My only concern about the figures is that the arms will be loose or fall off when playing. Never owned or played with an R3 like figure. What do you think?

R3 arms were so stiff that you could barely move them while playing. I have a source though who owns unpainted mattel protos, and he says that the arms are great for playing, and are nothing like R3 arms. Exalt if you'd like.

Honestly? They remind me of Colin Delaney's arms on his Jakks figure.

They are nothing like an R3 arm. They are more like DA/RA styled arms.
