guy was over as hell here. Liked Chris Benoit roughing up Jonathan Coachman, as it is good for his character. Edge beating Jeff Hardy is fine, great bout there, and this could set up to the match at the Royal Rumble. Should be a good match with the Hardy Boyz & Edge and Christian for the WWF Tag Team Championships. If I'm honest, I'm sort of disappointed that The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin fought in the first hour main event against fellow face team, The APA. Just sort of didn't add up to me, and I know Austin and Rock's relationship is being tested, but Bradshaw and Faarooq were seemingly embarrassed here. Chris Benoit beating Hardcore Holly is a fine defense of the WWF Intercontinental Championship; still not too interested by Billy Gunn and Benoit's angle. Where is Chyna in all of this? Hmm. Tazz revealing the singlet is nice. Hope he takes out the Right To Censor slowly; like one by one. That'd be great. Matt Hardy beating Christian is fine, evens things up for the Hardy Boyz against the WWF Tag Team Champions. Liked the main event match, sets up for the WWF Championship match at the Royal Rumble between Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho as well as Undertaker and Rikishi in the Royal Rumble. A packed edition overall; it'd batter WCW Thunder in the ratings, but I preferred Thunder this week in actual fact.
ECW Hardcore TV: Saturday 13th January 2001...Nice reminder by Joey Styles and Cyrus the Virus to recap us of Guilty As Charged the previous weekend. Should be a good card tonight, I expect of you to increase ECW Hardcore TV's television show length in the near future, though. Kid Kash and Tony Mamaluke had a good opening contest. Kid Kash would be perfect for WWF's Light-Heavyweight Championship division, with his confident gimmick. Kash beating Mamaluke is fine by me; I liked Mamaluke but never saw a whole lot in him. Tommy Dreamer's promo was good, hopefully he gets close to the ECW World Heavyweight Championship at Cyberslam, but I can't see him beating Steve Corino. Spike Dudley beating Spanish Angle gets his underdog gimmick over well, no problem here whatsoever. Rhino and Sabu feuding should be pretty good, but isn't he supposed to be defending the ECW World Television Championship against Blue Boy tonight? Hmm, that match seemingly evaporated. Jerry Lynn attacking Nova is strange, a strange way to get through to Rob Van Dam. Lastly, solid win for Rob Van Dam and Super Crazy over Yoshihiro Tajiri and Mikey Whipwreck. Overall a good show.
This week thus far has been a lot better than last week.

- Kid Romeo has been replaced =0 - Chavo Guerrero Jr retaining the Cruiserweight Championship is fine, fan of him and Shane Helms, solid opener. - Excited to find out who has replaced Romeo - Awesome going over Meng is great, Running Awesome Bomb/Splash is a nice finish, push Awesome to the title please. - Can't recall who General Reaction is, I wanna say Hugh Moris but I may be wrong. - Fun Hardcore Championship match, Always prefered Johnny Stamboli to Big Vito but loved the Mamalukes, nice title win for Vito. - Wow, Test. There's a nice surprise. Happy with the winning team seeing as it wouldn't of made sense for Test to lose already. Test/Storm for tag champs please. - Can't recall who Perfect Event are either. - Shane Douglas winning the US title is awesome, I always liked him in ECW/WCW - Like that you're going with Bischoff buying WCW - Jarrett beating Cat makes sense, Cat looking strong after the bell is also nice. - Oh, Stasiak and Palumbo. Unsure on them winning the titles, but a win over Nash and Page gets them over. - KANYON CUTTER! KANYON CUTTER! - Goldberg winning seems very wcw'ish but it's still the right decision. The man was a monster and really could beat Luger and Bagwell. - Steiner retaining the World Championship is good, can't say it'd be a fantastic match but at least the Streatcher Match gives it a gimmick. Here's hoping Mike Awesome gets thrown in to the title picture.
Good show Bob, and a great diary.

This is a good read, man. I'm glad that you're using the young guys the way they were used in the real WCW at this point. I'm curious as to how you're going to use Kanyon now that he's back. It seems as they had another push in store for him after seeing the Greed PPV.

