and the most underrated of all time (I know it's not today, but cancer robbed him at 42... he'd only be 72 today)... John Cazale (no one in the average household could tell you his name, and his ENTIRE filmography is only FIVE films, but every one is a cinematic classic, and a best picture nominee and/or winner! How about that for picking your roles...). The Godfather, The Godfather II, The Conversation, Dog Day Afternoon, and The Deer Hunter... amazing. Nice one! It's so cool how his whole filmography is a Best Picture nominee, his best is definitley as Sal in Dog Day. Honestly, I think the most underrated actor maybe ever is Brad Pitt. He gets a really bad rap for being a pretty boy, but he's a damn fine actor. Definitley, to me Assassination of Jesse James is his best work yet.

Ellen Page is probably my #1 young actor pick. Word. I agree.

Yeah, I definitely agree on Brad Pitt... But I guess I don't see a lot of people forgetting about him because all of my friends and I are huge Brad Pitt fans -- the guy is just a great actor.

Brad Pitt...underrated?
Everybody I know, including my parents and teenage friends all love him.
My friends like him for the films Fight Club, Interview with the Vampire, Etc.
My parents love him for films like The Ocean 11 Series, Meet Joe Black, and Legends of the Fall.
He is one of my favorite actors, bar-none. I really don't know how he is underrated, he is one the most well known and well-paid actors in the business.

Michael C Hall is the best actor on television now that James Gandolfini and Ian McShane are not on anymore, I put him slightly ahead of Domenic West, Michael Chiklis and whoever else is out there.

I wouldn't say Caine is underrated, seeing as most people already recognize his awesomeness.

I agree with quite a few names mentioned, Brad Pitt, Steve Buscemi, Robert Downey Jr. Emilio Estevez never got the respect he deserved either.

Emilio Estevez? For what? The Mighty Ducks? Yes. All three of them should've took home oscars.

Jim Caviezel...sure, his turn as first-century Palestinian separatist Yeshua Bin-Yosef was really only memorable for him getting his ass kicked, but because of it, people tend to forget Frequency, The Count of Monte Cristo, or the fact that he was the original choice to play Cyclops in X-Men.

Alec Baldwin, Michael C. Hall and Peter Krause are the three best actors on TV right now. It's sad that most people only know who one of them is.

I wouldn't say Caine is underrated, seeing as most people already recognize his awesomeness. I never really hear him talked about or praised. I guess he isn't underrated, but overlooked may be a better word.
