Hey guys, I was looking at old wwf mags last night and noticed the preview for the HBK fig (when he went singles). I think the fig in the ad was MUCH better than what we got. He had split legs so you could actually do the sweet chin music, instead of the fig we got.
My question is, does anyone know how many figs like that were produced, if any? And if so, does anyone have one? I think that would have been my fav. figure if it had come out like it looked in the preview.

To date, from my knowledge, NON were produced, it was a proto, much like the R&B Greg. There maybe a proto (maybe more than one) kicking about, im guessing hasbromaniac or STOM would know more. Protos tend to go for a lot of money, just ask Judge, he has recently bought the Ultimate Warrior 3 proto, but that figure was actually produced. Your best bet would be to buy a custom of that figure, a highly detailed custom, that claims to be a custom, but would look amazing in your collection... THAT i can help you with

It had the Virgil body. I'm still not sure as to why they switched it. If they wanted to use the Martel body, they could have easily used it for the blue card Michaels (and then the repaint, wouldn't be a repaint any more, but rather the same attire with a different pose). Someone at Hasbro probably realized they had thousands of Martel bodies but not enough Virgils. who knows.

martel, Shawn Michaels 2 and savage all having the same body... meaning 3x as many as Virgil parts, but yeah, im guessing, like all businesses, it was to do with simple cost cutting,

foxeth is right, a highly detailed custom would be your best bet of the figures we have seen on the database that were not released i have customs of greg, hbk, beefcake and evil doink, i even made my own custom test shots just for my own collection, if done carefully and correctly the figures when glossed will look spot on next to your other hasbros.
