Nitro:- Storm over Konnan is good. Please push Storm in some way. - Steiner brothers battle should be interesting. See Scott winning tbh. - Like Funk as Hardcore champion, he's a good choice. - Helms and Chavo over the Cruiserweight title should be a fun one. - Hope Goldberg is an unstoppable monster, hope he wins. See Jarrett and Bagwell winning though. - Triple Threat beating M.I.A is good. Like the Triple Threat stable, hope Douglas backs up his words and goes after Rection. - Nash and DDP seem weaker than NBT. Shouldn't be that way as they are two main event talents IMO. - Awesome push is well.. Awesome ;D - Tag Match went as expected. - Steiner win was expected, aftermath builds rivalry well. Raw: - Hardys over Dudleys is good, but either team winning would have been fine. - Typical Rock segment there. Like how it turned out. - Raven shoving himself into a closet? - Taz push is good. Take the ball and run. - Austin/HHH feud will be great if booked right. - Rikishi and Taker could be a good feud, the chokeslam is a good launch pad for it. - Trish telling fibs x) Test is intense, so I expect a DQ finish. - Angry Kane is great. - Benoit retaining the strap is good. - Hope HHH doesn't get put in the title picture. - Rock winning by DQ would have been better, but this prevents any potential feuds from occuring. - Expected Angle to retain the title. The HHH/Austin thing builds there feud, and I hope Jericho gets a shot at the Rumble. Thunder:- Wright and Inferno feud will be good if you go with that. - Stasiak's ass is gonna be kicked. - Awesome winning is good. Slow build toward the title would be welcomed. - Douglas over Cajun is good, builds the feud with Rection. - Recap wasn't really needed, but the back stuff will surely be a part of the feud. - The promo helps the feud also. - As with Douglas over Cajun, this helps build the feud. - I see a squash coming.. - But I didn't see it coming that soon. - Love The Cat promo. Will be a fun match. - Goldberg winning is great, helps builds him as the beast he is.

