For a recolor dont make someones attire a color they will never wear. Like Kane I doubt we will ever see him in a black and blue attire. Also Kanes stomach is just way to smudged. To help out dont smudge the stomach that much and when doing recolors make it a color they would actually wear.

These all remind me of my earliest work, just overalying onto other colours and making custom attires. I'd suggest not using blur on anything other than the head(only if it's a picture) also look at the tutorials to find out which tools to use. Don't be discouraged by some of these guys replies you'll get better with practice just go step by step and dont attempt everything at once.

BLUR. But take it down to 60%. It will work lots better I promise and if you think you really know what your doing, Use the clone stamp tool to fill in shadows prior to bluring.

Smudge>Blur you shouldnt need to smudge/blur anything other than the head but when it comes to it smudge FTW blur is only useful for psfigs i rare scenarios, most of the time smudge is the key.

I do both. First blur, then smudge.

Recolours are pretty crisp for a new guy (ignoring the horrible colour schemes) Just maybe lower the saturation by going hue>ajustments>hue/saturation and lowering the saturation bar.
Check the tips thread made by Dielawn, you'll get better as you go along, don't worry.
