Just curious, but I seen on the Jakks forum on here that a lot of people said they were gonna sell their Jakks figures so they can collect Mattel. Like they just didn't care because of a new line by a new company was coming out which looked 'better' as so many have said.
I am just wondering if anyone here back in the day sold their Hasbro figures cause they either thought they were 'too old' to have toys or because they saw the Jakks BCA lines and wanted to have newer and recent figures, only to now regret selling the collection of Hasbro's that they had.
I know I did, I only kept the British Bulldog & Bret Hart for display, and looking back I wish I would have kept all of them to put up on display since I collect now, instead of playing like I did 15 or so years ago.

I never sold my hasbros to buy others because after hasbros came things like 'wwf bendems' and 'superstar series' which i never liked. The only things ive collected after hasbros are japanese wrestling and mma figures and jakks unmatched fury which i love because they display so well. I probably wont be buying any mattel, Im too stuck in the 80's and early 90s.

I always kept my hasbros although admittedly I didn't do anything with them for a while however I ended up getting back into collecting them a few years back and added the few I never had as a kid! I never dreamt of selling them even when they were just sat in storage.... Luckily by the time Jakks released their line up I was just out of the buying figures stage, I'm glad im back into collecting them now - I love searching for rare pieces and adding to my collection!

I didn't buy any Jakks until the Razor's Edge 3-pack (TTL I think), because before they were well, plain fugly... Jakks never knew how to sculpt faces, so realscan technology was a god-send gift for them! The regular Jakks figures I have I can still count on both hands: the already mentioned 3-pack, CS Rockers, 3-pack CS Jannetty and Santana, Michaels with the white IC-belt (because Jannetty won that same belt), Michaels vs Hogan 2-pack. I also have the Dolce Prezioci 2-inch figures because I'm a sucker for mini figures... Still debating whether I should buy a CS Mega Maniacs 3-pack or not... It'd be nice to have the Mega Maniacs, but Beefcake's outfit is pretty off. So, I surely didn't sell my Hasbros (I just had started collecting them!); Jakks figures looked more like bootlegs at the start, didn't like the WWF Attitude era, WCW looked fresher and OSFTM was gonna make the first moveable figs (and with way better faces than Jakks was sculpting): the ones with the action moves, I drooled all over my screen when JWLJN's wrestling newsletter showed the first pics "courtesy of Dan Matlega". Still have that pic too!

I kept mine and started trying to complete the standard loose set in 1998/9 as I knew from my Star Wars collecting days that complete sets are always good to have. I'm not fussed about mailaways & other rarities but do like seeing them on here. I passed on later stuff that came out as they just weren't as good as Hasbros.
I should have bought all the Jakks Classic Series which were available in Woolworthes but didn't at the time as didn't have the money. However, just started buying Jakks as loved the Real Scale Hell in a Cell.

As many on here might imagine - I've collected and sold the WWF Hasbro complete collection many times over.
I started by completing my WWF Hasbro LOOSE collection - then the MIB. Before the entire WWE Jakks figures came along - Hasbro's were a really hot commodity.
Kudos to my former WWF hasbro supplier - ebay user; erniefigures. I made that guy a small fortune, before I figured out how to sell them myself!

I had loads of figure originally with hundreds of duplicates and customs. I then sold them when i went to university because i needed the cash. I even traded hasbros at uni as money making scheme. When i finished and got a bit of cash I rebought a full mint on card collection.
I sometimes think about selling it but know i would buy them back a few years later
