Superstars was a pretty good read. Looking forward to Diesel's debut! Lol at Doink drawing a smile on Walker's face. Loved the Genuis promo, it just adds to his obnoxious, smart, attitude. Nice to see Diesel get the win in his debut, and obviously i expected him to win. Squashing Virgil in 30 seconds is a pretty impressive debut. He's back? Who is it gonna be?! oh i cant wait to see who's coming back at the Rumble man. Liked the Hart promo a lot, and i cant wait for his match against Diesel. The main Event was good, i obviously expected Hart to win. Loved the ending with Razor nailing Hart with the belt. Im loving this build up so far.

Those graphics are plain yet they look legitimate that way and that's why they're great. Awesome to see this return. I love Bret Hart but if Ramon pulled off a surprise win here that would be awesome for sure.

Those graphics are sweet. Great idea to re-unite the Mega Powers especially against Sid & Yokozuna. Bret/Razor should be fantastic. You got a reader in me.

Gotta say, I am loving those graphics. I have a suspicion that Bam Bam Bigelow and Crush will open up, I can't see it being the best match but realistic for the Royal Rumble in this time period. Hopefully Bigelow wins and begins to get a push to the top, or heck even WWF Intercontinental Championship. Hmm, is Bret Hart WWF Champion? If so I think this match against Razor Ramon makes the title look silly when there's two matches that overshadow it. Hart will win but I bet Ramon will be receiving a push. The Megapowers reuniting is fantastic but personally I wish this would happen at WrestleMania IX, it has that much potential of being great. Maybe a long feud running through to WM? I hope that Undertaker wins the Royal Rumble, I see he's due back soon (well, February). I see Ultimate Warrior making a run-in in there though.