Wrestling Observer January 8th - 14th, 2001 -- Reported by Dave Meltzer
ECW -- CW Anderson is going to be off television for a few months to sell the eye injury angle he suffered at ECW Guilty As Charged. Anderson is in line for a very big push as ECW have appointed him a top heel for the company.
-- Rhino will be hyping up his match with Sabu at ECW Living Dangerously by himself. Sabu has only been signed to compete at pay per views or large events at the ECW Arena. Sabu is not obligated to appear on Hardcore TV.
-- Rob Van Dam and Tajiri will be involved in a program after what happened on Hardcore TV. Looks like Tajiri is in line to receive a push.
-- ECW has issued a statement for fans to e-mail them on who they would want to come into ECW for a tryout and possibly join the roster. This is an attempt to get the fans to be more interactive with the company. (readers of this diary please PM the guys you would like to see in ECW at this time)
-- Their had been rumors that Scott Hall was going to come into ECW, however that is not the case. Hall had worked two house shows late last year, but there aren’t any plans for him to be involved with ECW.
WCW -- The debut of Andrew Martin at WCW Sin was a surprise to many within WCW. Considering that Martin had just competed on RAW, no one had heard that Martin asked for his release and it was granted. Word is that Martin is scheduled to be given a good push as WCW officials are impressed with his size and ability.
-- Chris Kanyon had been sitting at home collecting paychecks as WCW writers didn’t have anything for him. WCW officials are very high on Chris Kanyon and he will be starting a feud with Diamond Dallas Page, something that had began back in July 2000 when Page took a leave of absence.
-- Ron and Don Harris have been released from their contracts.
-- Sid is reportedly losing favor with the creative team. WCW is looking to push younger talent and considering Sid’s age and lack of skill in the ring, it is being rumored that his role in WCW could diminish greatly.
-- Eric Bischoff owning WCW is the real deal. Bischoff will be taking WCW off of TNT and TBS and shopping those programs to other networks, according to reports.
WWF -- Many have been wondering why Chyna has not been seen on television. According to sources, Chyna is refusing to negotiate a contract as she believes she is a top draw for the WWF. Thus, the WWF have kept her off television and have not mentioned her. This would explain why Billy Gunn has distanced himself from the RTC and why Tazz has been inserted to the angle. It is being rumored that Chyna could be release from her contract.
-- Albert is scheduled to be given a good heel push. WWF officials have decided to add a fresh face to the main event scene and it appears they are high on Albert. As clearly seen, Chris Jericho is also being elevated to the main event scene to get some fresh feuds for the WWF.
-- Test was released from his contract because Test asked for his release. Andrew Martin, who played the character Test, hadn’t been happy with the way he had been used since the wedding angle back in December of 1999 and his attitude about T & A being split up was not professional. He didn’t have a ninety day clause in his contract which allowed him to arrive on WCW television this past weekend.
-- It has been confirmed that four spots in the Royal Rumble will have surprise returns or debuts.
-- Dean Malenko has announced his retirement affective February 1st, 2001. This would explain why Malenko lost the WWF Lightweight Championship to Essa Rios on Smackdown.

After the match, Sanders gets the other belt and enters the ring to celebrate with his team, However, he is unable to leave quickly enough with his stable mates and suffers the High Times from Kronik!
Outside the building, we see Chris Kanyon arriving to the building with a rather big smile on his face. Kanyon walks past a few security guys and we see Diamond Dallas Page walking behind Chris Kanyon. Page charges towards Kanyon and sends Kanyon into the wall and a garage door. Page slams Kanyon into several cars in a parking lot and continues to attack Kanyon. Kanyon manages to low blow Page and connect with a ace crusher on the concrete floor! Kanyon hopes into a car and drives away as Page is left laying outside!

Sixth Contest: Goldberg defeated Alex Wright: Alex Wright did not stand a chance on the always intense Goldberg. Goldberg connected with a standing side kick and a military press slam into a power slam. Goldberg proceeded to deliver the spear and jackhammer and picked up a rather quick win to make it 38-0. After the match, Mike Awesome slides into the ring with a chair and hits Goldberg over the back and then over the head to drop Goldberg. Awesome breaks the chair over the head of Goldberg. Awesome is heard saying “I am the man who will end your career Goldberg.” Awesome bails to the floor as Goldberg staggers to his feet and makes his way up the ramp. Awesome sees this and actually goes back to brawl with Goldberg some more until security runs down to break up the brawl.
Backstage, Mean Gene is standing with WCW World Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner. Steiner tells Gene that he doesn’t care who Ric Flair has gotten to face him tonight because he is going show why they call him the Big Bad Booty Daddy. Steiner is going to enjoy taking out a good friend of Ric Flair’s hear tonight. Steiner also mentions the main event at WCW Superbrawl and tells Gene that he would rather kick three asses as compared to just one. Steiner kisses his muscles before walking to the ring.