World Wrestling Federation presents Smackdown Date: 1/4/2001 From: San Antonio, Texas Announcers: Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler
Smackdown opening video
Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler welcome everyone to Smackdown! Cole hypes up a huge main event which will see the Rock and Steve Austin taking on WWF World Champion Kurt Angle and Triple H. Lawler doesn’t like the fact that Angle has to be in a match where is own tag team partner hates him! Cole believes the match will surely be a great one. Cole continues to promote several matches which include Edge and Christian taking on Too Cool in a non-title match. Rikishi, Val Venis and Billy Gunn battle it out to determine the number one contender to the WWF Intercontinental Championship. Ivory will also defend the WWF Womens Championship against Molly Holly. Cole gets cut off by WWF World Champion Kurt Angle’s music.
Kurt Angle has a scowl on his face as the fans chant “You Suck”. Angle doesn’t know what Vince McMahon is thinking when he forces him to compete in a tag team match with three guys who are out to get his WWF World Championship. Angle thinks it is unfair and that he should be given special privileges because he is the champion. Angle goes over the guys involved in the contest, first mentioning the Rock. Angle defeated him at No Mercy in October to win the championship, and knows that the Rock is seeking to get his hands on him. Angle mentions Rock’s partner Steve Austin who has been on a mission to get both his belt back and take out Angle’s partner Triple H. Angle is afraid for his life, and thinks that Vince McMahon should cancel the match. Vince McMahon makes his way out to the ring and tells Angle that the match will take place. McMahon continues by saying that Kurt Angle is the WWF World Champion. He holds the most important championship in all of wrestling. McMahon puts confidence in Kurt Angle by telling him that he is the best, and that he can take care of business tonight. Angle awkwardly hugs McMahon as Smackdown goes to commercial.
Commercials
Opening Contest: Raven defeated Crash Holly to retain the WWF Hardcore Championship: Crash Holly waits at the top of the entrance ramp to hit Raven with a trash can lid as Raven made his entrance. Both men would brawl all around the entrance ramp where Raven would through Crash off the side and Crash would well, crash down onto the guard railing. Raven would continue to hit Crash with trash cans and kendo sticks. They would battle to the ring where Crash planted Raven with a tornado DDT onto a chair but couldn’t get the win. Raven battled back with a drop toe hold onto the chair and would follow up with a DDT to retain the championship.
Backstage, Jonathan Coachman is with Tazz. Coach asks Tazz what is on his mind. Tazz tells Coach that he is sick and tired of being called wasted talent in WWF. Tazz also can’t stand the faction Right to Censor. Tazz wants to choke Steven Richards out to the point where Richards throat is damaged to point Richards will not ever be able to talk, again. Tazz finishes the segment saying “Richards, beat me if you can … survive if I let you!”.
Backstage, Marc Lloyd is with Steve Austin. Lloyd asks Austin for his thoughts on teaming with the Rock to take on Kurt Angle and Triple H. Austin tells Lloyd that tonight he gets to take on three guys that he hates. Lloyd reminds him that Rock is on his team. Austin replies by saying “Son, when the WWF World Championship is up for grabs, there are never teams.” Austin finishes the segment off by telling all three men that Stone Cold Steve Austin is going to kick their ass and that is the bottom line.
Commercials
Second Contest: D’Lo Brown defeated William Regal in a non-title match: D’Lo is no longer associated with Tiger Ali Singh and is back to the D’Lo of 1998. Regal was surprised to have to face a newly focused D’Lo as well. Brown got in plenty of offense including a spinning heel kick and a spine buster to nearly the win match early on. Regal took Brown down with a double under hook power bomb but couldn’t keep Brown’s shoulders down. Regal attempted a arm trap neck breaker but D’Lo got out of the hold and connected with a sit out power bomb. D’Lo leaps off the top and connects with a frog splash to pick up the win! After the match, Regal can not believe that D’Lo managed to beat him. Regal grabs his belt and walks to the back holding his ribs. D’Lo plays to the crowd and signals that he wants the belt.
Backstage, Marc Lloyd is with the Undertaker. Undertaker is shadow boxing as Lloyd tries to ask Taker a question. Taker stops and gets right in Lloyd’s face. Taker knows he is going to ask him about Rikishi. Taker says that in due time he will take on Rikishi in “my yard” and that Rikishi will regret the day he messed with him. Taker says that Rikishi is a “Dead Man Walking”.
Commercials
Backstage, Jonathan Coachman is with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. HHH tells Coachman that he has had a history with all three men. HHH has beaten the Rock numerous times, he has beaten Steve Austin, and he will beat Kurt Angle. HHH continues by saying that he will end Steve Austin’s career since Rikishi couldn’t get the job done and that he will take Kurt Angle out and take his belt for trying to ruin his marriage. HHH finishes the segment by saying “It’s time to play the Game”.
Third Contest: Billy Gunn defeated Rikishi and Val Venis to become the #1 contender to the WWF Intercontinental Championship: Rikishi and Venis work on Gunn early on until Rikishi turns on Venis with a super kick. Rikishi missed a running back splash in the corner and that allowed Gunn to deliver a running bulldog. Venis got back into the action with a short arm clothesline on Gunn. Venis also took Gunn down with a gut wrench power bomb for a near fall. Late in the match, Gunn planted Rikishi with the Fame Asser but was planted by Venis with a DDT. Venis would attempt the Money Shot, but Rikishi managed to just roll out of the way. Venis popped up holding his ribs and was met with the Fame Asser once again. Gunn covers Venis to pick up the win. After the match, Gunn celebrates as Rikishi rolls to the floor and heads to the backstage area. However, the Undertaker comes out and has a biker chain. Taker hits Rikishi several times and busts him wide open. Taker would also choke slam Rikishi off the side of the entrance ramp through a table!
Commercials
Fourth Contest: Edge and Christian defeated Too Cool in a non-title match: Edge and Christian control the majority of the contest controlling Scotty 2 Hotty. Edge would deliver the Downward Spiral on Scotty, but couldn’t win the match at that point. Christian also got some offense in on Scotty connecting with a reverse DDT. Scotty would battle out of a double team situation and take both Edge and Christian down with face busters and connect with the worm as well. Grandmaster Sexay would get the tag and clothesline Edge out of the ring. Sexay took Christian down with a swinging neck breaker as well. Late in the match, Christian would plant Sexay with the Un-Prettier to pick up the win.
Backstage, Marc Lloyd is with the Rock. That doesn’t last long as Rock simply shoves Lloyd out of camera view. Rock says that tonight he will send all three men to Smackdown Hotel. He focuses on his own tag team partner, Steve Austin first. Rock says that they have had a history for four years, and that will continue. Rock says that he will remain focus and will never trust Steve Austin. Rock turns to Triple H saying that they have had some brutal matches and he expects nothing less tonight. Rock finally turns his attention to Kurt Angle saying that Angle has his title belt and that tonight he will pin Angle on “his show” and get a title shot. Rock finishes the segment off by doing his “if you smell what the Rock is cooking” bit.
Fifth Contest: Ivory defeated Molly Holly to retain the WWF Womens Championship: This was really just a filler match before the big main event. Molly controlled Ivory early on with several scoop slams and a dropkick to the back of Ivory as she was seated in the ring. Ivory battled back with a snap suplex following a knee to the midsection and delivered a northern lights suplex. Ivory attempted a DDT but Molly rammed Ivory back first into the corner. Ivory would manage to trip Molly up and roll her up while using the ropes for leverage to retain the championship. After the match, Ivory taunts the crowd until Chyna’s music hits. Ivory is deathly afraid and bails through the crowd. Chyna signals that she is coming for the title belt.
Commercials
Backstage, Road Dogg and K-Kwik are having a rap battle. Kane happens to walk by and hears Dogg says “burning” and “on fire”. That sets Kane off and he attacks both men. Kane choke slams Road Dogg through a catering table while delivering a tombstone to Kwik on the concrete floor. Security runs over to attend to Road Dogg and K-Kwik.
Main Event: The Rock/Steve Austin defeated WWF World Champion Kurt Angle/Triple H: A big main event for Smackdown with four of WWF’s biggest superstars doing battle. Neither team could really get along. HHH would tag in Angle by slapping him across the face. Angle got some good offense in on the Rock connecting with a series of German suplex’s and a overhead belly to belly suplex. Rock would take Angle down with a spine buster and tag in Austin. Austin brawled with Angle and knocked Triple H off the apron. Angle snuck up from behind to deliver the Angle Slam and HHH tagged himself in as Angle taunted the fans. HHH went for pedigree but Rock entered and Rock Bottomed HHH down. Angle and Rock battled to the floor while HHH and Austin traded rights in the ring. Late in the match, HHH had Rock set up for a pedigree. However, Chris Jericho ran down with a steel chair and nailed HHH over the head with the chair. The referee was distracted by Austin and Angle fighting on the floor. Rock would deliver the People’s Elbow on HHH to pick up the win. After the match, Chris Jericho leaves through the crowd as fans pat him on the back. Rock plays to the crowd on the middle turnbuckle and when he turns around is met with a Stunner from Steve Austin. Austin taunts Rock and plays to the fans as Smackdown goes off the air.

