I'm guessing that they are going to re-release the AAA stuff in the US if it passes through standards requirements, otherwise we might be getting new figures altogether.
Cookie Jar to Rep Mexican Wrestling Brand Lucha Libre Publish date: Jul 8, 2009 Source: License! Global Weekly E-news Cookie Jar Entertainment has been selected as the North American licensing agent and programming distributor for Lucha Libre USA and the Lucha Libre AAA league, named after the longtime Mexican wrestler.
Under the agreement, Cookie Jar is planning a 2010 retail launch of consumer products, including action figures, apparel, books, back-to-school, novelty items and collectibles. In January 2010, the company will debut the first English-language TV series version, with live Lucha Libre AAA events on its new primetime label The Jar.
"Cookie Jar is thrilled to represent Lucha Libre AAA, an exciting property with unlimited growth potential in North America," says Kirk Bloomgarden, Cookie Jar's executive vice president of worldwide consumer products and marketing. "As the content strategist, brand planner, licensing agent and distributor, Cookie Jar will help make Lucha Libre AAA the next major wrestling brand in North America."
"We are excited to have Cookie Jar's expertise in licensing and distribution to aid us in making Lucha Libre AAA a household name, not just in Hispanic households, but every household in America," says Steven Ship, chief executive officer of Lucha Libre USA.

Hopefully the rest of the world gets them too. I checked out the company's site & they're based in canada with offices all over the world. I'm sure they're going to try & expand the license globally.

There is also a AAA video game in the works to be released in late '09 or 2010 for all the major systems (PS3, Wii, etc.). There are screenshots and video clips out there already. Just "google" it, and several sites will come up that have them. I'm totally looking forward to action figures though.

The big question now is who will get the license to produce the toys? We know it will not be mattel or jakks, maybe hasbro, mezco, mcfarlane? Maybe OSTM will bet back in the game? anyone care to speculate?

marvel toys hasn't been in business for close to 3 years now since they licensed out the majority of their properties to hasbro.
