Devin Star is found in the gym, in his wrestling gear, no less, doing various low-impact exercises on his knee, to prepare himself for his match at the house show. Last week, to be frank, Devin got lazy, and it cost him. He got his knee injured during his match against Christain Shields, but he wasn't about to let that happen again. Devin had a history of knee injuries: A history that Devin, quite simply, didn't address as a possible flaw with him physically. So he was making sure that he would be ready for a focus on that knee now, by doing what he needed to do to have that knee at least in match shape by the house show. He also needed to work off years of ring rust, which he had plenty of at Felo-De-Se. He made a rookie mistake...and that was going into a match thinking you were ready, only to be completely out of your game on that particular night. Devin, with his knee good and stretched out, grabbed a partner and began working out a few things in the ring, going through different holds and moves that his opponent this week, Johnny Gordo, will probably use. At some points, it did seem like Devin's knee was still really bothering him, but he didn't let it get to him. Devin stretched his knee out again after the workout, and changed back into his normal clothes, heading for an interview.
Devin walks down the street towards a bar, where a man named Ricardo Vasquez is supposed to interview him. He sees the people all around him, and they still don't recognize his face yet. That's okay, though. Devin Star will be on top again in due time...
On the way to the bar, Devin sees a man in a white tanktop and black slacks with goggles on his forehead pass him, and he turns back. That looked like his former manager, Trey Kool...
He decides to try to greet him.
"Yo, Trey! What's goin down?"
The man with goggles turns around and walks up to Devin.
"Hey. Sorry, man, I get confused for Trey Kool all the time. You're Devin Star, right?"
Devin nods.
"Man, it's cool, though. I just thought you were Trey. I got an interview to go to, though..."
"Oh, alright."
Devin begins to walk away, as does the man that looks like Devin's former manager, and they nonchalantly wave to each other as they go their separate ways.
Devin finally arrives at the bar where the interview is scheduled to take place. Sure enough, almost as soon as he walked into the door, the interviewer, Ricardo Vasquez, could be seen at the bar itself, with a large notepad. Devin showed his I.D. to the man, showing that he was, in fact, 21 as of March of 2006, and then walked up to the bar, sitting beside Vasquez. When Vasquez noticed him, he turned in his direction.
"Oh, Señor Star, thank you for allowing me to interview you ahora."
"De nada."
"Hablas español?"
Devin wiggled his hand.
"Un pequeño."
"OK. Well, let me start with this...before now, you've been pretty silent in WFWF. Why is this?"
"Everyone else was saying everything about me that I had to say. What could I say?"
"I see. Well, this actually leads me to my next question. Historically, you have been nothing short of awe-inspiring, but since coming to WFWF, you haven't said a word, you were beaten pretty badly by Christain Shields, and, from what I understand, you're wrestling this week with a knee injury. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen anyone roll right over you like Shields did on Felo-De-Se. What are your thoughts on this?"
"I'm not gonna try to blame it on being out of the ring for so long, or my history of knee injuries, or anything like that, like I'm sure the announcers will say this week, or what I'm sure anybody else might say. That's the easy excuse. The fact of the matter is that I've been lazy. My head's not in the match, I'm not really preparing myself for my opponent...I sucked this past week. But now I'm gonna turn things around. I'm preparing for my match, both physically and mentally, so I should be able to get the job done this week."
The interview continues with a series of unrelated questions, and Devin shakes hands with Vasquez as he gets up to walk out.
"You're sure you don't want to stay and have a drink, Senor Star?"
Devin looks back as he's walking out.
"No, thanks. I got a match to get ready for."
Devin walks completely out of the bar and back towards the gym as the screen fades to black.