Nitro 1/1/01 - Lance Storm defeating Konnan is a good way to kick off Nitro. I am a huge fan of Lance Storm so it is good to see you building him up nicely. I am shocked to see Ric Flair bring in Rick Steiner to face his younger brother Scott Steiner. Terry Funk retaining is fine. I strongly believe Funk could be doing bigger and better things than fighting in the hardcore division, although I really think you should drop the division as a whole. I liked the backstage altercation with Double J, Bagwell and Cat until Goldberg made the save. I think Goldberg could be doing better things than saving the Cat. I love that you are building up Helms and I hope he wins the strap soon. I would love for the Franchise to be WCW champion. I don’t care for either Triple Threat or Misfits in Action so that match was a wash away for me. The Insiders retaining via disqualification was smart booking. I truly hope you can do something special with Awesome. Goldberg and Cat defeating Jarrett and Bagwell makes sense. I liked Luger attacking Goldberg after the match. Scott defeating Rick was expected, but still good. I like Sid Vicious attacking Scott after the match to close the show.
Raw 1/1/01 - Amazing opening segment and Jericho taking on Angle for the gold will be amazing. I hope you feud these two for the title as that could be pure gold. The Hardy Boyz defeating the Dudley Boys seems good to me. I think Edge and Christian will hold on to the titles regardless though. Rock facing Test is kind of lackluster as Test is not a serious competitor. You have a rather humorous error as you wrote “Raven manages to shove Raven into a closet” but the segment was still good. I hope you do something decent with Tazz as I think he could be a major star. Great Austin segment and I hope he feuds well with Triple H. I hope you can do a Rock/Austin/Triple H feud as that would be immense. I hated Rikishi’s push at this time so I hope Undertaker can get the best of him quickly and move on. I like Trish tricking Test into getting angry with Rock. Kane defeating Bradshaw is simple but effective. I like Beniot defending and retaining the IC title on Raw as it makes him a more serious champion. I like how motivated Triple H seems to be. Rock going over Test was expected. I am shocked to see Triple H help Angle retain the gold and I hope you explain his reasoning next week. I love Austin coming out to brawl with Hunter and Jericho trying to get his hands on Angle. I can see either a fatal four way for the title at the Rumble or Austin/Hunter and Jericho/Angle taking place. Good show and I enjoyed it more than Nitro.
Thunder 1/3/01 – A rather weak line up for Thunder, but I guess that is realistic. Kronik winning the opening contest is solid in my books. I like Wright giving up on Disco after the match. I like Sanders still trying to take control even though he doesn’t have the power. Mike Awesome defeating Norman Smiley was expected. I love this serious Mike Awesome and I hope you do something good with him. I expected Douglas to win so I can’t say I am surprised. I like that you are toying with a Steiner injury angle. I like Sid challenging Steiner to a stretcher match, good call there. I wish Bam Bam Bigelow was in a better role as I feel he could be a major star. I like General Rection getting the upper hand over Douglas after the match. Sid winning the squash match keeps his momentum going so I won’t complain. Cat challenging Double J was shocking, but I like it. Goldberg defeating Stasiak was expected, but I like it. I hope Goldberg gets really close to beating his old streak and loses before he can break it.
Smackdown 1/4/01 - Huge tag team main event for Smackdown and I am sure all hell will break lose. Tremendous opening segment and I can’t complain about anything. Raven retaining his hardcore title is good. I love Raven and I wish he could do some better things, but I do like him always on the show. I love that you are letting Tazz become a more serious force. Nice Austin promo and it served as good hype for the main event. I would have preferred Regal going over Brown, but they could work a decent program together. I really hope Undertaker can quickly move on to bigger and better things. Good Triple H segment. I wish Rikishi was not involved in the triple threat as I feel it hurts his momentum. Rikishi really got destroyed by Undertaker. I wonder where you will take the feud now. Edge and Christian defeating Too Cool sounds good to me. Solid Rock promo and I liked his the best. I love Kane snapping on Road Dogg and K-Kwik. A tremendous main event and I liked Jericho getting involved. I love Rock getting a Stunner from Austin, good work there.
I have to say that the WWF is destroying WCW in my opinion. I can’t wait to see an ECW show.

