Is John Cena's FU really that brilliant? What was the point in last night's match between him and JBL even happening? JBL beat on him for close to 20 minutes for Cena to suddenly raise him up onto his shoulders and tip him onto his back and beat him? COME ON! Has it been established that the FU is the most effective wrestling finisher ever?!

I don't know...the Pedigree is pretty close...ask Booker T, who took it and was down for about 20 minutes before Triple H covered him and won.

It's a finishing move in professional wrestling!
Quite often a superstar's most effective move isn't their finisher. Logical? Probably not, but it's been that way since.. well.. forever. See: The Rock with The People's Elbow and Hulk Hogan with the Atomic Leg Drop.
Take it with a grain of salt.

Pretty much... but then again, John Cena is about 6 ft tall and he's dropping you flat on your back... you tell me in a real fight if that were to happen that it wouldn't knock the crapout of you... a Fireman's Carry Throw like Cena's FU is a very practical yet very effective maneuver realistically...

FU was cool to use as finish, but most effective? Not think so. They may say that is because its Cena

Is it because 90% of the crapyou read on the Internet is a lie coming from someone trying to sound bigger, more important or more macho than they really are? It's really very easy to do over the internet which is probably why I can say with a straight face that I call bull-shit. I've taken my fair share of wrestling moves on the ground but the one thing I won't do is take an F-U on to the ground because that is just rediculously painful... Seriously... That craphurts...

I don't know...the Pedigree is pretty close...ask Booker T, who took it and was down for about 20 minutes before Triple H covered him and won. Was this the Summerslam match? If so I'm still convinced Booker brought his shoulder up before the 3 count. Unless of course you're talking about a match from 2003 or something.

Nah, he's talking about their Wrestlemania 19 match where Booker T...died... after taking his Pedigree.

I just find it funny that most wrestlers who get caught in that position, being set up for the F-U, just can't seem to counter one of the most basic moves in wrestling. That being the fireman's-carry. Hardly anyone can seem to find a counter for that....
And no, it is not the most effective move ever.

Although I don't recall many, if any, people kicking out of the F-U to date...

I don't know...the Pedigree is pretty close...ask Booker T, who took it and was down for about 20 minutes before Triple H covered him and won. The devastating effect of the Pedigree, on Booker T especially, is best demonstrated when compared to the other three main events of WMXIX.

It is just an elbow drop. With him running back and forth off the ropes first. An FU Hurts a lot more than an elbow drop.

I actually thought Cena was improving. But he looked horrible in last night's match and it wasn't JBL's fault. He didn't build up to the FU at all.

JBL beat on him for close to 20 minutes for Cena to suddenly raise him up onto his shoulders and tip him onto his back and beat him? Its called logic. If JBL has been beating him up for 20 minutes, then he's obviously gonna be wrecked tired from being that active for so long. So he took a demed-to-be-powerful finishing move, and he couldnt get up in three seconds. I dunno, but that makes perfect sense to me. I see that strrategy being used in boxing a lot. Let the other guy get worn out then go for the attack. Seriously, you people give out that Jeff Hardy is a 'spot monkey', yet when someone actually has a logical match, you guys still sh*t on it anyway.

To be honest, I was taken FU in the ring, and take an top rope suplex. I would say top rope Suplex is more hurt than FU.
