While the Hasbro scan thread seems pretty popular, I thought it would be nice to keep it Hasbro-specific... so I'm making a new thread for these ads I scanned recently from my magazine collection. AWA Remco (from a Pro Wrestling Illustrated issue, 1986): WWF LJN ad (from the inside back cover of a 1985 issue of WWF Magazine): And just to take my own thread off topic (lol), I am still looking for video of the ORIGINAL LJN TV commercial, from when the first series came out (Hogan #1, long hair Andre, Snuka, Sheik and Studd). The commercial had the wrestlers invade a kid's home while he was playing, and I distinctly remember Superfly leaping off the kid's staircase. YouTube has the more common LJN commercials, but I literally haven't seen the original since... well, probably since it aired, when I was a kid.

Would the commercial be on one of the old Coliseum videos? I remember they used to have the commercials at the beginning of the tape and I have a lot of them transferred to DVD.

Bob It's possible, but it would have to be one of the earlier Coliseum Videos from 1985 or possibly 86. I'm not sure if they were putting LJN commercials on Coliseum Videos at that point (I know they did later on, specifically the "Bring Home All The Action!" version).

I have a couple of tapes from the WWF 'classic' collection tv show that was aired in the UK a few years back, im sure i have 86-87 on tape. It would need to be transfered some how (i dont have a transfer machine), but i will quite happily view the tapes, if they feature the ad your talking about, i'll let you know.
If it turns out to be good luck, At least you will know that some one does have them in some form, and that they could be obtained some how... lol

Twelve bucks for an LJN? That explains why mommy would never buy me any.

Twelve bucks for an LJN? That explains why mommy would never buy me any. Yeah, figures in 1986 really weren't any cheaper than they are today. Most of my LJNs were bought off the pegs at major retail stores (Toys R Us, Ames, K-Mart, etc.) and while my parents paid for them, I recall them averaging about $8 at retail, give or take. We ordered one from the Sears Wish Book in 1987 or 1988 that ran us closer to $11, if I recall correctly.

I had a bunch of the silver AWA badges but I sold all my AWA figures, except for my Hawk & Animal with thier tag belts, and threw in the badges as a bonus.