Extreme Championship Wrestling presents Hardcore TV Date: 1/6/2001 From: Buffalo, New York Announcers: Joey Styles and Cyrus
Joey Styles and Cyrus are standing in the middle of the ring with a riled up crowd chanting “EC Dub”. Styles welcomes everyone to the show and strongly promotes Guilty As Charged live this Sunday from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Cyrus hypes up the Jerry Lynn/Rob Van Dam match and says that Lynn will beat RVD for the second time. Cyrus also mentions that Lynn will be competing tonight against Little Guido. Styles continues to promote the show which will see Sandman take on Johnny Swinger. Cyrus doesn’t believe Sandman can remain sober enough to win the ECW World Championship this Sunday when he and Justin Credible challenge Steve Corino. They lastly promote the ECW Television Championship match which will see Rhino take on Spike Dudley. Cyrus hopes that Rhino re-breaks Spike’s leg and ends the career of Spike.
ECW opening video
Opening Contest: Sandman defeated Johnny Swinger: Sandman controlled Swinger with several kendo stick shots. Sandman takes Swinger down with a flapjack before Swinger rolling to the floor. Swinger would get the advantage on the floor delivering a chair shot to the head of Sandman which staggers Sandman. Swinger crotches Sandman onto the guard railing and connects with a power slam on the concrete floor. Sandman battles back with a side Russian leg sweep against the guard railing. Sandman sends a ladder into the ring and sends Swinger back into the ring. Swinger drops the ladder across the back of Sandman a few times to get some more offense in. Sandman would plant Swinger with a DDT onto the ladder and come off the top connecting with a senton splash onto the ladder which was on top of Swinger to win the match.

Backstage, Steve Corino is sitting down looking at the ECW World Championship he has placed on a bench. Corino says that he had looked at the belt from a distance for nearly two years, hoping that one day he would earn himself a shot. Once he got that shot he would make sure he would deliver and win the belt, and he did just that. Corino looks right into the camera and tells the Sandman and Justin Credible that he waited far to long to just roll over and let them beat him for the title, that will not happen. He will go down as the greatest ECW World Champion in the history of ECW and in order for him to do that, he needs to prove it. Corino says that he will prove that at Guilty As Charged when he pins both men.
Commercials
Joey Styles and Cyrus promote various house shows and television tapings taking place around the country.
Second Contest: Jerry Lynn defeated Little Guido: Lynn with a tilt a whirl backbreaker a springboard leg drop for a near fall early on. Guido battled back with a single arm DDT and a snap swinging neck breaker. Lynn would comeback with a snap suplex and backdrop Guido over the top to the floor. Lynn would spring off the middle rope and connect with a cross body on the floor. Guido would manage to drop toe hold Lynn face first into the ring steps. Back in the ring, Guido hit the Kiss of Death but Lynn kicked out. Guido missed the Sicilian Slice and was planted by Lynn with a tornado DDT. Lynn spikes Guido with the cradle pile driver to win the match.
Backstage, Simon Diamond is pondering on what to say before he notices the camera. Diamond says he has a problem with Balls Mahoney. As Diamond speaks, footage from a few weeks ago where Mahoney smashed a chair over Diamond’s head is shown. Diamond says that chairs are met to be sat on, not smashed over peoples heads. Diamond says he will have to solve this problem with Mahoney at Guilty As Charged and begin to get noticed here in ECW.

Backstage, Tommy Dreamer is sitting in his locker room banging the back of his head against the wall. Dreamer mentions his I Quit Match against CW Anderson at Guilty As Charged and asks Anderson if he is willing to put himself through pain to prepare himself for the pain Dreamer will cause him to feel. Dreamer continues by saying that he has heard people saying that this will be CW Anderson’s chance to make a name for himself, and Dreamer is going to be the guy who Anderson can say he beat to become a star. Dreamer asks CW if he is “prepared to die.. Because I am!”. Dreamer proceeds to hit his head against the wall several times.
Main Event: Rhino defeated Spike Dudley to retain the ECW Television Championship: Spike and Rhino brawl into the crowd and Spike throws several chairs to the face of Rhino. Spike tries to run up the wall to hit a Acid Drop but Rhino simply throws Spike down. Rhino scoop slams Spike onto several chairs. They brawl back around ringside where Rhino takes Spike down with a side belly to belly suplex on the floor. Rhino goes under the ring and grabs a table. Rhino turns around and is met with a title shot from Spike. Spike managed to put Rhino on the table and went to the top turnbuckle looking for a double stomp. However, Rhino managed to move and Spike crashed through the table and ended up holding his injured leg. Late in the match, Rhino had set up another table in the corner and managed to gore Spike through the table. Rhino would follow up with a pile driver and picked up the win to retain the title. After the match, Rhino looks to go for a second pile driver, this time from the second rope but Kid Kash ran down and saved Spike. Kash would even manage to hurricanrana Rhino off the middle rope. Rhino and Kash would brawl as the show goes off the air.