Main Event: Scott Steiner defeated Dusty Rhodes to retain the WCW World Heavyweight Championship: It turned out to be Dusty Rhodes! Steiner and Rhodes trade right hands and biotic elbow smashes. Steiner over powers Rhodes with several right hands and a clothesline. Steiner proceeded to take Rhodes down with a exploder suplex and mocked Rhodes by doing some push ups and dropping a elbow to the chest of Rhodes. Steiner takes Rhodes down with a side belly to belly suplex for a near fall. Rhodes low blows Steiner and DDT’s Steiner! Rhodes comes off the ropes and drops an elbow but only gets a one count. Steiner blocked a clothesline and takes Rhodes down with a pump handle side slam. Steiner gets on top of Rhodes and locks in the Steiner Recliner! Rhodes passes out and the referee calls for the bell. After the match, Scott Steiner keeps the hold on Dusty for several moments. Then all of a sudden, Dustin Rhodes runs down to the ring and kicks Steiner off his father. Dustin drives Steiner down with a running bulldog and clotheslines the champion over the top to the floor. Steiner goes nuts on the floor hitting security trying to get back in the ring but is held back. Dustin checks on his father as Nitro goes off the air.

It's gonna be interesting to see how ECW gets booked now that you're past what was the last PPV. LOL "clobbering" If it's who I think it is, it's "clubberin'"

Solid way to kick Nitro off with Chavo Guerrero, Jr. taking on Yang. Yang never was going to beat Chavo here, but it would have been a solid encounter. The tournament should be pretty fun. I'm actually planning one for my WCW. Not a bad win for Rection. Only thing is Rick Steiner wasn't in WCW around this point. He didn't debut until later on when he joined The M7. Rey and Kidman getting a title shot could be interesting. Kevin Nash going over Buff Bagwell made sense. The Schiavone/Bischoff segment seemed throwaway. It wasn't made out to be a big deal. You could have hyped it as the new owners being on Nitro next week, but leaving their identity secret. Instead you were like "Eric Bischoff is buying WCW. Yeah, he's here next week". Goldberg/Awesome sounds good. Hopefully you have Goldberg lose and not have another ridiculous win streak. Dustin/Steiner is a pretty good main event. Only thing I didn't like was that it seems that aftermath might lead to an eventual Steiner/Dustin World Title match. Hope that doesn't happen.

WCW Sin: Sunday 14th January 2001...Was strange that you decided to go with Chavo Guerrero Jr beating Shane Helms to retain the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship in what would have been a hot opening contest to kick off a pay-per-view. I see you are going to give Chavo a nice heel cocky reign as champ. Shane Helms hopefully will end up getting the belt in the future, though. That guy was in actual fact on fire at this time, in my opinion. Mike Awesome and Meng would have had a stiff match, liked it, and the win for Awesome makes him huge, beating the monster, Meng. Hopefully it stretches further out, too. Big Vito beating Terry Funk is okay I suppose. The WCW World Hardcore Championship means literally nothing to me, really. I hope if you end up getting rid of Funk from WCW, he has a match with a main eventer of some sort. Good win for Team Canada over the Filthy Animals, as it makes Team Canada seem very strong, but the fact that Team Canada only lost Elix Skipper really makes me dislike what you're doing with the Filthy Animals. Konnan, Rey Misterio Jr and Billy Kidman all deserve better in my opinion. Shane Douglas beating General Rection is okay I suppose. Hugh Morrus had his time in the sun, just please don't demoralize him from this point forward. Hope that Shane Douglas has an eventful WCW US Heavyweight Championship reign. Jeff Jarrett beating The Cat is very okay. I hate The Cat, so good that Jarrett would this. Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo winning the WCW World Tag Team Championships? Wasn't expecting that, I like it. Loved the interference from the Natural Born Thrillers, too. Makes Kevin Nash and Diamond Dallas Page still look relatively strong. Hopefully after tonight though, the InSiders go their seperate ways and go after Scott Steiner's WCW World Heavyweight Championship...well Nash maybe. DDP has beef with Kanyon now eh? Good. Make Kanyon look credible. Goldberg beating Lex Luger and Buff Bagwell is fine, liking Goldberg's dominance in this particular handicap match. Scott Steiner beating Sid is fine, a good stretcher match and a good WCW World Heavyweight Championship defense here. Sid hopefully is written off though, the feud should end here. A good pay-per-view overall. Probably the best show thus far this month. I'll reply to RAW and Nitro later.