January 24 1993 - The World Wrestling Federation presents;
Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan upon up the show, welcoming us to this year's Royal Rumble event. They run down the card before we get under-way. Bam Bam Bigelow (w/ Jimmy Hart) defeated Kona Crush via Count-Out.- Crush starts out apprehensive of Bigelow's size and strength. Crush manages to get in some decent blows to slow down his opponent. - Bigelow begins to take control of the match, wearing Crush down. - The Hawaiian Powerhouse mounted a slight comeback before being completely flattened against the ringside barrier and the ring-posts. - Crush couldn't answer the referee's count of ten, giving Bigelow the victory. Bigelow continued to assault Crush until finally being pulled away by a satisfied Jimmy Hart. We go backstage to President DiBiase and Irwin R. Schyster doing the drawing of the numbers of the Royal Rumble Match later tonight. One by one we see the participating WWF Superstars take a number from the tombola. We see Sgt. Slaughter and Bob Backlund sharing their numbered tickets with each other, whilst people like Jake Roberts kept to themselves. High Energy and Virgil defeated The Headshrinkers and Double J (w/ Afa and James E. Cornette).- Unannounced match, basically a card filler. - The Headshrinkers and Double J looked convincing and were sure of victory until a mistake made by Samu threw away their advantage. - High Energy and Virgil pulled out a quick victory in around 5 minutes. Owen Hart rolled up Double J for the win. We see a graphic that hypes the Tag Team Match tonight between Yokozuna and Sid Justice against the newly reformed Mega Powers. Sean Mooney is standing by with Razor Ramon. Mooney asks how Razor is going in to tonight's WWF Title Match with Bret Hart. Razor says he's going in and he's gonna carve Hart up, and walk away with not only the WWF Title, but with Hart's dignity. Meanwhile, Mean Gene Okerlund is with WWF Champion Bret Hart. Okerlund asks for a response to Razor's comments. Hart says that Razor can carry on living in his fantasy land because there is no way he's losing the WWF Championship and the chance to go to WrestleMania is Champion. Bret Hart defeated Razor Ramon via Submission to retain the WWF Championship.- This started out slow with Razor eventually taking control. - Hart managed to get in several pin attempts, but couldn't keep Razor down for the three. - Razor had Hart in position for the Razor's Edge on more then one occasion. However, Hart's technical expertise allowed him to escape. - After at least 20 minutes of going at it, Hart managed to trap Razor in the Sharpshooter, forcing him to tap out. Bobby Heenan leaves the announcer's desk, telling Gorilla Monsoon he has go pick The Narcissist's Rumble entry number. We go backstage to the number drawing, which is still happening. Ric Flair and Mr Perfect trade numbers at Flair's request. A video hypes up the Tag Team Match between Yokozuna and Sid Justice against The Mega Powers, which is up next. The Mega Powers (w/ Miss Elizabeth) defeated Yokozuna and Sid Justice (w/ Mr Fuji) by Disqualification.- Miss Elizabeth was unveiled before the match as the final part of The Mega Powers reunion. - Yokozuna dominated most of the match, beating down both Hogan and Savage. Justice was also dominating. - Hogan and Savage pull out a big turn around, but it doesn't last long as Jake Roberts comes down and whacks Savage and Hogan with a steel chair. - Roberts, Justice and Yokozuna attack The Mega Powers, but again they fought back, with Hogan attempting to body slam Yokozuna before he escaped with the rest of his team. - The Mega Powers stood tall in the ring as Yokozuna, Jake Roberts and Sid Justice backed off up the ailse. A video shows various WWF Superstars commenting on their intentions next up in the Royal Rumble Match. These include President DiBiase, Shawn Michaels, The British Bulldog, The Big Boss Man, Ric Flair and The Legion of Doom. The Royal Rumble Match;DRAW | ENTRANT | ORDER | ELIMINATED BY | 1.) | Sgt. Great opening contest to start off this pay-per-view event, the 1993 Royal Rumble. I like that Bam Bam Bigelow beat Kona Crush by count-out, it makes Bigelow look like a complete badass that way and like I said earlier today, hope he gets a good push. Seemed like a fairly alright filler bout just to get everybody something to do other than be in the Royal Rumble. Hope Jeff Jarrett gets a nice push. High Energy? Bret Hart retaining the WWF Championship is predictable, but hope Razor Ramon gets a nice, smooth push in the future. The Mega Powers beating Sid Justice and Yokozuna is also predictable, quite good however. Liked Jake Roberts joining Yokozuna and Justice afterwards. Great Royal Rumble, I owned the prediction for this. The Undertaker as a replacement is nice as well as it makes it even more unpredictable. Awesome show.

- Bigelow destroying crush is fine. Perhaps he is on the verge of some form of push which would be ok I suppose.
- Typical WWF and their random tag team pairings. I'd prefer The Headshrinkers and Double J to get the victory here though as I don't think much can be done with High Energy let alone Virgil.
- Hart over Ramon was expected though I still would have liked to have seen a shocker here. But during these days they loved to run with babyface champions so ah well.
- My first thought of the result of the tag match was "lame" to be honest. Then I got to thinking that Sid and Yokozuna are huge heels at this stage in the game so you really don't want them to lose like this especially since they will probably hook up again in some form at Mania. Jake Roberts getting involved is interesting though. So I think I'm tossed up with the results here so I'll just move on.
- Love that you used a table for the layout of the rumble match. Its clean and works perfectly. Undertaker winning the Rumble is interesting as is the potential for a match between him and "The Hitman".
Kinda would have preferred some more detail in the matches but ah well still a decent, realistic show with some added surprises here and there.

Good show and glad this is back. Roberts joining up with Yoko and Sid is cool and has an old school feel to it. Graphics are great. Would have liked some detail in the Rumble, but cool to see Taker win.

Kerry Von Erich, Bob Backlund, The Genius and Skinner were all released from their contracts following the Royal Rumble.
Ric Flair also finished with the company after the Royal Rumble. He left on good terms.
The decision on who was winning the Rumble Match was left until the actual event itself. Originally The Ultimate Warrior was scheduled to win the match. However, once Crush was legitemately injured earlier on in the night an opportunity arose to put The Undertaker into the Rumble. Apparently, Hulk Hogan told Vince McMahon he was up for going into the Rumble in place of Crush.
Speaking of Crush, he suffered three cracked ribs in his match with Bam Bam Bigelow. He could be out for up to 3 months.
Mr Perfect is scheduled to turn face and feud with Razor Ramon.

