I haven't got one on me which had a feature on a toy store in NY but I think that was an issue in 1994 as it had the green cards in it (I think Lex and possibly Michael Jordan were on the cover - can confirm next weekend).
These were taken from Feb, Mar and May 1991 and April 1993.

Wow. Thanks for sharing. I remember seeing the magazine add with 'Taker in the background. I wrote my Christmas list that day when I saw that. It was unbelievable.
That Crush is also cool. Wish we got the one with more red facepaint.

I remember most of these adds from the old WWF Mags... I always liked how the camo looked on the bushwakers figs in the pic, I remember as a kid I used to look through the pegs of the bushwaker tag team packs trying to find ones that had camo like those... also i used to spend a while in TRU and woolworths searching for that R&B Valintine... of course then not knowing it was a un-released proto... I even used to ask the sales staff... LOL

Great post! Certainly from what Badger has said when it came to photo shoots for commercials and catalogues etc about 13 prototype figures were produced so that would probaly explain the difference in why figures such as the bushwhakers and crush are somewhat different compared to those finally released. That Greg Valentine in R & B gear really is great! I just have this thought it was thown away after the shoot,

Thanks for sharing those! It brought back a lot of memories for me as I still have my Hasbros and the WWF magazines that these ads came from! Karma +1!

Can we get a list of all known magazine/toy ad prototypes going?
Crush (redder face) above R&B Valentine Brutus Beefcake (Mega Maniacs) HBK (Virgil body) Bushwackers (above)
I know there must be others - can anyone add?
I'm gonna get a better picture of the Crush I think.
Thinking of doing all the adverts for the computer games (from WWF mag) next in the video game forum.

Man I wish the Mega Maniacs Brutus came out! I remember seeing the pic of him and going out looking for him constantly (because I never got the zebra print one when I was younger). Never knowing that the mega maniacs one never came out. One other figure I know of that was different than what was released was Andre. If you go on youtube and watch the old commercials, the one of the first series has Andre with a twistable waist.

Man seeing this photos takes me down memory lane. I used to search for new pictures in the magazines once (the mag) hit news stands.
Like many I was looking forward to the Mega-Maniacs Beefcake!