WCW Thunder: Wednesday 3rd January 2001...Alright way to start things off with Kronik in action against Disco Inferno and Alex Wright. Kronik picking up the win is fine, I have no problem with a little affection for Bryan Clarke and Brian Adams. Wright turning on Inferno? Hmm, interesting, but I really wish it was the other way round; I much preferred Disco, and I hate Disco. Good promo from the Natural Born Thrillers, I hope they friking dominate in this diary in World Championship Wrestling. Goldberg should win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Starrcade, please let there be like a major wait in between. Because this is diamond, what you are seemingly going to do. Norman Smiley was getting a decent run here, but Mike Awesome beating him doesn't exactly surprise me. Awesome turning away from being a gimmick is nice, hopefully his feud with Bam Bam Bigelow continues upon the Ambulance match that took place at Starrcade 2000. Wonder if you have Eric Bischoff and/or Vince Russo return. Come to think about it...will WCW live onwards? Hmm. The Triple Threat's feud with Missing In Action is good, but I hope General Rection overthrows Shane Douglas. I like Douglas, but I much prefer Rection. Corporal Cajun...that was Lash LeRoux, right? Sid coming to the ring was cool, but he wasn't carrying the 'Vicious' name around this time. He was just Sid. A stretcher match at Sin is good, and cleaner than the four-corner match that actually did take place. Though, I hope Scott Steiner retains. General Rection beating Bam Bam Bigelow is fine, good match here, hard-hitting I predict it'd be. Bigelow could be WCW US Heavyweight Champion one day, but he isn't too ready just yet. Please don't go with the Magnificent Seven, that was like a new nWo, and I was a Magnificent Seven fan, too. Sid beating Reno is fine, but should have taken place immediately after his promo, really. Just to further intimidate Scott Steiner. No interaction with Big Vito and Reno? Shame. The Cat's segment was meh, really hope Jeff Jarrett wins the feud. Goldberg killing Shawn Stasiak was predictable. Good show this week, that main event was pretty weak, though.
WWF SmackDown!: Thursday 4th January 2001...Decent promo to kick things off on this edition of SmackDown!, with Kurt Angle coming out to the ring once again. Only error I saw here was that the WWF Champion, Kurt Angle didn't get the 'You Suck' chants until the 2002 Draft, so I wasn't too fond of that in particular. Angle bragging about defeating The Rock, and Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Triple H is greatly underhanded, and handled greatly. Vince McMahon coming out is fine, but I wasn't too fond of the way that promo ended. Raven beating Crash Holly is fine, not a bad opening contest, Raven should be a dominant WWF Hardcore Champion, but for realistic purposes, I hope that there is frequent title changes in the division. Tazz's segment was okay, but he will murder Steven Richards unless Right To Censor get involved. D-Lo Brown I wish had been explained, for why he is suddenly no longer a part of Lo Down with Chaz and Tiger Ali Singh. Also not a fan of William Regal losing, as this time last week, he pinned Stone Cold Steve Austin on RAW. Hopefully D-Lo doesn't win the WWF European Championship, and also hope that they don't battle for the title at Royal Rumble; that isn't too appealing in my mind. Undertaker and Rikishi's feud is getting interesting. Billy Gunn gaining contention to the WWF Intercontinental Championship over Rikishi? Hmm...I don't know what to think, but on the other hand, Rikishi and Chris Benoit would have an awkward match, considering they're both heels. 'Taker and Rikishi would be good for the Rumble, but they should be in the actual Royal Rumble match. Val Venis fullstop shouldn't be in this title situation. Scotty 2 Hotty was injured in October 2000, so I wasn't a fan of seeing Too Cool here. Grandmaster Sexay was positioned with Steve Blackman by this time, but the win for Edge and Christian gets them over as credible WWF Tag Team Champions in the feud with the Hardy Boyz. I see you going with TLC III at WrestleMania X-Seven, and I hope that happens. Where are the Dudley Boyz? Ivory beating Molly Holly is fine, love Molly as a wrestler. She should hold the WWF Womens Championship down the line, maybe in the summer. Chyna coming out? She got piledriven on her head and was selling the severe neck injury, so I'm not fond of her appearing. Road Dogg and K-Kwik's segment was sweet but...Kane attack? Spontaneously random, in a negative way. Almost a cry to get Kane on the show. Wasn't a fan of that. Great main event to close down the show, with The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin overcoming Kurt Angle and Triple H. Rock pinning Triple H? No Angle there? Hmm, I hope it's Austin vs Angle at Royal Rumble for the WWF Championship. Good show.
ECW Hardcore TV: Saturday 6th January 2001...Alright, you mean Saturday the 6th, not Sunday the 7th when this show was aired. Nice weak opening contest to get Sandman over in a good fashion, beating Johnny Swinger there. Pretty decent in my mind, for what it was. Steve Corino's segment was fine, not a problem there, sets up for the Stairway to Hell match upcoming at ECW Guilty as Charged this Sunday, against Justin Credible and Sandman. Jerry Lynn beating Little Guido is okay, would have been fairly competitive I'd think. I hope you introduce the Hot Commodity as a good tag team in the division. Tommy Dreamer better beat CW Anderson in the I Quit match, I really don't dig Anderson. Hopefully ECW stays alive, by the way. But it would be more realistic if they died by the spring, shameful to say. Rhino beating Spike Dudley is fine, good defense of the ECW World Television Championship. Overall, this show was a good hype for Guilty as Charged, but it wasn't one that you'd definitely want to see, looking back.

-Good job promoting this edition of Hardcore TV, everything Cyrus said was realistic -Sandman, despite being an awful wrestler, had to win that match as he's contesting for the ECW Title -Love the Corino promo, man I miss him as ECW Champion -Lynn over Guido was obvious, keep pushing Lynn -Can't wait for the I Quit match, it was great in real life -Very good main event, figured Rhino would retain and the post match brawl with him & Kash was great
Good, solid edition of Hardcore TV, can't wait to get more into this and start reading the WWF section.