-Bigelow winning via count out makes sense. Crush doesn't look too bad and Bigelow comes off as a monster -High Energy! Glad Owen got the win -I forgota bout Sean Mooney lol -Glad Hart retained as I knew he would, but it was good that Razor had a great match with him -Glad you brought out Elizabeth and you ended that tag match in a great way -Glad 'Taker won the Rumble as a replacement. I was hoping the Ultimate Warrior wouldn't win
Typical Hogan to offer to take Crush's spot lol. Very good Rumble, I liked every winner and I love the theme song.

January 25 1993 - The World Wrestling Federation Presents; Vince McMahon and Bobby Heenan welcome us to tonight's edition of Monday Night RAW. They hype appearances from High Energy, President DiBiase, Bam Bam Bigelow and "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Bam Bam Bigelow (w/ Jimmy Hart) defeated Virgil.- This match didn't last long at all. Probably about 4-5 minutes tops. - Virgil didn't gain a lot of offense in this match. It was mostly all Bigelow. - Virgil was finally crushed with a Diving Headbutt from the top rope. - Post-match, Bigelow attacked Virgil just like he did to Crush, resulting in medics coming out to wheel Virgil backstage on a stretcher. We saw a pre-taped promo from Razor Ramon. He discussed his loss to Bret Hart last night at the Royal Rumble. Razor said that it was a fluke and that he did NOT submit to Hart. Next week on Monday Night RAW, if Hart is man enough, he wants another shot at the World Wrestling Federation Title. High Energy defeated Mark Roberts and Eric Freedom.- A fun match. High Energy love to please the crowd. - This one didn't last too long either. - High Energy picked up the win with a missile dropkick from Owen Hart. A commercial airs for the new Royal Rumble video game, out on the SNES and SEGA Genesis. We cut to Sean Mooney standing by with President DiBiase. The interview was quite brief. DiBiase stated that The Undertaker will face Doink The Clown in the main event tonight. Marty Jannetty defeated Del Wilkes.- Jannetty looked impressive here after having not been seen for 2 weeks. - Wilkes was considerably bigger then Jannetty. However, this did not fault Jannetty's in ring ability. - Jannetty picked up the win with the Rocker Dropper. A commercial airs for several upcoming WWF live events. Diesel defeated Danny Kamo.- Diesel is an absolute monster. This was the definition of a one-sided match. - After throwing Kamo around for about a minute into the match, Diesel picked up the win with the Jacknife Powerbomb. We cut to Randy Savage. He talked down about the fact that Jake Roberts ruined the match between The Mega Powers and Sid Justice and Yokozuna last night at the Royal Rumble. He said that Roberts did it to get back at him because he's never got over the fact that he'll never be as big as The Macho Man. Savage claimed that he will end this feud once and for all. A graphic hyped the upcoming main event match. The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) defeated Doink The Clown.- Fresh off his victory in the Royal Rumble, The Undertaker was always the hot favourite going into this match. - Intimidated, Doink had a 'hit and run' approach to the match and tried to wear The Undertaker down like nobody has been able to do before. It didn't work. - Once The Undertaker caught up with Doink, it was all over. The prankster was quickly immobilized, leaving him prey to the Tombstone Piledriver. - The Undertaker and Paul Bearer posed in the ring with the urn to end tonight's show.