Raw -Rock vs. Austin should be good, I'm thinking Rock will win, knowing Stone Cold, I see him being #1 -Good tag match to open up, no contest as good both teams look good, and you even made the SG look good with the attack -Nice Raven/Saturn promo -Good to see Jericho win, I despised RTC so good to see them lose -Taker vs. Regal? Should be good -RTC lost again, yea! -Tazz! Tazz! Tazz! -The old Tazz huh? I hope you mean putting guys threw stages Tazz -Taker winning is fine, as he is bigger than Regal, but because Regal is champ give him a win on Smackdown!. -Rikishi coming out is fine -HHH promo was good -This promo just shows how great Angle was, you wrote his character well. I hope you make Angle/Y2J a lengthy feud. -Good to see Benoit retain so him vs. Gunn will still happen -Good brawl between the two, hypes the match up a bit more -Good RTC promo, I honestly hope Tazz kills them, And hope who doesn't become one of them. But, that would be a twist, Plus, Tazz doesn't look good in white. -Albert winning is fine, if you are pushing him. -Kane winning would be cool, he should have won the 2001 Rumble -Rock winning is fine, as I see Stone Cold lasting longer than Rock coming out #1 -Good Aftermath, Stone Cold vs. Kane coming up soon? -Greats how, Rumble seems to be like a great event to come, I hope Kane wins the match.