A solid opening segment to hype Guilty As Charged. Sandman winning the opening contest is good as it gives him hype going into his title match this Sunday. I love the Steve Corino promo as it had emotion to it. Jerry Lynn defeating Little Guido was good and I feel Lynn is the stronger competitor. I hated the Simon Diamond character and I hope Balls destroys him at the Pay Per View. I am a C.W Anderson mark so I hope he can defeat Tommy Dreamer and get a solid push. Rhino defending and retaining against Spike was good, I cannot complain there. Overall, a good show and you did a great job hyping the PPV. A solid opening segment to hype Guilty As Charged. - Good way to hype the night's big matches. Should be a good show. - Diamond/Mahoney sounds like it was a good match up. Glad to see someone made the save afterwards. - Would have preffered Matthews/York over Hot Commodity. Good work though with the finish. - Great contest between Tajiri and Super Crazy. Best match thus far. - Liked the finish to the Tag Title match. Good work. - Epic battle between Dreamer and Anderson. I loved the finish. - Kash/Rhyno was good. The aftermath was great as well, the Sabu/Rhyno feud should be good. - Really enjoyed reading Lynn/RVD. Great match up man. - Main event was well booked. Liked Sandman's elimination. The ending was great as well man.
Great work on this show man. The next Hardcore TV should be very interesting.

I love that you kept the traditional ECW vibe by having a PPV rundown open the show. I can deal with Simon Diamond winning; however, I thought Balls Mahoney would have it in the bag. Hot Commodity winning makes sense to me, good call there. Crazy wining is fine as they would put on a great match, but I was more interested by Mikey Whipwreck attacking Crazy after the match. I would have loved the F.B.I to win the match, but I think Roadkill and Danny Doring can have a great reign as champions. I Was a little disappointed to see Tommy Dreamer defeat C.W Anderson, as I feel Anderson could have gone far with a victory. Rhino defeating Kid Kash makes sense and I love it. I think Rhyno can maintain being a dominant character if you let him be so. I like Rob Van Dam defeating Jerry Lynn to make their series 1-1 and I would love for them to meet again next month. I love that Steve Corino retained as I think he can be a terrific champion. Overall, a nice show and I Enjoyed it a lot.

Wrestling Observer January 1st - 7th, 2001
ECW News -- The return of Sabu at last nights Guilty As Charged surprised not only the fans but several wrestlers involved in the company. Word is that Sabu will not be a full time competitor as Paul Heyman can not afford him. Instead, it is believed that Sabu will work only pay per views and large events. That could change, however, if ECW were to turn around and begin to make money.
-- Expect ECW World Champion Steve Corino to have a lengthy run with the title. Corino is regarded as the companies best heel talker and worker. However, the run isn’t expected to be as long as Shane Douglas had from late 1997 to early 1999.
-- Even though CW Anderson lost to Tommy Dreamer at Guilty As Charged, it is believed that CW Anderson will receive a very big push. Anderson has impressed many in ECW and it appears that Anderson will be used in a upper mid-card/main event caliber level. Many hope by mid year, Anderson could be a ECW World Champion challenger. As for Anderson’s opponent at Guilty As Charged Tommy Dreamer, Dreamer has earned a ECW World Championship match at Cyberslam. ECW management feel this could greatly help ECW in terms of buy-rates and ticket sales.
-- ECW Television Champion Rhino is still expected to be booked as a dominating force. Officials have been extremely happy with how Rhino has been performing and will continue to push Rhino as one of their top heels in the company. Many have wondered if Rhino will be involved in the ECW World Championship scene. Reportedly, Rhino will be involved in the title scene sometime in the summer of 2001.
-- Do not expect Rob Van Dam to win the ECW World Championship anytime soon. It is believed that RVD doesn’t need the belt to help him get over considering he is the most popular wrestler in ECW. Plans could change, but as of right now, RVD is not in line to get a ECW World Championship run.
-- Simon Diamond will soon become the leader of a new heel stable in the coming weeks. Officials have high hopes for Diamond and hope by end of the year Diamond is a top tier heel for the company.
-- It is being reported that the Sandman is not a priority for ECW. Apparently, many within ECW feel that Sandman doesn’t need to win matches to get “over” with the crowd. Seemingly even if Sandman loses, he remains extremely popular with the fans. It is believed that Sandman will be helping to put over younger talented heels and even baby faces while remaining at the top of the card.
- Lastly, the troubles of ECW have been highly publicized and the possibility of ECW going out of business has been brought. Word is that Tommy Dreamer has two investors who are willing to clear the debt of ECW and invest some money into ECW, something that is greatly needed. Paul Heyman has yet to make a decision on the matter.
WCW News -- Officials are said to be happy with the progression of the Sid/Scott Steiner feud for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. It appears that at WCW Sin, that will be the blow off to their feud.
-- WCW sees Diamond Dallas Page and Kevin Nash as main event caliber talent and not tag team wrestlers. However, it remains unclear if they will lose the tag team titles at Sin, let alone anytime in the near future.
-- Booker T is scheduled to return to WCW by February 2001. Sting is scheduled to return to WCW by late March 2001. Booker has been out of action with a knee injury. While, Sting was simply taking time off to do another movie.
-- Lance Storm is expected to be in line for a big push. Officials believe that he could be a fresh face in the main event scene. Officials believe that the heel side of the main even scene has been rather stale. -- Mike Awesome is also expected to be given a decent push with a serious gimmick. Awesome has been praised with his recent in-ring work.
-- Major Stash has been released from WCW.
-- Disco Inferno is in line for a baby face push. Many feel that WCW dropped the ball with Inferno back in 1999. With the lack of top tier talent, WCW feels that this is a good time to try and push Inferno to become a top tier baby face.
-- The Natural Born Thrillers are going to be slowly pushed to become a dominate force in WCW. Out of the group, Mike Sanders, Sean O’Haire and Mark Jindrak are considered to have the most potential. While, Chuck Palumbo is considered to have the least amount of potential.
WWF News -- The plan is for Chris Jericho to be elevated to the main event scene, or at least be able to sometimes make a main event appearance. Considering his recent interactions with Kurt Angle, officials feel that is a realistic chance.
-- Expect Tazz to be given a decent push. Tazz has been unhappy with his recent role in WWF and has been given the chance to prove the WWF that he can appeal to a bigger marker than just the north east.
-- The Undertaker/Rikishi feud is scheduled to last until No Way Out. It isn’t expected that Rikishi will remain in the upper card.
-- Reports have been circulating that at the Royal Rumble, their will be four surprise entrants. That is the truth as 26 men will be announced in the match. No word as to whom the other four men will be.
-- Discussion on who should win the Royal Rumble has been going on for several weeks. The usual suspects have been thrown around (Austin, Rock, HHH). However, many feel that it is time for a fresh face to rise to the top.
-- Expect Raven to distance himself from the WWF Hardcore Championship. Many have felt he is being wasted. He is expected start working with men higher up the card.
-- Ekmo and Kimo down in OVW are likely to debut soon in the WWF. The tag team division is said to need a fresh tag team, and it is believed that Ekmo and Kimo would fit in the best.

