I was just checking through my WWF hasbro MOC figures and I came across a IRS figure I bought years, back. I think I paid £2 for it. The figure has never been removed from the card, although someone has had a bad attempt at glueing the right side down If you look at the slleves, they are whiter than the body shirt. Whats your thoughts. s600.photobucket.com/albums/tt83/kevhasbro2009/?action=view¤t=IMG_0553.jpg

Strange, IRS never wore a sweater vest.

it looks like cigarette smoke damage has really got to the torso.

I'm holding one in my hand right now. It's loose and has been since I got it for Easter when I was 8 or 9. I've lived in a smoke free home my entire life, and it hasn't been in direct sunlight. As a matter of fact it's been stored in a dark closet for years now, but it's yellowed on the torso. The arms are fine. I don't think it's a variant. I think it just might be substandard materials. Because I can't see a toy company making a variant like this. It just looks silly. At least I would hope that they didn't. I'm playing with my son right now but I will try to get a picture up later.

The plastic goes through a chemical change much like an old Storm Shadow or Storm Troopers do when they turn yellow. I have a Piper on a card that has a almost caramel color shirt from the same chemical change.

It does look a bit strange, I wasnt sure if they losed their colour on card or not. Ive seen a few yellowish IRS figures on eBay before, or in other peoples collections, I personally have never owned one though.

these happen to figures all the time. Different plastic for the torso and arms i believe. this has happened to many figures. I've seen an akeem figure with the same problem, as with bam bam bigelow

Hmmm. First the "yellow boots" Dusty Rhodes popped up, then Rick Rudes with "pink tights," Bam Bams with lighter heads, and it goes on and on.
Toys as cheap as action figures weren't designed as long-term collectibles in that age. The poster who mentioned Storm Shadow and Stormtrooper figures gave the PERFECT example. It has nothing to do with light, smoke, etc.; as plastic ages, it sometimes changes color slightly.
I have several different old NES and SNES consoles, and over the years, some of them have yellowed and some of them haven't. If you look at several SNES systems, you'll notice that just like certain Hasbros, parts of them yellow and parts of them don't - and it's usually in a predictable pattern. Again, just like some Hasbro figures.
If you stop and think about it, except for the green cards, these were very widely distributed figures. How is it that what are now fairly common "variants" didn't show up at all for 15+ years and are constantly being discovered? I have a feeling that as the years go on, more and more will pop up too.
The real shame is that Hasbros are going to deteriorate. Eventually, the "normal" versions will be the rarities, and AFAIK, we can't really do anything to stop it.