WCW Monday Nitro: Monday 15th January 2001...Good way to open up the show with the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship on the line, Chavo Guerrero Jr beating Yang in what would have been an awesome match. Much better than the string of Chavo Guerrero/Jimmy Wang Yang matches we'd see later on in the decade. Chavo gaining respect as a fighting champion is good to see. Following this, a good promo by the CEO of World Championship Wrestling, Ric Flair mentioning Eric Bischoff? A new ownership..I see you're making the changes that were planning to be made in reality with Fuscient Media. Ah, a tournament to determine a contender to the WCW World Heavyweight Championship sounds great; maybe we could see an upandcomer move up to face Scott Steiner, but then again this is Superbrawl Revenge...so maybe not. It's a shame to see Rick Steiner's drop from the main event to second match on the card in two weeks. General Rection and Rick are both faces; who is the heel here? Shane Douglas and General Rection's feud for the WCW US Heavyweight Championship continuing is good, should be intriguing to see. I hope you keep Rection relevent, even if he returns to being Hugh Morrus or turns heel; a heel turn would actually benefit him more. Rey Misterio Jr and Billy Kidman gaining contention to the WCW World Tag Team Championships shows us that you're planning not to have a WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship. Bam Bam Bigelow and Chris Candido...isn't this the return of Candido? I like it, but if it was their return as a team, they should have won. I'd just like to know what the InSiders become now. Hopefully they just don't drop dead and disband for no reason. Looks that way though, shame that Buff Bagwell didn't get too far in the Superbrawl Revenge tournament, but Kevin Nash needed a rebound. Solid first hour main event to say the least. Mike Sanders and Diamond Dallas Page...if they were to feud, Sanders would be solid. He's already extremely charismatic. Ah wow, Time Warner selling WCW to Fusient. I love it. Eric Bischoff reappearing is nice. Think he should have came out during Ric Flair's promo though, to be honest, as Flair is CEO. Two members of Perfect Event beating Kronik is good, it gets over the new WCW World Tag Team Champions good in their first match since winning the belts. Wasn't so good that Kronik laid them out though; especially since Rey Misterio Jr and Billy Kidman are now in contention to the belts. Hehe, poor Alex Wright, being manhandled by Goldberg. I didn't like Alex Wright, personally. Wow, good win for Scott Steiner over a legend like Dusty Rhodes, but it wouldn't be a strong main event without hype, and wouldn't be a good match really unless it was a hardcore match. Dustin Rhodes having a match with Steiner for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship would be great next week. Good show overall, best Nitro thus far of 2001. Would like to know where Team Canada were though.
WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 15th January 2001...Good promo to get things kicked off with Vince McMahon in the ring, liking his promotion of the Royal Rumble this Sunday, should be good, but to be honest, apart from the main event announcement, this promo wasn't important. Think somebody should have come out to confront Vince, personally. Also, The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin tonight? Hmm, hopefully we see a false finish. If they fought an allout match tonight, and met again at WrestleMania X-Seven, it'd seem a little offputtiing, I think. Great match between Edge and Christian and the Dudley Boyz. They had a good bout at Royal Rumble, too. I'm just not a fan of Ekmo and Kimo debuting already and getting into the WWF in this time range. Just seems unlikely to me, and hopefully they don't last too long or are significent. It's just hard to picture them being as good as we imagine in early 2001. Raven and Perry Saturn promo was strange, but I suppose you're banding a team with them. Good, sets Saturn up with somebody else now that Dean Malenko has announced his retirement. Chris Jericho beating Val is okay, good win for Y2J over the Right To Censor member. Nothing significent going on here. The Hardy Boyz beating the two other Right To Censor members is fine, but slightly damages RTC with two losses in one night, plus a beating from Tazz. Wondering where the Hardy Boyz fit with Tazz in this feud with the 'old Tazz' and Right To Censor. Great first hour main event between The Undertaker and William Regal. I can easily imagine Regal cowering from 'Taker a lot here. I just wonder if Regal would/should have tried to use his power as WWF Commissioner to get out of the match against 'Taker. Kurt Angle's promo was nice, and Chris Jericho coming out is okay, but makes the purpose of Y2J facing Val earlier useless. If anything, this promo should have gone over Jericho's match from before. I hope Kurt Angle retains the WWF Championship at the Royal Rumble, though if Jericho won it wouldn't be so much of a problem; he's ready, just how would he fit into the situation. Chris Benoit beating Bradshaw; a much more worthy match for the Royal Rumble for the WWF Intercontinental Championship than Benoit against Billy Gunn. And that's sad to say since Bradshaw is apart of the APA. Didn't see the point of the title being at stake here, though really. Sure, Bradshaw looks threatening to a title, but with six days from a title match and the title being on the line on that particular show; the champion is gonna win. I personally think the match between Albert and Hardcore Holly wasn't necessary; didn't appeal at all and was basically what we'd see on Jakked/Metal. Lastly, would have obviously been a fantastic match between The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin but it was on RAW, and if it happens at WrestleMania X-Seven, it'll be damaged by this. The disqualification finish makes it slightly less harmful, Triple H jumping in is nice. I hope we see Rock vs Austin vs HHH at 'Mania. Good show this week.

-Rock/Austin is a HUGE main event -Tag match going to a no contest is solid, like the debut of the Samoan Thugs -Saturn & Raven would make a decent team -Jericho over Venis was the right call -Hardys winning was fine, the tag division was strong in 2001 -Old school Tazz should be awesome -Undertaker over Regal is good, and a 'Taker/Rikishi feud should be decent -The Jericho/Angle segment was well done -Benoit retaining the Title is solid and I expect his match with Billy Gunn to be very good -Albert/Holly didn't really serve a purpose -Rock/Austin ending in a DQ was good and I smell Rock/Austin/HHH at 'Mania which I wanna see
Solid Raw, looking forward to the Rumble

LOL @ Vince being called an a**hole Cool that you're debuting the Island Boys Oh crap! a new Flock in WWF? That seemed like a good match b/w Jericho & Venis So if it's the "old Tazz" is it just "Taz" again? Good promo from Kane, I'd like to see him finally win the Rumble I'm guessing the Main Event eads to an Austin/HHH match. So no Two-Man Power Trip and allow me to re-interate Dan's earlier statement :make Kanyon look good. WCW seemed to be doing great things with him at this point.
