Peace to the Gods- I'm going with the AJ. The ripped cruiser looks great for him, the skintone looks very clean. The attire is simple, but very well painted.
Gonzo- To be honest, I'm not quite too big on either of these figures. I don't like the hair on Williams, and those "flames" on the boots are not very good. Texacide, I gotta be honest with you, I like your work, I absolutely love your ToyBiz customs, but I have yet to see an Indy custom of yours that I have actually liked. The figure looks entirely too clean to be Necro. He's known for his wild hair and beard, the head noticable lacks the "craziness" of his hair and beard. The bald spot aswell should be hight up on the top of the head.
Gonzo- I like this Steiner more than others you have made. Maybe it's because you kept the articulation. The Eddy just seems dull to me, I'm not too big on the sculpting of the belt strap.
Titantrap- I remember Drew Carey in the Royal Rumble. Good times. This is the first time I have seen someone try a Drew Carey, so I give you points for originality. The Ozzy just seems dull, especially when compared to Rozz's, which kinda stands out with the bright colored attire.
GCS- This Big Josh/Doink probably has to be one of the most unique figures I have ever seen, I would probably put it right up there with M2K's old Gobbeldy Gooker figure. Both sides are excellently modded and painted. The Fake Diesel looks alright, I gotta agree with tXr though, you gotta sculpt hair on posed figures.
Beyondo- Sorry Gore, I really like your Vega, but I am just blown away at the Link. The sculpting is superb, the painting is great, and it looks like the character translated well into action figure form.

1. I am going with KO's Franchise Shane Douglas. The paint is very smooth. The added cloth boots are terrible, too big, but its a nice attempt. I also like the head choice and DAs just look more realistic. I like the hair on AJ, but not so much the painting. The lack of accessories drag it down a bit. Abyss and Delaney are nice attempts. Delaney is too simple for me. Nothing jumps out on it. Abyss is original. It has that going for it. But it needs a lot of work. The attire seems way off.
2. Texacide's Necro Butcher gets the next win. Fantastic skin coloring, mods and overall look. Dr. Death is great too......but I think Texacide wins this battle, eventhough I usually prefer Gonzo's work.
3. Famous J's Homicide and Konnan. Frankly one of the best Cide's ever. NYDream had another great try.....but Famous is just too damn good.
4. Gonzo in match 4. The Eddie is very unatural looking. The paint is chunky. The skin tone is off. Steiner's skin tone is way off.......but the over all painting and detail surpasses the Eddie.
5. Rozz's Ozzy Osborne wins. Obviously. Too bad, cuz this is a great custom. And his dog rocks.
6. BRK's Ozzy Osborne wins. I would say a push, b/c both are great and equally well done. But Ozzy has a kickass mic. stand. Accessories go a long way.
7. Gatecitysinner's Big Josh/Doink wins. I really dont like either as far as idea. Both are well executed, but both are very weird. The Diesel paint is too chunky and shiny. I'm also not crazy about the face. Gatecity must have put weeks worth of work into this custom. Its plain crazy looking. But its also very well done.
8. Beyondo's Link wins hands down. I love Gore's work....always have. He put out a great custom. BUT......this Link is dead on accurate. Nothing wrong with it. Accessories are great, painting smooth, mods look fantastic. Vega is awesome as well. Though, I am not crazy about the unmasked version of his head. I love the fact that he can be unmasked, but the lack of resemblance too me gives Beyondo the win.

I am willing to make a retraction. Chunky is not the right word. After relooking at your custom, it looks as though the camera flash or shadows or something is making it come across as chunky.  Look at the back of his legs, right around the knee areas and calves. At first glance, it appeared as though there was extra paint. However, after a more careful glance, I think its the flash that is causing this effect. Unfortunately, my vote stands. I'm sorry if I have offended anyone by my critique of your figures. I thought I was free to cast a vote without scrutiny. I dont usually drop critiques, b/c it seems as though most people cannot handle hearing an imperfection with their custom. This comment is not directed personally to you Import. Its just in general. I almost did not make my post with opinions and just casted a vote or better yet, deleted it all together. |

I can take critique and you have the right to vote for who ever you like.But i take alot of effort in may sculpting and painting and when you said it was chunky i wanted to know where because i was not seeing it.

I would say sloppy. The belt looks bad. The hair is inaccurate. As in the ref. pic Eddie had his hair shaved pretty close to the skin on the side but yet on your figure it looks as if he has a full head of hair. The goatee looks sloppy. The design on the tights look to be very rushed. The left arm looks noticeably bigger compared to the right arm around the bicep area. And the hands really bug the s*** out of me. If you are going to attempt a posed figure I would say you should make the figure look as close to whatever reference picture you use. You didn't even try on the hands. You just left them as is and it looks more like Bob Backlunds pose when he gets ready to do the cross-face chickenwing... I don't understand why people are talking about PMing their vote and blah blah blah...isn't the whole point of having a tournament is seeing what fellow customizers think of your work and at the same time testing your abilities....being praised when you did something amazing...and critiqued when making something not to the best of your abilities? To Import. Your paint is not chunky in the least. You really do paint well. The only thing I would say is step up your game even more. Everyone knows you can paint and you are good at including as much as possible to a custom to make it look like that particular person but now I would say learn muscle definitions and how to sculpt them. Like back definitions. How to capture certain muscle striations. Or making the pose look natural throughout the body. Especially the the armpits. That is the hardest part to do IMO because you have to make it so it isn't to cut but at the same time make it have some definition and curves so that it doesn't look like gumby. that is probably the main reason you and Gonzo get a lot of crapis because you guys do posed customs. Nobody likes them. Nobody liked when me or scorps or ck did them...and they still don't like them to this day. I guarantee if you guys left all articulation in your customs they would get everyone on this board saying "OMGSZZZ 10000/10". But don't change your style just because it doesn't appease someone else |

The PM idea would cut down on people complaining and "petitioning" for votes. It would work the same way it does now, but all the votes would be posted at the same time as the winner is announced so their wouldn't be people questioning and potentially swaying the other voters who hadn't posted yet. |
