What's up? I had to come on here and show off my homemade light box! Since I've got some new collectibles coming in, I really wanted a way to take good pictures of them. So, I started looking at light tents, and hated the prices ($100+)... well, a long time ago I found this site (link below) with directions on how to build your own... so today, I went out, bought the materials and got my ass to work! Check it out! digital-photography-school.com/blog/how-to-make-a-inexpensive-light-tent/After I got it built (took about 2 or 3 hours), I grabbed my nearest collectible (Palisades Micro Battle Damaged Predator) and snapped this quick pic! Very quick snap of the set up(I used clear mailing tape to held the fabric in place): I spent around $8.00 total, and couldn't be happier! Thought everyone would like to see this, and maybe a few would like to try it!

So what is it? A box with white walls and floor with a light for taking pictures like the one above?

Well i wouldn't want it but i know you like taking pictures of your predator collection. The pics should look real cool from in there.

I just need to head down to a hardware store and grab a 'natural light' lightbulb for my lamp, so I don't have to tweak my camera's settings for a whiter look (the regular bulb has a light yellowish tint to it).

That is awesome dude. I totally need to do this. I do somewhat of a makeshift lightbox by setting up a light a certain way inside a panel of a TV stand. But I really like what you've done here. It works so much better than what I do.

Looks interesting. How much did it cost you in supplies? All together (box, scissors, glue, tape, cloth, and "Natural Light") it was around $14 total. After I wrote that it cost about $8, I bought a Phillips Natural Light bulb today. That is awesome dude. I totally need to do this. I do somewhat of a makeshift lightbox by setting up a light a certain way inside a panel of a TV stand. But I really like what you've done here. It works so much better than what I do. It takes a little time, but the results are well worth it. I've got to try different colors of background sometime. I'm really having fun with this! Went out and bought a 'Natural Light' bulb, and took these: *snip* This one is extremely good and looks professional. Excellent job! Thanks! I appreciate it! -Also, the camera I use is a really basic $200 Kodak Z1275 12 MegaPixel HD digicam, in case anyone was wondering.

After a trip back to Austin, I am really thinking about buying a pro Canon or Nikon, since I do take a lot of photos at concerts, and collectibles. It even takes good photos with my old 7 MegaPixel camera.