ECW Guilty As Charged: Sunday 7th Janary 2001...Alright, looks like it'll be a somewhat decent diary, so let's see what this ends up being like. Simon Diamond and Balls Mahoney wouldn't have a great opening bout, but I suppose it gets the audience set up on fire for the rest of the show. Chilly Willy attacking Diamond afterwards, in my eyes, wasn't so necessary. Could have just done with Simon beating Balls. Hot Commodity beating Christian York and Joey Matthews...I prefer York and Matthews. Please push them to the ECW World Tag Team Championships in the future, though. Super Crazy and Yoshihiro Tajiri would have had a crowd-pleasing match, Super Crazy beating Tajiri is fine but again, I could have just done with the handshake. Mikey Whipwreck wasn't needed, it ruined the moment. Danny Doring and Roadkill beating the Full Blooded Italians is okay, but I really wasn't fond of Doring and Roadkill as ECW World Tag Team Champions. Tommy Dreamer beating CW Anderson is the right decision, good idea there. Rhino beating Kid Kash is a fine example of an ECW World Television Championship defense. Great win for Rob Van Dam in a historic match with Jerry Lynn, in 2001 I hope for RVD to win the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. Lastly, great three-way dance win for Steve Corino over The Sandman and Justin Credible. Overall, it was a good show, enjoyable, but really had some awkward moments in it.

Opening segment was a good way to kick-start the show. Sid/Steiner should be a fun match at Sin. Can't see Scott Steiner losing, somehow. Lance Storm/Billy Kidman is a fantastic match. I'm looking forward to The Filthy Animals vs. Team Canada at Sin. One thing though, Kid Romeo never was in Team Canada. The team was Storm, Skipper, Awesome and Major Gunns. Don't recall you swapping Romeo for Awesome, either. Disco Inferno vs. Alex Wright solidifies the split between The Boogie Knights. Would have liked Alex Wright to have gone over, though. Mike Awesome push is good. Not a fan of just quietly removing Awesome from Team Canada, though. Mark Jindrak never was going to beat Goldberg. Helms/Kaz is a solid match. Hopefully you haven't/won't split up The Jung Dragons. Sanders/Rection seems more like a Thunder match, to be completely honest. Pretty good main event. Not shocked that Nash pinned Palumbo. It was either Palumbo or Stasiak taking the pinfall there.

- Amazing opening segment and you actually gave me a reason to look forward to Steiner taking on Sid - I love seeing Lance Storm pick up another victory and I am really enjoying the idea of him getting a push - The six man tag match as Sin should be a great contest - Disco Inferno defeating Alex Wright is okay, but I am far from a fan of Disco - I love the serious Mike Awesome - it is a great character. Meng accepting the challenge works and I think they can put on a decent match at Sin - I hope Sanders defeats General Rection for the WCW United States Championship. - Goldberg defeating Mark Jindrak makes sense. I hope Goldberg gets far with his streak, but loses before he gets the title - Lex Luger and Buff Bagwell trying a good old sneak attack was great and I love that it failed - Shane Helms defeating Kaz Hayashi is decent and I like Chavo attacking Helms after the match - “the French Fries” Shane Douglas – that made me laugh - General Rection wins :/ - I love Shane Douglas laying out General after the match - A rather weak main event to close the show, but I guess it makes for good build up to the PPV - Overall, a good show and better than last week’s Nitro

RAW opening video
Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcome everyone to RAW, and point out that RAW will quickly start off with a match for the WWF Hardcore Championship!

