I'm curious as I've never seen this discussed.
Is there anything on a non-American card that's considered rare and/or valuable?
For example:
- The Canadian releases with the "Summerslam" motion cards packed in and a different backing card. - Figures that are still on the rare side loose, like Dusty. Are there any foreign carded (well, non-English language, since we've seen the Canadian motion card one) Dusty Rhodes figures known to exist (while we're at it, has the rarity of any of the figures in the earlier lines ever been explained? IE were they shortpacked, discontinued early, or what)? The KB assortments of foreign carded figures covered the first several series, didn't they?
Also, has there ever been an explanation for how/why they dumped all of those non-English foreign carded figures on KB? I don't recall seeing any other similar deluges of foreign packaged toys throughout the history of the 3/$10 KB deals.
Thanks!

Plenty of non-American cards are rare, but most are not highly collected. The Funskools are an exception because the figures are variants, not really because of the cards. I will be posting examples of all of the non-American card types in another thread.
There is no non-English Dusty. Dusty was pulled from the assortment early because he left the WWF.
KB just bought out whatever was sitting in the Hasbro distributor's warehouse at the time. It just happened to be the foreign packages. The often had the multi-language Canadian packages of many toy lines in the 3/$10 stuff.

Why do some say Official above the WWF logo and some don't?
Thanks

There is no non-English Dusty. Dusty was pulled from the assortment early because he left the WWF. Has this ever been confirmed, and if so, then how/where/by whom? It always sounded like a guess to me. I mean yes, it would make sense as far as the figure being rare, but they didn't pull any other figures because someone left. Does anyone remember exactly when series 2 was released (maybe going by which was the first Coliseum Video release with an ad for the series and when THAT was released)? I'm pretty sure Dusty was still around at that point as I don't remember thinking finding it dated. Even as a little kid, I usually noticed that sort of stuff. I don't think I ever saw a Dusty in a store after the first time I saw S2 at the local KB, but there were a lot of figures I only saw once or twice in local stores (Brutus 2, Natural Disasters, and Doink off the top of my head, to the point that I saw exactly a single Doink in the window of a local store which they held for me until they were ready to sell it) for whatever reason so I never gave much thought to it until the era of Figures Inc. ads and then the internet told me Dusty was actually very rare. There was a point where I speculated that it was just shortpacked due to an issue with the action mechanism being more expensive (back when Akeem was considered relatively scarce and Andre was considered somewhat rare) but with those 2 being a lot more common now, that can't be it.

It never was and what is even more troublesome is that this rumor persists. If that policy existed, then Nailz would have never even had a prototype shot released considering he choked out Vince McMahon, accused him of sexual abuse, and testified against him, opening his testimony with "I hate his guts" about a year previous to his figure being released.

Exactly.
I'd love to hear more about why Dusty is so rare, but that can't be true.
Going back to the action mechanism theory, it WAS the last one with that feature, so who knows?
The fact that there only seem to be American and Canadian Dustys (when I'm pretty sure that most, if not all other S2 figures were also available on Spanish and French cards) certainly gives credence to it being discontinued, though we don't know the reason.
Semi-related question, since we're talking about late changes: Are there foreign S2 cards with the Rhythm & Blues listing/without the Honky Tonk Man single figure or do they only have the revised packaging with no R&R and with HTM? I still remember being shocked when I found HTM in KB (to the point that I made sure to pick up extra ones for friends) because he wasn't on the initial card backs, which had Rhythm & Blues listed (I wanna say that there were also some without R&B OR HTM, but I'm not sure). I'm pretty sure HTM was the only S2 figure I had with the "proper" card back. Pre-internet, I figured HTM was rare because of the late change and only seeing it that time. As far as the English cards, would one backing be considering more rare than the other for the S2 figures? Are there any major (not just "ages X and up" type stuff) changes on the Hasbro card backs besides the IC -> world champ change for Warrior, the Akeem variations as far as the Twin Towers, and S2 with R&B/without HTM and vice versa?