Royal Rumble Review: - Bigelow winning works for me. The whole baby face Crush version never did anything for me. - Really would have liked to have seen the Shrinkers and Double J pick up a win. At least not Have Jarrett take the pin fall. - Would’ve have liked Ramon to pick up a huge win, but I’m not complaining that Hart retained. - Roberts joining Yoko/Sid is good. This is where I actually like a DQ finish. You can continue the feud a little further. I wonder who you will bring in to even the odds. - Damn. Too bad President DiBiase couldn’t win. That would’ve been great. Taker winning though is interesting. Taker/Hart at Wrestle Mania should be good.
Overall, a really quick read. Maybe a little more detail for a PPV. Good show.
RAW Review: - Bigelow taking some baby face wrestlers out is pretty cool. Poor Virgil. - A push for High Energy? I’m all about Owen Hart getting a push, not so much for Koko. - Good win for Jannetty. Will Wilkes be the Patriot at some point? - Diesel squash. Puts him over as a monster. - I could just see Doink trying to take Taker down. Makes sense for Taker to get a squash since his Rumble win. - Surprise we didn’t get any words from Bret Hart or Ramon. - Seemed to be a very average show, to me.

January 30 1993 - The World Wrestling Federation Presents; A montage appears before we go on air, remembering Andre The Giant, who passed away on January 27, aged just 46. Vince McMahon and Rowdy Roddy Piper welcome us to the show. They hype appearances tonight from WWF Intercontinental Champion Rick Martel, The Bushwackers, Bam Bam Bigelow and WWF Champion Bret Hart. Diesel defeated The Brooklyn Brawler.- The Brawler didn't manage to last too long. Diesel was too overpowering, as he has been since his debut in the World Wrestling Federation. - Brawler eventually fell victim to a stiff kick to the mid-section, followed by a Jacknife Powerbomb. There was no getting up from it. - After the match, Diesel signalled for championship gold. Mr. Perfect (w/ Bobby Heenan) defeated Sgt Slaughter.- A great back and forth encounter. Slaughter managed to keep up with Perfect and hold his own. - Heenan proved a great help to Perfect, distracting Slaughter and the referee at ringside. - Slaughter locked Perfect in the Cobra Clutch, but Heenan hopped up on the apron, catching the referee's attention. With his back turned, Perfect hit Slaughter between the legs, and finished him off with the Perfect Plex. We see a pre-taped promo from WWF Intercontinental Champion 'The Model' Rick Martel. He hypes himself up, claiming to be the only person beautiful enough to hold the Intercontinental Title. He admires his reflection in the gold as we go back to ringside. 00DEAN defeated Barry Horowitz.- This was the debut of 00DEAN on WWF television. - 00DEAN was accompanied to ringside by two women, whilst he wore a tuxedo. - Horowitz didn't last long, as 00DEAN's speed and force helped him gain a clear advantage. - Horowitz was pinned following The Silencer, 00DEAN's version of a Tiger Bomb. The Bushwackers defeated Kevin Krueger and Butch Stanley.- The Bushwackers seemed to be more interested in entertaining the crowd. - They started out by playing to the crowd, and ended up being attacked by their opponents. - However, Luke and Butch fought back and picked up the win with the Battering Ram. A promotional video airs for WrestleMania IX, featuring Hulk Hogan visiting Las Vegas, Nevada. We see a pre-taped interview with Mean Gene Okerlund and WWF Champion Bret Hart. Okerlund asks how Hart will respond to Razor Ramon's challenge that was issued on Monday Night RAW. Hart says he will gladly face Razor again and just like he did at the Royal Rumble, he will leave as the World Wrestling Federation Champion. Bam Bam Bigelow (w/ Jimmy Hart) defeated El Matador.- Santana brought a lot of heart into this match. However, heart is never enough. - Bigelow quickly gained offense and beat Santana down with several blows and headbutts. - About 5 minutes in, Bigelow climbed up top and finished off Santana with the Diving Headbutt. - After the match, Bigelow hits two more Diving Headbutts before security and backstage personnel come down and stop him doing any more damage. - Jimmy Hart takes Bigelow off up the aisle to end the show.

I love it. Undertaker winning is fantastic, I really like the way your building Yoko/Hogan. Yoko was a beast back in the day, he deserves to be booked as a huge monster. 00DEAN should be interesting, I don't want him to be a jobber but there's not much I can see him doing either, apart from floundering and maybe a IC title shot. It's a shame HBK is being a prick again, I want him to step up to the main event this year.
Great diary, good to see you coming back to it