WCW Monday Nitro: Monday 8th January 2001...Scott Steiner kicking off this edition of Monday Nitro is fine, the WCW World Heavyweight Champion coming out anhd commenting on Sid's attack of him last week on Nitro. Sid and Steiner should have a decent match at Sin, hopefully it'll be superior to the lacklustre main event of Starrcade 2000. Ric Flair hopefully becomes a rival of Steiner too, in the near future. I'd enjoy that, if Flair stepped down from the President situation. Good opening contest with Lance Storm defeating Billy Kidman. Not a bad match, in fact. Rey Misterio Jr running in for the save with Konnan is good, a Team Canada and Filthy Animals feud would be pretty good and hopefully it lasts past Sin. Disco Inferno and Alex Wright shouldn't really have taken place. I was not a big fan of this match in my opinion, as it would barely make midcard match on Thursday Thunder, for my liking. Inferno using a piledriver during the match was bad, too. Disco winning is fine, I really don't care about the Dancing Fools. Mike Awesome making an open challenge for Sin is good. Meng and Awesome at Sin would be intense, two outstanding brawlers. Goldberg beating Mark Jindrak is fine, nice to see him ploughing through the Natural Born Thrillers one by one, but in the long run it doesn't do a whole lot for the younger stars. Goldberg increasing his undefeated streak is okay though, I suppose. Lex Luger and Buff Bagwell hyping up the end of Goldberg's career is nice, but I see Goldberg overcoming the odds. Random attack by Big Vito in the Mamalukes on the WCW World Hardcore Champion, Terry Funk. Nevermind. Shane Helms beating Kaz Hayashi is fine, good win for Helms as it sets him up for Sin's match with WCW World Cruiserweight Champion, Chavo Guerrero Jr. Actually wish this had opened up now. By the way, I'd much prefer you using traditional red font if you use color on your layouts for Nitro. Same for Thunder; that show would look better with the blue color. I know you're looking for different colors for the two different promotions, WWF and WCW's RAW, Nitro, SmackDown! and Thunder, but it's better. I am not a fan of the orange. General Rection, yes! Hopefully you keep him on this level even after he loses the WCW US Heavyweight Championship. Mike Sanders was super charismatic, hopefully he gets a push in the future. Shane Douglas I can see becoming the new WCW United States Heavyweight Champion. It would have been a great main event...had Scott Steiner or Sid been in it. I could have used a lot more than a promo to hype that feud with six days to Sin. Plus, The Cat being in this match let me down, even though Jarrett and Cat are feuding, as are the InSiders and Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'Haire. I'd have loved to see this as first-hour main event. Sid or Steiner should have definitely main evented though. It was a good episode, some flaws though, but a lot better than last week.
WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 8th January 2001...I don't think that RAW is WAR should have started with a match, a promo would have been better, if you ask me. Al Snow and Raven had a decent opening contest though, but you ruined what could have been a great angle with the WWF Hardcore Championship. Raven had vowed to be the champ for all of 2001, and that 2001 would be 'Year of the Raven'. Al beating him here ruins that, but hopefully this means you will push Raven. Al Snow then celebrating with the title without any occurences or title steal attempts was strange, though. No backstage brawling? Aww. I think that Jim Ross and Jerry "King" Lawler should have hyped tonight's matches before the opener, really. Would have been much better. Looks to be a solid card, though. Looking forward to it. Same for Vince McMahon's promo. Promos weren't put on after the opening contest too often in the WWF. This isn't WCW. Vince McMahon should have really came out and addressed the situation at the start of the show to gain viewers. Kane getting in Vince's way of approval eh? Intereesting. Kane shooting was good, sort of, but I really hope that he doesn't become the winner of the Royal Rumble. Test and Albert's segment was interesting, nobody to my memory could pull off the disbanding of T&A properly, let's hope you do it, and has Test win because Albert was awful until like 2004. The Hardy Boyz being the ones to beat T&A cause tension in the team was good. But Albert taking Test down? Hmm, guess this makes Test the face. I'm happy about that anyway. Kurt Angle and The Undertaker having mid-card main event after mid-carding Survivor Series too in a non-title match was interesting. I think 'Taker should have won this one, I mean Angle has beat 'Taker before, and 'Taker should have been able to finally get revenge for what happened two weeks ago; plus one win to 'Taker wouldn't hurt Angle too much. The six man tag team match was interesting, but god damn I hate that Lo Down are being featured on RAW, even if they have split up. Also the fact that Lo Down and T&A have split up is annoying, as it's basically the same angle going on twice. D-Lo Brown will always be a lower midcard talent to me. William Regal, Chaz and Tiger Ali Singh beating D-Lo and the Dudley Boyz is okay though, I guess. I just think that the Dudleys should have put somebody through a table; think of the momentum that they had going into the real Royal Rumble 2001, they won the WWF Tag Team Championships there. Wish they had that same fire going for them in this diary. I suppose Billy Gunn should have defeated Eddie Guerrero, and that's fine. But he better not win the WWF Intercontinental Championship at Royal Rumble. He didn't have the right look here, as he did a year before. He was also a lot worse in the ring than the year before, as his shoulder was still very weak from surgery in the past year. Chris Benoit attacking Gunn though? I'm scared in case Gunn wins in two weeks, now. Guerrero and Benoit hopefully slowly have miscommunication leading into WrestleMania X-Seven, splitting up unlike Lo Down and T&A and having a solid match for the WWF Intercontientnal Championship on April 1st. Hated the squash match for Kane over Road Dogg and K-Kwik; Road Dogg was better than Billy Gunn for sure. Also, squash matches never happened on RAW, would have been on the main event of Sunday Night Heat at maximum. Lastly, great main event but Chris Jericho of all people gaining contention to the WWF Championship? I love that you're focusing on the future in this diary, but The Rock, Triple H or Stone Cold Steve Austin would have been better than Y2J. The brawl taking place was good though. Hopefully we see Rock vs Austin vs Triple H at WrestleMania X-Seven for sure. Overall, it was a good edition, a lot of flaws though in booking. Some work to do, but this week's RAW was better than last week's.
Congrats on the spotlight, by the way.
